Every album this lady drops is classic or near classic. Hey Adriana, if you ever check yourself on youtube and come across this message, I just want to thank you for your music. Since me and your music met in high school in the late 90's we've been good friends. And thanks for never lowering the bar to settle for mediocrity. Your body of work as singer and songwriter is something you can be proud of. In my estimation you are one of the truely great artists of my generation. 1997 till today!
Even though her son didn't shine like others do she's probably the greatest show artist around that has me notice but still going strong I'm using her first album still strong today if they will put it out again at the first day I bet you it will hit the charge high cuz has the beat and everything that goes with today's r&b and it's more than a decade old she's a jazzist r&b pop and everything else this lady deserves or Star destroying brighter I hope to see you in concert on Sunday shake your hand cuz the music is truly text me and your voice is awesome as well take care
@bolder2009 I see we like the same artists! That's so cool you got to meet her after the show. Dying for her to come to New York! And yes, Sade - definitely in a league of her own!
@DeeLovely330 Amazing! Her voice is extraordinary and personality is so warm on stage. I met her afterwards. I also saw her show on the June 24th. It was the fulfilment of a dream that I've had since 1998/99. There are some videos of the Jazz cafe gigs on youtube. I also saw Sade at the o2 in London. One of the best live concerts I've ever experienced. I went to Adele's gig in London on September 18th. It was brilliiant! But the Sade gig was just in a league of its own.
@DeeLovely330 Yeah I'd love to see her in concert as well, but it doesn't seem like she'll passing through London for a show. Of all the artists who I love from that era, she is the one that enchants me the most.
@bolder2009 You are so right. She is definitely a classic. She cannot compare to the artists of today who basically suck. I love her and would love to see her in concert.
@DeeLovely330 Breaking news. Adriana is performing live at the Jazz cafe in London on June 25th. That gotta be one of the musical highlights of the age. And to think I finally got to experience Sade live for the first time. Two of my favourite artists in one month. Its too Hollywood to to be true!
Man...I hear ya. This was my favorite cut on this album. I brought it to work with me, and I was gonna post it here, but you've beat to it. You're right: this was a GREAT album, probably the most under-appreciated and slept-on of the 90s. At the time, it seems like all the talented soul ladies were caught in Erykah Badu's shadow.
@DeeLovely330 I saw Janet at the Royal Albert Hall, London in July. It was a really fun show. Unfortunately I didn't have the best view. I had a balcony seat that was obscured, so I had to strain to see her. I missed Prince's gig at Hop farm but I was fortunate to see him on his 21 nights at the o2 Earth tour in 2007.
@bolder2009 How was the concert? I know - late response! I saw Sade this summer in NY. The best concert I've been to in a while and that includes Janet Jackson and Prince all in the same year.
@mymonkeylife Yep, there was...and like I said, they were all overshadowed by Ms.Badu. Luckily, I was living here in the Baltimore-Washington area at the time and was able to hear Adriana, Davina, Angel Grant, Brigiette McWilliams, and all the rest on WHUR before it became another syndicated hub.

One of my favorite artists of all time. I'm so mad she doesn't get the props she deserves.

👍👍
@Odawg96 There was a lot of talent going on at that time. Davina, Judy Albanese and more.
