Dave Allen was a great comedian, we watched all his TV series on BBC. My parents saw him live at a London Night Club and he was hilarious, handling hecklers in a humourous way. He walked around the tables and helped himself to a drink of whisky off my parent's table and my mum bought him a drink. He stayed to talk to them later because of that. Dave Allen even on his TV shows had whisky and cigarettes at his side. His shows were on the BBC and if available are a wonderful watch. A mix of standup and sketches. As a southern Irish man, he was the first to mock the church and life. Heart warming to hear Linsay laughing so much. I think she definitely has a lot of British genes. ❤❤❤👵❤️🌹🌹🌹

Dace Allen is one of our comedic legends - no doubt about it - always adding a common sense element to things that are naturally ludicrous. If you like comedy, you ought to check out Al Murray, Michael Mcintyre and Lee Evans. Although Lee Evans language can be a bit strong sometimes, he is very funny. Al Murray versus Americans is a good one.

Lindsey wasn't the only one with tears and an aching jaw, and I've seen his material many times. Sign of a superb performer with great material.

Dave Allan is the master of his craft, but I don’t think of him as a stand up comedian, rather he was the original sit down comedian, his early performances were given sat on a black leather bar stool with an attached side table, upon which there’d be a glass of whiskey and an ashtray with a packet of cigarettes. Was also famous for his sketches in which he frequently played the same set of characters, an army officer, a Catholic priest and many others, including my favourite, a Spanish/Mexican peasant revolutionary figure who was always appearing infront of a firing squad. If you can find it he once did a routine describing how to entertain your self if you get stuck in a traffic jam in your car on a motorway/ multiple lane highway, in which his missing finger plays a major part. You have picked an excellent comedian to watch.

Dave Allen, as a middle-aged man, was hilarious to me in my teens. Thank you for the reminder. 😊 Not so many comedians are actually funny anymore.

Dave was a staple on British TV for many years - a wonderful comedian. His monologues on teaching children to tell the time and on the Garden of Eden are hilarious.
