Just a random suggestion from a new fan, maybe sometimes don't tell in advance what's going to happen. So it's a lot more thrilling watching some close games not knowing how it would go. Love the vids, keep up the good work!

This has become my new favorite ship, primarily because those 180s will slap the absolute hell out of those HE light cruisers that have been the bane of all my BB games.
I freaking HATE watching a bunch if BB shells land beautifully into the side of a Helena and barely leave a scratch while you get incinerated.
Even the 203s in the other heavy cruisers will overpen like crazy... But these 180s will hit that citadel and can even slap around battleships if they run round broadside...
Then because you mostly have the AP loaded, you can take those shots when they pop up.
Tallinn benefits from a few not so obvious stats.. 180’s have a low minimum fuse threshold (the minimum thickness of armor they have to hit to ignite the fuse), improved penetration angles (not American, but 50 degrees ain’t bad, that’s why I put von Essen on to boost it to 54j, a shorter fuse on the timer (.022 seconds vs .033of most ships, meaning less overpens because the shell explodes faster), aaaand very good shell penetration (somehow Stalinium can pen 300+mm of armor at long range for full penetration while other nations with bigger shells can’t do that at half the range).
I don’t look to this game for historical accuracy, so my choices aren’t governed by that, so it’s hard for me to not say the Russian heavy cruisers aren’t darn near the top in this game 🫡
Man, those 180s are fun to shoot! I have to agree. It’s the best T6 tech tree heavy cruiser. Sleeper hit for me. It’s kinda the opposite of my previous T6 TT fav, which was the Zara. Totally different toolkit and playstyle, but if I had to put them 1v1, I’d be in the Talinn all day.
Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked it and disliked Riga, but I have figured Riga out and am loving it too now.

My experience playing the Tallinn... Pre angling away while moving...shoot a ship, and immediately start dodging as every battleship decides they want to kill it >.>

Just played my first match in it today. Not an agile boat thats for sure. I added concealment mod and am trying the delightful drop spot build with some extra range too. Once I get the B Hull it will open options. But must be safe at range with all the bbs on there! Hope you give the high level drop spot build a try!
I was trying that build with Riga and struggling mightily, but I could see it working for Tallinn… but Riga, man, that was giving me all sorts of issues until today..the clouds parted and the pocket Vladivostok was born… just crushing everything.. hopefully I will get a game to show soon since there is a lot of Riga sucks out there.
@@metajerk yes I've heard Riga is not what we envisioned. I think the build would work on Tallinn and Amalfi/Zara. Although the angles on soviet shells would be easier, but you are a better Italian cruiser player than I so I'm interested to see it work!

I don’t really know if giving it 25mm plating with an icebreaker at t6 is balanced but I love bouncing t5 bbs shells

It's nice to have a cruiser below tier vii with armour you can rely on, in certain situations anyway.
Grinding Gorky right now, short for silver though as I want to be able to afford Edinburg for t7 ranked...Must have bias....
Mmmm, Gorky isn't too bad once it gets all the upgrades.. but Tallinn, whew, whole different beast, actually has a little armor.

I've played 3 matches against you these past several weeks, with a 2-1W/L but you've killed me twice. Last week you killed my Alaska in your Stalingrad and this morning you killed my Algerie in your Riga.
I'm really not enjoying grinding Algerie, but that's not relevant.
Always glad to see you on the red team though just once I'd like to see you in blue.

@@metajerk glad to hear you figured out Riga, Algerie is still causing me to suffer especially when I get tiered up. It is still stock though, I dunno.
yup it was a GG, I don't know if it's my luck or some voodoo curse but I've been in a lot of matches with community contributors, a lot, and I never do that countdown thing, but only once have I gotten one as an ally. Hipper in a DD, he died like 2 minutes in lol. So you're probably better off being on red team.
got a kraken in Tallinn today and feel like it is the most enjoyable t6 cruisers. how to you rate it compared to Riga tier up
Originally I was pretty disappointed in the Riga, coming from the Tallinn is was like "WTH?! Give me the Tallinn back". But I have gotten about 200k XP into it now and I am having _way_ better performance. It plays entirely different, it is much closer to Vladivostok than Tallinn, and once I adjusted my play style to fit that I was having very good games consistently.. I will cover it more in a video soon!

Maybe I enjoy the German ships too much for Stalin to bless my Russian heavies but I just can't seem to make them work with any kind of consistency for me. The HE is basically worthless against anything other than destroyers and the AP for me is horribly inconsistent.
Yes, the HE is shite. But the AP is where it's at, what commander are you using?

@@Sempergrumpy441 I don’t think you _really_ want to use von Essen until Tallinn, as it’s the first one with improved pen angles (von Essen just bumps them up to US pen angles), might want to try makarov? Honestly lightful I am really ranking up just for Riga and Stalingrad (and petro, should it ever come)
