    Ive been waking up at 5am and going to sleep at 9-10pm for a while now and I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been. My grades at school have gone up and my focus throughout the day has improved so much compared to when I was sleeping at 1am and waking up in the afternoon. Even my workouts have improved and I can feel my body changing and getting stronger with each week of working out and its the absolute best feeling ever. I really recommend getting into this routine.

    I hope you don’t mind me saying: If you have a mental disorder, it is imperative that you get at least 8 hours of sleep. In my experience. Waking up early I get more done, but I have run on 4 hours of sleep over a week during manic episodes and by day 7 I had a full on break down. You have to take your medicine and go to bed early if you want to get up early. Awesome video. Just be careful if your in a position where your mind needs assistance.

I always have a hard time getting up for dayshift which is around 4am so I sleep about the same amount for either day or nightshift, but I notice that my energy drops faster during nightshift. It is harder to get up early but if you went to sleep early enough then it keeps you energized longer.

    I always train before work. Used the end of daylight savings as a springboard to start waking at 430am (was already used to waking at 530) and kept it up for ages. I like being the only one on the road and part of the 5am club at the gym (the same 8 ppl would be there every morning). After gym I'd go home and just chill before work. In your vid you mention nature, it is amazing that time of day. The stars, moon, sunrise are my faves. Best of all no distractions!
    Only downfall is that by about 2pm I'm stuffed. So I have changed back to 530 wake up and I'm usually in bed 9ish. Ongoing routine is key.

    I get up early to give me ample time to workout. Ideally, I'll then be able to have a nap later in the morning or in the afternoon depending on shifts at work. It's a good feeling getting my workout done early because I can then focus on other things instead of worrying whether I'll have enough time. As someone else has mentioned, going to bed at 8pm and getting up at 4am is pointless if you're going to insist on eight hours' sleep. The idea ought to be to give yourself a longer day, hence the recuperative power of naps. Five hours' sleep is enough for me if I can fit in a daytime nap.

    I wake up around 4am to study, but I usually go to bed around or before 23:00😂 I just get about 5-6 hours of sleep. It’s a great technique but exhausting sometimes.

  • @Fingledoodler
    @Fingledoodler 3 года назад +1

    one thing I would suggest is maybe changing it up to 5AM and that you don't necessarily need 8 hours of sleep. there is research out there about sleep cycles and different bodies need different amounts of sleep. Dr. Michael Breus is someone to go look at for sleep research. You just need to get into making sure you wake up outside of your sleep cycles. So 6 to 6.5 hours is good. So my preferred routine is 22:30 - 5:00 and then I get proper rest and still early enough to get stuff done. Also exercise in the morning as you wake up has been shown to increase hormones to help you wake up easier. But just like most things you need to get used to it so sticking to it for more than a week is preferred before you don't feel tired anymore.

    • @treali
      @treali Год назад +1

      Unless you fall asleep within a minute you're not getting the full cycles. Those 6.5h means the time where you are actually asleep and does not include the period where you try to fall asleep.

    I've been waking up at 4AM every day for the past 3+ months and it gives me around 3 hours till my kids wake up at around 7AM. In the first hour, I have coffee and learn german as a hobby and as a way to kickstart my brain. After that a bunch of chores and exercise. From time to time I spend the whole 3 hours working on 1 particular thing (odd editing jobs) or just have fun for 3 straight hours (playing 2-3 videogames per year or watching UFC on Sunday in Europe). As long as it is possible I wish never to go back to waking up together with my kids. I'm so much more efficient now.

    During my summer holidays from school I generally wake up at 6:30 and that is early enough for me. I can’t really wake up earlier because of my soccer practices ending at 8:30 pm. My routine is to wake up hydrate then be out the door for a 5km run at 7:00 am. Than I’ll come inside do a stretching routine and then have a really small breakfast. Usually just one egg and maybe a banana. Then, I’ll go outside to do my individual soccer practice around 45 minutes. Then I’ll do about 30 minutes of soccer juggling. After I’ll do all my chores I have to do for the day. This makes it so I’m done all my physical work before lunch. I’ll enjoy a pretty big lunch while watching RUclips videos and then I can relax, do homework, and go to soccer practice for the rest of the day

    I wake up at 5am every work day and go to bed around 9.
    I eat breakfast, then go to the gym (opens at 6) and then I shower and leave to work at 7:45
    When I come home after work I simply don't have the energy or motivation to workout so doing it first thing in the morning leaves to room for excuses.
    On days where I don't workout I hike with my dog or do house chores. It helps me relax after work.

    This summer I (36m) started waking up at 5:30am because if I woke up any later my kids would hear me and get up, too. It allowed me to get in a morning jog and egg white french toast for protein synthesis (see previous Pigmie). I was turning lights off in the house at 9pm and gradually going to bed after that. I think the morning hours are worth it. Just hard to be consistent every single day. I think 4am isn't necessary, however waking up at 5:30 eventually made me wake up before that time due to changing my circadian rhythm. I don't know what I'll do when it's cold out. Summer is a bit easier imho. Without enough sleep your NEAT might go down due to less energy, so you could gain weight. I wonder how waking up early affected your eating window for IF as well (I stopped doing IF about the same time I started waking up early, but my window used to be 12-8pm. Now I just count calories).

    I'm also less productive because I wake up earlier than my body's natural rhythm, but for the exact opposite reason. I don't really mentally get going until 10:30 in the morning no matter what time I wake up, but my job expects me to be logged in/on site by 8:00. If I've got enough time off to go back to my natural sleep cycle, I'm most productive late at night, but I've found that I can't sacrifice sleep for that productivity because I get too sleepy after being up for 16 hours.
