When you cut a solid metallic robot into pieces, you can't just stick it back together, you need to repair it. Since this thing is a slime like substance, all it takes is just for its pieces to touch each other to become whole again, no further maintenance needed.

Well first of all puttys too viscous and this is like 10 times more sensitive to magnetic fields which can produce different shapes it would likely take a Large machine to manipulate it effectively

Yeah as of right now they are just trying to learn the materials properties and behavior, its just in its very-very early stages , and yes its just a ferro-putty , but the point here is it make it non-toxic, The slime is concocted out of neodymium magnet particles, borax detergent and resin polyvinyl alcohol. (I'm not an expert just read articles online)

It can also be used to clean out drain pipes that have been clogged up with filth and fat after people dump food into their sinks. This could be a solution to the fatbergs that clogup our sewer pipes that is costing the government milti-million dollars to fix.
