The first in a number of short videos detailing aspects of the sim you might find useful. If there is something your having trouble with comment below and I will look to include it :)
Just a tip for precise movement. Map the different slew commands to your joystick and the rotation to the rudder axis. Hey presto... precise movement adjusted by joy deflection.
Just don’t know what I’d do without your help Mark. From binding keys on all my devices to things like this. You make it everything so much easier to follow. Thanks again. 👍
Great info for newcomers into MSFS I was very happy using SLEW in MSFS 2.02 for IBM PC XT back in 1987. It was the "Y" key and I think it was the same even in FSX
Slew mode is handy at times, but, like others who have commented here, I find the translational movements on the ground (Numpad 2, 4 6 and 8 ) are often too coarse to accurately position the aircraft on a small hardstand, or a taxiway or runway centre line. I have to keep moving the aircraft away and then try to move it back to where I want it. This can take several attempts. It's a pity they didn't include a modifier control, say by pressing the Ctrl-key, so that you can reduce movement to smaller increments. Never had the problem in FSX or P3D as far as I recall.
The big problem with msfs slew is camera view is fixed and cannot be altered.. This makes it difficult when I'm trying to slew to the correct parking position marking for my nose wheel. In fsx and p3d we used to be able slew and move the camera around simultaneously..
Thanks. What the key stroke for exiting slew mode and getting back to cockpit mode. Have same problem with existing external and drone (showcase). Is there a master camera code to assign to a button on a controller to return to cockpit mode? Thanks in anticipation. Cheers Mick
you should have put no clip somewhere in the taggs. I have been looking for this for a while but no one that starts playing this will know that it would be called SLEW many people know no-clip

Thanks Mark, great video as always, yes I’m having trouble finding a 50% off discount on the Aero if you can help 😜
@@nzbankboyinvr4713 😂 you and me both!

Yes it was…..press the Y key….has often been said 😂
This is SO helpful! Thank you so much!
Excellent idea for a series Mark, good work - keep them coming!
Wow, I forgot all about Slew mode. Great video!
Thanks for posting Mark!
Good news! Thank you!
Thank you Mark.
Thanks for this very useful and informative video.
Thanks! Would have helped me a couple weeks ago. Lol. Keeper video for sure.
The speed u can reach with slew is crazy! Crashed my game when I took my plane to the heavens at light speed😂😂😂
That's handy to know. It is always embarrassing when upside down in front of Buckingham Palace (again)!
As always, thanks Mark for another quality informative video!

Agreed.
Thanks Mark.
Thank you very much!!

I shalll slewww slowly over the video so I won't miss anything :)

Press Y to enter & exit Slew Mode
I have mapped that to a hotas button, was something like Reset or toggle Cockpit view from memory - really helps
Mark, this is brilliant. Never knew it exists. My keyboard doesn’t have a numerical key pad, it’s compact. Any advice?
I’m not sure to be honest, use the game pad if one to hand?
I have a glitch and when I exit slew mode it rotates the plane in 1 direction that I don't choose

You could have 1m subs if you added ASMR tags to this video
If only real planes would stay in one piece like that
🤣
I can neither confirm nor deny that I've used slew mode to 'solve' a flight insident. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤥
"After a rare crash" 🤣
Crashed my game😂
there is just one problem. MY KEYBOARD IS 60%!!!
Just tell us ...
