    It is still my main camera ten years later.

      Good for you Anthony. I've also been using this body for years. I don't why photographers think we need the latest and greatest. In the modern era, all DLSRs are good cameras. I will be speaking about the D850 soon.

    Nice report. Thank you. I also love my D810 and use it successfully for bird photography. Whilst the continuous shutter rate may be slow by modern standards it is more than adequate. I enjoy setting up for shots rather than spray a million shots and hope for a good one. Isn’t photography more about the process not the spray and pray approach?

      @@oskaandbeanie I would totally agree. Setting up the shot. Thinking about the shot etc is all part of photography.

    If I am not mistaken, you can set it on 20 mp. Am I wrong?

      @chrisfrancis18 hey mate cheers for the reply. I've looked it up, and yes, you can set in on 20 or 9 mp resolution . Also, you can set the sensor on crop 4:5 so you can get the square shape pictures like the medium format film cameras. 👍

      When shooting in DX mode (crops the full-frame sensor to a smaller APS-C area) on a Nikon D810, the image size is approximately 15.3 megapixels with a resolution of 4800 x 3200 pixels. You can choose to shoot in DX mode even with full frame F mount lenses.

    Been in two minds (for what seems like a lifetime!) wether to go fx. Just can’t seem to make the jump, is there much to be gained by going full frame? I shoot with a mirrorless Olympus and a D200.

    • @chrisfrancis18
      @chrisfrancis18  Месяц назад +1

      depends on what you are currently shooting. one of the benefits is the dynamic range is better with a bigger sensor. There are so many Good used full frame cameras out there to be had. However glass is also factor to take into account. I first got good lens and used it on my cropped D90 then when I had a few FX lenses then when for the jump to full frame. let me know if you take the leap.

    I had a D800. After the focusing and terrible colour issues, I would rather not have a camera than have another Nikon.
