So let me inform you here that 曲弾 should be read as きょくびき, and 卓子 should be read as たくし, though these 2 words are seldom used these days.
Also, 向かいはちまきmeans the headband tied in front ( not at the back as I gesture in the video). I am learning new vocabulary as I go along! :)
This is the third episode of the series. 溜息の部屋(A Room of Sighs)
This is created for one of my intermediate-level Japanese student, D-san. Anyone who loves Japanese literature like me may enjoy this amazing story written by Shugoro Yamamoto (山本周五郎), who is my favorite writer. Shugoro Yamamoto is also well known as some of his novels made to be the great films by Akira Kurosawa, namely "Sanjuro", "Red Beared", and "Dodes'ka-den". His stories are filled with warmth and understanding towards ordinary people. He wrote a lot of period drama, however i have chosen the rather”modern” piece. (relatively modern as it is written in 1983)
I minimized the editing so that I can post more videos with less intervals. Since I read this story for the first time, I am also trying to understand what is going on. It was very exciting! There were a few mistakes I made during recording. For example, if I could not figure out the kanji reading, I simply took a guess, then if I found out any errors I would mention it in the description.
Comprehensible input is based on Professor Stephen Krashen's Second Language Acquisition hypothesis, which basically says " You will acquire a language only when you get compelling comprehensible input".
