I would argue, as much as I love Gerard, Mikey, and Ray. MCR doesn’t work without Frank. His rhythmic melodies and Rhythm guitar style really adds to the songs. You could find another replacement but they wouldn’t have the mind Frank has to make those notes
I'd argue Frank and Ray together can't be beat. Like, their styles work so well together. I feel if one left, it wouldn't work. Idk. Maybe I just love Ray a little too much 🤣
fascinating how even THE frank iero feels this way too in his own band. it's a very cool moment of literally seeing someone you admire as a normal human being that is always learning. usually i feel that there's a barrier between fan and artist. if you don't put them on pedestal they're basically strangers. but this, it made me realize we're all the same at base. humans.
But he's more than enough and he's really talented. His backing vocals add so much to the songs and sound amazing, his guitar skills are amazing and every time I hear them I just get so happy I love him
It’s imposter syndrome, lots of great musicians get it. Doesn’t matter how much praise or accomplishment you get you can feel this way. Unfortunately I think it holds a lot of amazing musicians back
Frank is one of the beating hearts of MCR. It would not have been the same without him. The record that he started writing on is the one where MCR hit their stride and started making legendary songs. My Chemical Romance isn’t My Chem without Frank.
this is wisdom. it's so vulnerable to feel like everyone is "better" than you-but Frank is saying that's really an opportunity for growth. and i love that. and i love mcr.
yes! it's interesting how feels like he needs to work so hard to have his place in my chem when the other members themselves probably had always thought highly of him, and he uses that "insecurity" and vulnerability to grow.
@@wcnpil YES 🙌 “using insecurity to grow”-so well phrased! and it also says so much about the whole band dynamic that they felt safe to be vulnerable together. true friendship!
I'm not the biggest fan of MCR, but the energy Frank brings to the table is truly impressive. His time in older emo/post hardcore bands really lent itself to MCR, especially when they were starting out.
MCR was my first concert back in 2007. I was in 6th grade. Still one of my fave bands and shows Ive ever been to. My little sister that was born in 2005, now 16 is obsessed with MCR. They are truly timeless. Bet my grandkids will rock out to some MCR!
It wouldn't be MCR without him tho 😶(the thought of it makes me sad 😭) he's very talented I'd love to just progress like he did but in life really he's really great at what he does id like to be that talented and make a living of things I love like that
@@johncalebsonn3220 these are the songs he wrote, but I believe he played all of them in the studio. The guys were writing the album before he joined but he was a member of the band when they were in the studio recording it

I was blessed to have finally gotten to see My Chem perform last week at Milton Keynes, they were insane, as good as my teens. There is no MCR without Frank Iero!
honestly seeing somebody i admire and look up to feel that way about their content makes me feel better about my content. i dont have to feel like im alone when i feel like im not good enough. just goota keep trying and striving top reach a goal where i feel like "yes im doing right

It’s great to hear from Frank ! It’s sad that he thought he wasn’t good enough for MCR, but the band would not be the same without him. Love you Frank 💓✨💓
im so happy hes in my chemical romance. he adds so much and brings so much to their songs every time, i look up to him so much and ive always loved him . i dont like to pick favourites, but frank is amazing and such an inspiration. he always has been and even his music outside of mcr is great 😁 thank you so much frank iero!!!
Frank defenetly carries his own role in mcr, he is in a role that makes the songs many times. He has written some of my favourite choruses of all time.
I got introduced to mcr like in 2019 or 2018 by one of my cousins. Now I’m such a big fan ever since I first listened to them. I’m also a big fan of Frank I love his music
MCR wouldn’t be the same without Frank, all the members pull it together. I’m so glad he’s in MCR and he’s challenged himself and his skills to improve overtime. That’s what makes a great musician is improvement :)
Frank: Yeah I remember being in high school and being like "all my favorite bands are dead" Also Frank: YOU CAN FIND OUT FIRST HAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ME
Actually Frank Iero is one of the most talented guitar player and performer out there, he inspires a lot of guitar players around the world has unique guitar style skills
Frank was a huge part of their sound. You can just hear the difference between their first and second album (where he started to have a more prominent part of the melodies). He underestimates himself.
I thought the same thing in high school and it's TRUE. Him AND MIKEY. Obviously he's good enough NOW. I feel like the band was just about to get going when Danger Days came out. And with the drummer thing and the BS label shit that makes a band not fun anymore. Think about it. Mikey learned how to play bass and then they went on tour. That's ridiculous. So of course it would take a while before every member was as strong as the next. Now even Mikey is like a good bassist. It's sad that the drummer thing happened. I can only imagine what they could've put out. Like when Blink broke up, all I could think about is how amazing the next album would've been. Putting all the AVA AND PLUS 44 SONGS MASHED TOGETHER TO MAKE A REAL ROCK RECORD. I used to hate that they got wrapped up in the emo wave. Cause they are and were and always WILL BE AN AMAZING ROCK BAND.
It’s mostly because Gerard was battling with a drug addiction at the time so wasn’t sober enough to perform (although obviously practice over the years has helped!)
I would argue, as much as I love Gerard, Mikey, and Ray. MCR doesn’t work without Frank. His rhythmic melodies and Rhythm guitar style really adds to the songs. You could find another replacement but they wouldn’t have the mind Frank has to make those notes
I noticed the same thing. Especially when they all broke to solo work. You could REALLY tell exactly which band members brought what to the table.

that's very not true, because he kills every mcr song with his rhythm guitar plays
I mean I get it, when the other guitar player in the band is Ray Toro doing face-melting solos every night. I'd feel pretty insecure too.
It’s imposter syndrome, lots of great musicians get it. Doesn’t matter how much praise or accomplishment you get you can feel this way. Unfortunately I think it holds a lot of amazing musicians back

Frank is so down-to-earth, man. I get the sense he finds just as much wonder in MCR as I do as a fan.
I saw My Chem perform yesterday 24/5/22. Frank was fantastic, they all were.
I really don’t feel like My Chem would’ve been complete without any of the guys - everyone ended up exactly where they were meant to be.
He’s one of the most underrated guitar players in modern rock music.
fully agreed
It's not always about speed and technicality, it's about creativity, and Frank kills in that area.
his little "really? i wrote that" makes me smile so fuckin big
I'm seeing MCR in 3 days and can't believe it. My heroes
How was it
This is a prime example on why I fucking love this man, he is so humble and hard working!!

He's the best member in the band. How ironic
What three songs from bullets did he write on?
Early sunsets and best day ever are the ones I know he wrote/added to.
