It is ridiculous how we can learn so much and laugh so much in the process. Keep firing on all cylinders!
mmmmm water beds leeking toobs was good time's
You forgot Colin Furze's launching bed.
One should not underestimate the murderer Murphy bed of The Sims 2-3-4 which acts as a most potent Simsticide that hits them as to punish them for chosing poorly engineered apparatuses.
You predicted the unexpected collapse of society.
You forgot to include the luxurious water beds of Guantanamo Bay!
that is massive oversight on my part
I hope i get to go to gauntanamo bay hotel one day. It sounds so luxurious
Didnt expect Mr beyblade
When are you guys gonna kiss 🥺
Pffft! Ty
"and sweaty depression spirals"
That hit a little too close to home.

Indeed. It's the sweaty part that really hits home.

I want Yoko screaming as the soundtrack to me drowning in a water bed one random night
I believe you ment singing. (sarcasm)

set that to your alarm clock.... :D
This is going to make it someone's ring tone
"He died as he lived; coccooned in soggy blankets, thrashing to the tuneless shrieking of Yoko Ono."
I watched this while lying in my bed.
It's where I edited and wrote it also...and where I can currently still playing tetris

No, its pretty runny.
You mean liquid gold?
@fucku weebsnfurries no I don’t think he will
@fucku weebsnfurries how?
do you mean golden shower?
I love the lesbian subtext in that old commercial for beds of the future.
What does subtext mean?
@@mcfarofinha134 I have a bad feeling about this
@@Mr-Chick it just means implied meaning like "reading between the lines"
You just know
I mean while the bed was left behind they werent that far off
Slight correction: the curtains showed at the middle ages bed where not just decorations. The purpose was to close them during the winter to keep warm.
WHAT WAS THE BLANKET FOR THEN?
@@spikethompson2000 To keep warm?
You do realize that it is useful to have more than one layer of protection against the cold?
And that if you live in a stone castle (before glass windows were invented) your room can get very, very, very cold.
@@keineangabe1804 oh yeah? Then why have walls, huh?
@@isaacgruver7061 you people aren’t very bright huh?

Why have the sun then if we're meant to be bright?
"...have nots and have cots."
What a line.
I couldn't hear what came next as I was laughing out loud at that line.
Why do I hear BFB
Don't forget the waterbeds' 'absorbitant' costs.
I hope I get to live to see you recognized as the gold standart for edutainment content that you are. Had me in shambles with yoko.
much appreciated fella!
@@OrdinaryThings here too man, keep the great vids coming. bruh, what is that piece of music you used in the beggining, I recognize it but can't put my finger on it
it is the beautiful but now-hilariously titled 'Air on the G String' by Bach
@@OrdinaryThings LOL, that's it! Fun fact: this piece is also known as "baroque wind" (my pun game is weak af :c )
I hope so too. Not like Epstein who doesn't get to live at all anymore, even though he didn't kill himself.
"But the bed isn't just a place to sleep, relax, and eat box..." I'm gonna stop you right there. This is my new favorite channel, thanks for the collaboration with Internet Historian, we now know where you sleep... in a bed.
just make sure not to put your bed in the nether
I had to stop the video to laugh. It took me right out.
I love these so much
glad you're liking them dude x
Yeah, I like beds too.
Came, saw, binged, now demanding you never stop
as long as there are ordinary things, I shall continue to explain them
*Bold of you to assume I can sleep*
These get funnier and funnier. I love the more visual comedy that you're going for and the timing is spot on with some of those jokes (e.g. 0:22). It's becoming less Charlie Brooker and more *you* over time. Keep it up!
thanks dude. I really enjoying putting the visual stuff together. glad u think its paying off
"and it was normal for strangers to share beds while travelling"
*gasp*
THERE IS ONLY ONE BED
I can’t believe the only one bed plot is historically accurate
@fucku weebsnfurries you must have a lot of friends huh, atleast 5 times as much as I have.
@fucku weebsnfurries woah bro, cool it with the animephobia
My grandmother used to tell me stories when she was a kid, they slept all in one room, on the floor, and occasionally with a traveling stranger. And this was in the 1960s.

Yep
Yeah, also Adam Ruins Everything (but less smug) and some humor in the style of Jay Foreman... I'd add those to the mix as well
a.k.a. documentary with funny in it.
huh......... not really
And NakeyJakey!
As someone laying on a futon placed on the ground, I am moderately disappointed their history wasn't mentioned in this video.
@Stella Hohenheim you sleep on it = bed
even sleeping bag or pile of hay = bed
Sometimes I get a freaky feeling of watching videos from 2019. As if, I could warn people.
Got a mattress ad while watching, the one with the sasquatch family to be exact
😂 me too!
I got a sleep aid add
I don't get any ads God bless UTUBE Premium!!!!
According to my parents, water beds also were not good at regulating their temperatures. They would always be really cold unless there were multiple blankets between the user and the bed itself. As my mom said, it was cool in concept but not that practical.
Maybe good for Perth Australia, we've had way too many consecutive days above 40°C this year 🔥
In summer Id actually kill for a self cooling mattress
@@Skittenmeow water holds heat quite well too. You'd probably need a cooling system connected to it otherwise it'd be like sleeping 2 cm above a hot bath.

Your channel is criminally underrated. You condense so much cold hard truth in such a small amount of time. Keep up the good work man!
Much appreciated
These videos scratch my Vsauce itch, while also being incredibly funny. Love your channel, keep it up!
glad you're enjoying! and will do!
I was looking for more ancient-type bed history from around the world, but I'm definitely not disappointed to have found this video. Subscribing for sure.
To summarize: AaAaAaAaAaAH
That last Yoko shout had me in stitches 🤣 Great videos mate, your humour is spot on.
originally i saw ur face in suggested videos and I said "I don't trust that face", but now after binging your channel I say "I wanna hug that face".

ahh thanks dude!
It's gold
As someone who couldn't afford a bed for years, I'm really thankful to finally have a nice one :3
This is not a video essay; this a an epic poem.
Waterbeds are pretty cool though :(
Have you slept on one? My grandma was a hippie so they had one. It was awesome.
Though, I didn’t sleep on it every night before a miserable day at work. So maybe it isn’t worth it.
@@misanthropicservitorofmars2116 once it leaks it will pee on you
The utterly deadpan delivery of 'eat box' took me with it.
Fantastic video.
Your simple, yet never less than amazing "Your Mum" remarks, slipped in neatly... Gets me every time. 😂
Cheers!
One of my greatest aspirations in life is to become one of those weirdos who keeps the water bed industry alive
this is laudable ambition. I wish you luck in your quest

I've been binge watching your content and man you're good at what you do 👍👍
Millionaire musician describes lying in his bed for a few days as somehow relatable to real heroes challenging violent social injustice at the risk of life and limb, or at the very least, jail time. Wow Lennon was such a brave guy...

The downside of the Egyptian bed was the Egyptian pillow. If you haven't seen one of these you should Google it but basically it was a stone pillar with a stone arch for your head. They can also be ceramic or wood but whatever they were they had to have been very very far from comfortable.

The audio in this video is skirting the line between too quiet and audible. If you right click on the video and select 'Stats for nerds', you'll see that RUclips measures this video as 10 dB too quiet. It'd be nice if you could bump up your levels in future videos.
