Man today i made it!! Ahahah i had an old saitek r4, it was on the road for the garbage but then i thinked at this video and i HAD TO TRY!! i'm using it on my drift rwd tamiya with no gyro and is crazy af, seriously is amazing and i have to thanks you and only you for spreading this hobby so good! I had a little trouble with the throttle / reverse, the reverse go in sometimes and sometimes no but i will try different cable settings, also for the steering wheel i had an infrared sensor that wont work with the radio sistem so i had to take parts from the radio and build (i'm 1000 km far from my 3D printer) a proper structure to fit the radio sensor and with a threaded rod i connected the wheel to the sensor and now it goes!! TAKING IT TO NEXT LEVEL MAN!!! Thankyou
SO AWESOME BRO!!! High 5 on Completing it!! SO MUCH FUN.. I wish a company made a radio that was a steering wheel and peddles. SUPER COOL! Congrats on getting it done!! :) Happy Holidays!!
DUDE!!! This is the coolest idea I’ve seen in a long, long time. I’m blown away! If you can somehow make this somewhat affordable and of course a version for quadcopter’s and planes, I believe you have a multi-million dollar idea on your hands!! Hobby/Life changing idea!! 👍👍
The last time I saw someone do this, it was a guy in Australia that put FPV on an HPI buggy and took it ripping around his property. He actually mounted huge antennas for TX and VRX on the roof of his house, so he can go driving or flying a few kilo's away from his place. Really cool stuff Aaron. I can't wait to see you take it for a drive!
I see now. Just used the pots (variable resistor) already installed. That's friggin awesome. Time to find a cheap steering wheel and rip my dx2e apart.
that is just so cool.... the fpv is just what I was thinking, but for the SCT's. You should get some of the others to make these setups on the stands, throw on fpv's and run the track. Now lets see you put the Komodo on your rock course! Pretty cool idea for those years ahead when you need to be wheeled out to get some air and continue to rc.
Ur like a mad scientist medic, that's by far one of the coolest things I've seen been done with rc's , the first video I watched about rc trucks was urs and now I'm addicted, thank u sir, awesome video
Great Job Medic! One concern, the steering pot may be of a different range than the one that was in the transmitter. Example 10k vs 100k. If the rig wont steer tight enough, measure the resistance of the pot out of the radio and see if there is one that will fit the steering wheel. Or just reuse the one out of the controller.
In that radio's electronics, the potentiometers are being used as voltage dividers. Which means you can use different values of pots and still get the same voltage signal as you would with another one. (As long as they're both linear) It can get annoying when there are only two wires going to the pot, then it's being used as a variable resistor and the other resistor for the voltage divider is a regular fixed value one on the circuit board. In that case you would absolutely need to use a pot with the same value.
I am very curious however about the two pedal setup and how you managed to get the signal from two potentiometers into the one signal wire going to the circuit board. I don't know exactly how you have your wiring set up but from the looks of it there may be a better way to do it that would get you the effect you're after.
looks like a lot of fun I never thought to try to use the existing wiring I'm glad I watched your video before trying this myself I thought about first attempting this kind of set up then moving up to a parkflyer 4ch my ultimate set up would be another 2ch radio set up to a head set to track where your looking and a camera in the plane so you can look up down right left while flying love your video keep them coming
What has crawler Ted been up y hasn't he posted eny videos ? If you could let me know that would be great thanks My Friend you're the best 😁 cheer's can't wait to see next vid
the part u called a variable resistor can also be potentiometer or rheostat and have different purposes, nice build and it shows your problem solving skills i truly love to see all your work
Ha ha, so cool. With a little bit of 'I can do it'-attitude you actually did it. Nice of you to share. Would love to see a video with the FPV set-up together with this :-)
Of course my friend!! There are 2 types of people in the world bro.. People that say "I Can't" and the people who say "How can I do this..."... RC people are the second ;)
Lol once again, barely posted and there is already “nice video” comments immediately. Anyways this is cool, and wish it becomes an actual thing. (Edit: some spelling errors, keyboard acting up)
Josh. Keyboard, it was a huge delay, and typing the same thing 3 times, and video was acting up also, it was pausing and playing until I refreshed... I need a new phone
I love how you said I am going to put my fpv on and go for a drive two thumbs up bub .....awesome video I have some stuff similar to that somewhere collecting dust might have to dig it out
Awesome! I could see this catching on with the scale semi trucks. Seems like they usually have everything setup in a somewhat compact area and I think if you could get a good view point to drive from this would work great. Maybe even with FPV googles! Great work as always!
Getting the peddles to work properly was a bit of a task.. but it is possible! Glad you enjoyed the show today.. thanks for listening to my raspy voice from the cold.. ugh!
Hey bud!! Awesome.. I thought you would like this.. Technically.. we should be able to make anything a remote control.. all we needed was the guts of a radio!
I love this build. Maybe you could even use a different radio with a truck that has a high/low diff or something have a switch so one pedal is for forwarding flip the switch and the same pedal for reverse the other pedal could be for locking up the diff or going from high to low gear... IDK but it's awesome great job!!!
Hey so I saw your video and went and found a thrustmaster t -80 and thought it would be just like you video! But no!! I also spent several hours trying to figure out the wiring but finally got it! All the colors were different! But super cool and works awesome
That is seriously awesome Medic!! Ya, I can't wait till the vid where you get the FPV working with it. Are you going to have it run ur track? It would be super sick if you did it with one of your 1/5th scale trucks, that much speed & that much wide stability!! Soooo very Mepic! Then maybe even put it on ur TRX-4 or something & run ur crawling course?!? Just watch out for ur flipping & damaging ur camera.
AMAZING!!! I was going crazy looking for that info, was about to buy an arduino.. instead just connecting the wires, since both systems work with potentiometers it looks so easy!!! thanks for that
You should go to Line X and have them spray some of your parts for your RC, its a really strong spray. For an example, Line X sprayed it on a egg of a eighth of a inch and dropped it 50 feet and, it didnt break.
I know you did this a while ago, but I wanted to comment, I'm about to do this for a dozen cars, and put fpv cameras I them, and bring this with a race track I made, and the rcp, to festivals, fairs, and birthday parties. Thanks for the info here. One of the race tracks is in the little circle to the left, turns banked at 30 degrees, 25 feet long, 8 feet wide. Perfect for 28th scale cars.
best rc sparks video _ thats genius level tweaking , great great work figuring out the potentiometer wiring and matching to the radio's _ cheers J from Jet Noise
cool mod, they had something similar at the fair. they were using tamiya cars on oval track with steering wheel and pedals. cost like 2 bucks for 5 mins, was fun but handling was harder than using a normal remote
Awesome! THAT IS SO COOL! I have the same steering wheel. Just have to find it. I only have a Hobbyking radio. Time to find a Spektrum radio! GOOD WORK!!!

👍👍
I have seen this before, and thought it was kind of cool, but that was before fpv was really a thing.
With fpv this becomes so much cooler.
Thanks for the positive comments;)im going too try it!
I find great childish joy from this. I want to see somebody do a plane like this!
CHILDISH you think Rc is childish No it's not btw great vid

THAT IS AWESOME... those of us with back yard trails will love to try this.. Winter project? Oh yes...lol
Absolutely brilliant!! I would love to give this a try. Ya knocked this outta the park sir!!!

Bahaha.. I love your last sentence :)
Okay by far the coolest shit yet man!!! I'm completely stoked for this project dude keep it up its soooo friggin cool!!!!!
That’s such a cool idea...
Amazing grease, how sweet the sound...
yes this is blowing my mind, wow sick three wheeled donut!
Just got back from after school detention this is exactly what I needed
This is so amazing! I’ve never seen this on a hobby grade rc. I’ve only seen the cheap toygrade ones
THIS CREATIVE AND AWSOME, THANK FOR THE GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS!
This is insane. You must have crazy patients. Very cool. Can't wait to see you drive it
nice work :D they have has something like this for years at a local theme park and i wondered how it was done :D
great job as always
Awesome job Medic. Glad to see you feeling better
Ur like a mad scientist medic, that's by far one of the coolest things I've seen been done with rc's , the first video I watched about rc trucks was urs and now I'm addicted, thank u sir, awesome video
Wow this was very interesting and amazing! With the FPV system the game is gonna be completely different! Great Job Man!
Once again you blow my mind with such an excellent build that worked outstanding thanks for entertained me for 13:10 minutes
WHO EVER WONDERED iF THiS WOULD WORK?! hehehehe...
RCSparks Studio more drifting plz or maybe some mini-z racing
Medic ur awesome
I have always wanted to do this. But didn’t know if it would work and how to do it.
This needs a fpv camera
RCSparks Studio I have one for Xbox and it is awesome for the Xbox
That's so cool! Awesome video as usual!
This is so awesome, who cares if it is practical or not, it is so fricken cool!! I'd love to have one :D

Good call on that.. but I am getting full throw at the moment. I will keep my old potentiometer .. thanks for that advice

Cool, didnt know that. Makes sense on why it worked the first go.
Obrigada ❤
I’ll bet this will catch on world wide. Just great my friend, just great.
The ending was the best part. 3 wheel doughnuts!!!
That's freaken awesome as hell man.
Props to figuring the wires and everything out
Freakin Awesome!! Can't wait to see the HD footage of it running :)
Dude! So cool! Congrats on pullin it off...definetly looks fun!thanks
Wow. Mind blown. Amazing video. Great job. A company need to make those. Great job.
I actually still have an old pc steering system like that but I don’t have an extra transmitter cause I use 1 for all my vehicles.

This is cool. Especially come winter time and plowing the driveway on a 2 camera system! Ty for the tutoring!
OK, that's something new to me, but can't imagine to take this out on the field with my X-Maxx :)
Great work!!!
That's killer man you should totally make your own product line with that.
Am glad you're feeling better enough to get this video out man. Keep getting better!
God Bless~

Sorry Jesse! I dont know.. I havent seen Ted myself, in a few years! People move on.. :(
Wow, Thats the coolest thing Ive ever seen!
I'm going to try this with a PS2 controller, and a wingman joystic. Awesome idea, great video

voododd666 good
The stuff that you come up with I swear you're just funny that's why I call you the teacher
This is such a sweet project! Good job and thanks again for making a video of the process, might have to try this for myself in the future!
I have seen many of these at the Goodwill and have often thought about doing that. That would be cool.
I totally had this idea last year and this makes me happy!
Just add some goggles like cardboard and do some awesome fpv racing
I love this build. Sir, you the real MVP going to do this RN.
Thank you for manifesting a curiosity of mine !! Totally going to do this to for my FPV and summit !! Or maybe the wife’s bandit 🤔
That's an awesome idea! Now you made me wanting to try this, hahaha!
Head tracking system would be great too.
Thanks brother

Great vid man great to here your getting better too ,, we were missing ya
Awesome chop man. Love to see a FPV video.
Like you said you HAVE to use that wheel and fpv! That would make such a fun video xD
Wow medic totally awesome I can't wait for the fpv video
I did this in my rc to it was awesome I loved it I love you videos keep making them
Very cool! Great video
I've wanted to do this for soooooo long, thank you for sharing
Heh! Nicely done Medic!! :)
Whats up Braxx! Good to see you here bro :)
That is awesome and is gonna be so fun for fvp!!
This is how you break the internet, bravo
Great job medic . It looks so sick 👌 keep up the great work

wire in the switch right off the battery tray before the radio and keep the radio switch on that should allow you to use the front on off switch
wow, how cool is that.. nice job medic
best rc sparks video _ thats genius level tweaking , great great work figuring out the potentiometer wiring and matching to the radio's _ cheers

im kind of a starter in electronics and i do appriciate the hard work nice job man 😄😄👌👌
that is pretty sick dude. nice work
Good job glad to see you got it working just want to let you know that I’m buying a summit on Friday
Well done on this as I think it is pure genius!
After I saw this video I started a list and now I'm going good to do it. Thanks RC sparks like the way your mind works.sir
cool mod, they had something similar at the fair. they were using tamiya cars on oval track with steering wheel and pedals. cost like 2 bucks for 5 mins, was fun but handling was harder than using a normal remote
super cool i was thinking the same thing nice work .
I love your vids!😊 I bought my first crawler cause of watching your AWESOME vids!👍🏻🤙🏻 keep them coming my dude🤙🏻
Lol, this is a totally crazy idea and I like it! I didn't doubt that it would not work, and I was right 😁 You're really ThE SoUrCE of crazy ideas 👍👍👍
Your videos are always amazing. Keep it up.
Omg that's is so cool you are my favorite RUclipsr I love you vids and my one dream would be

This is going to be sick
Very Good 👍 to you sir I take my hat off too
Fantastic idea. Inspired me to give it a go
That + FPV is cool..
Additional challenge is for a swivel camera mount and y cable for a servo so cam looks where tour wheels are going.
Man if I had the money I'd do this in a heartbeat
Awesome! THAT IS SO COOL! I have the same steering wheel. Just have to find it. I only have a Hobbyking radio. Time to find a Spektrum radio! GOOD WORK!!!
