That NIST recommendation not to force regular password rotation is about 12 years old now, but it really is still news to a lot of people. I remind our head of IT every two months. I'm really into object-capability theory, so I tend to rail against the concept of login online as a whole: we have better tools, we've had them for 60 years. Maybe I'm just too vocal.
On the cups thing: I remove cups-browsed. I didn't even know network printer discovery was a thing, I'm so used to configuring them manually. This prevents the remote trigger from working.
When companies talk about replacing workers with AI, we all knew it didn't stand for Artificial Intelligence, right?
