@@skyreapery2n164 I personally think that Eijun deserves that title with all the hardwork and effort he putted. Furuya will get out of the slump that he is in.
I’ll just keep re-watching the three seasons that are out then. The last episodes weren’t even sawamuras. It’s been so long since I’ve seen his growth as a pitcher! After 5 years I bet he’s massive!
Sawamura's shining moments are the pitching duel against Amahisa and the last 3 innings against Inashiro. The pressure of last innings and the pressure of earlier innings were like heaven and earth. Sawamura got to experience that before when they lost to Inashiro the previous tournament. Furuya wouldn't be able to withstand that pressure. His last inning against Yakushi was also thanks to his previous experience since his brutal pitching was most effective against them that even Sanada and Todoroki can't hit them. Plus to keep Mei at bay, Furuya was forced to go full throttle right from the first inning or else Mei would overpower him if he is gonna pitch 'economically'.
definitely ace of diamond is the #1 sport anime for me beacause his growth is exceptional and realistic , the ups and downs before he came to be an ace , still not moving on i want more of DNA
