Universal Studios Mediterranea could be a super interesting topic to talk about since Portaventura was the only time Universal have purchased an already constructed theme park and sold it years ago
they even planned to add a universal studios theme park next to it so portaventura would be the european islands of adventure. don't know why they sold it. i would have loved to have a universal resort in europe
I’m a Korean and this is really interesting to watch! I use to go lotte world and ever land every week with my dad and it makes me sad imagining those theme parks closing down because universal will obviously over shadow them . Korea is a very small country so having three major theme parks in such tiny space would be too crowded
If you compare it to Southern California I think that it is possible to have more theme parks than what you currently have, especially since we have like half the population you do and with several major parks, but of course business people would have to really analyze whether or not South Korea could actually support more theme parks. I'm not an expert or anything.
Lifting tide lifts all other boats. As long as the theme parks can differentiate themselves, they will be prosper. The more theme parks getting built in Florida, the more people go there.
@@skellingtonMCR Southern California is only a small portion of California which is only 1 of 50 states of the United States. Yes its true, that small part of the country is oversaturated with theme parks but you have the rest of America as a steady stream of foot traffic not to mention the amount of foreign tourists California gets. Southern California is also bigger in land area than the entire country of South Korea so all 3 parks would be quite near meaning the existence of Universal would pretty much suck dry both Everland and Lotte World (Their 2 Major theme parks). As for international appeal Korean theme parks also struggle as next door neighbor Japan has 3 of the world's best theme parks in Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea and Universal Osaka. Disney and Universal also made moves in both Shanghai and Beijing so thats another country you need to compete with.

13:40 Me, I would buy off the golf course next to Universal Studios Lot, turn that into the new studio lot property, and convert the existing 450 acre lot into expansion for the park and a second gate for Hollywood.
Hopefully, the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort would be more successful and well-beloved with lots of room for resort expansion, more resort hotels, more fully-realized rides and attractions, a fully-realized second gate theme park with more rides and attractions, an RDE district similar to DisneyTown at the Shanghai Disney Resort, and other cool stuff!
Hong Kong Disneyland lost a lot of land for expansion/2nd gate park to the Hong Kong government for the lack of not building anything in the land last year.
I would like to see a universal resort in the UK since it would give people who live in the UK who may not be able to go to Orlando an opportunity to experience a universal park. It would also probrobly gain interest from BBC, ITV and possibly channel 4 and it would finally give the UK a major theme park that wasn't owned by merlin.

I think a Universal theme Park in Southern Mexico near Cancun, the Mayan Ruins and the brand new train system that's going to connect all the major tourist areas would be perfect. In fact a theme park named Amikoo is already being planned for the area. More competition from Universal would be Awesome.
What they really need to build is a new location in the US for both Universal & Disney. Somewhere maybe towards the center of the country. If Disney & Universal can make a theme park work in climates like Tokyo, Shanghai, and were considering building in S. Korea with their brutal winters, then there's tons of places they can build another location right in the US. With the excessive overcrowding situation at both Disney & Universal in both Orlando and Anaheim/Hollywood. There is more than sufficient interest and crowd to build a location somewhere in between the two extreme US locations. They could focus on building some of the attractions built at other locations around the world not presently in the US parks which would insure success & interest from all over the US, in addition to their must have signature attractions.
I agree, maybe build it on the grounds where the still operating Mexico City airport is when the new airport opens. At 770 hectares it has the perfect size and location for a theme park in my opinion.

I lived in Korea between 2017-2018, and I always felt that they deserved a big-name theme park like Universal or maybe even Disney (Lotte World Adventure had some interesting qualities, but kinda average as a whole imo).
