@@repactual4490 no, not really. But like you will need to swallow all your foods on the first to third day I guess 😭 and the real pain will came out when you floss it, the pain is like hell 😃
Got my braces 14 hours ago. My first two meals were pasta. How did I chew them? I didn’t. I swallowed two full meals of pasta. My 4x strength medicated orajel only lasts two minutes. I only got a wire on my bottom teeth, and on my top teeth my ortho screwed up the brackets and one is overlapping on my gums, the others are slid up. Medication isn’t working, and this is the worst thing that has happened to me since... everything.

Also i got the upper ones only for now and yeah its touching with my cheek which is also uncomfortable
I got mine on and they put these hard blue things in the back of my mouth to stop me from breaking brackets... I physically cannot completely close my mouth. chewing does not exist for me

i just got mine this morning and i was trying to chew when eating dinner slowly until one of my brackets in the back fell out 😭
Laura Villalba you should only swallow in the first few days and eat soft food. And it's probably them who didn't tighten it. Dont worry its fine. One of my bracket got loose too so i had to go to my dentist again 🤷🏻♀️
A lot of people say it hurts a lot; I got mine a mounth ago,and it was uncomfortable only the first 4 days,but it was totally bearable,nothing too bad,I couldn't even call it pain,it was just a constant annoying pressure,the day 5 I stoped feeling it.That's all.The rest of trays I don't feel any pain,only pressure the first 10 minutes,but again,nothing bad.

I got my braces almost a day ago, and they hurt like hell. You could reverse almost everything you said and that'd probably be my story! Just my own experience, though :)

Ai Ri i just got the upper ones for now, will be getting bottom ones after two months. It doesn't hurt although its kind of itching my cheek and it's uncomfortable and i can't chew im basically just swallowing food. But i hope after some time it'll be okay

I got my braces 2 days ago . I only got my top done . The day I got braces I didn’t feel much pain it was more pressure. I went to McDonald’s and order a Big Mac and fries so if you just got your braces and they don’t hurt eat eat eat!!!!! Later that day i took a ibuprofen because I knew it might hurt later . The next day I woke up and the pain was a 6/10 it wasn’t that bad . I brush my teeth and then took a ibuprofen. That whole day I took 4 ibuprofen . I have a low pain tolerance so it’s not as bad as it seems .I’m currently on the third day and I still have pain which is a 6/10 it mainly hurts in my front teeth .
Can you eat while they hurt? What happens if you eat something hard such as a hard cookie or something sticky like caramel? Does it hurt to chew those type of things or is it annoying because it may get stuck in your braces? I want braces but I have so many questions

i got my braces yesterday for me it started hurting around 4 hours after and it hurt a lot today but the pain varies
I can confirm getting braces doesn't hurt and you'll most likely just feel uncomfortable but after a few hours is when it really starts going down.

Okay, This is from my experience. None of us are wrong. You may be in pain while others aren't.
I thought I'd clear some things up since apparently I wasn't being vague enough. First of all, pain *varies.* This means it could be very painful for some people and not to others. It all depends on your teeth and how much you can handle pain. The reason why you're experiencing pain is because your teeth are shifting. So, if your teeth aren't shifting too much then your pain won't be as bad. Now, some people have teeth that have huge gaps or are pushed to the side; that's going to be painful. Imagine having your teeth move more than an inch, it's going to hurt. So to those saying we're all wimps, we're not. You're just lucky to either be able to handle pain or not have to go through as much pain. Once again, pain varies for everyone. Hopefully this helps those who are confused. After all, it's like opinions; everyone's is different.
(Also, I had a heart on this comment but RUclips takes it away once you edit it. Hopefully that proves I'm not lying.)

I’m going to my orthodontist appointment on the 25th of November
When I had my braces, I never felt any soreness. I was expecting it to hurt bad because I’ve watched a lot of videos about it and the reaction of people that had their braces but I didn’t. I was able to eat normal food. There’s a little discomfort but it’s nothing compare to the comments that I’ve read on this video. Is it just me?
Yes for me it was like at the starting when they just put them on but now when they tighten your braces it hurts

For all the people who just got their braces it will only hurt for first 2 or 3 days After that you won't feel a thing in your mouth this cycle will continue after every appointment your teeth will hurt like hell after every appointment but result are satisfying my orthodontist told me that I will get my braces of in 2 months i had them for like 1.5 years

i got mine and to be honest the most uncomfortable part was getting the impressions and the most painful part was a day - week after just trying to eat without it hurting my brackets

Have Popsicles at the ready along with something really nice and cold and a nice comfortable spot for when you get home. Ps. If you were wondering yes Popsicles actually do work a decent amount better than ice cream I recommend a popsicle. Also it will not hurt right away you will feel fine when you first get home and then about three hours to four hours maybe even five hours and you will start to hurt like heck make sure to have some tissues in case you start bawling your eyes out.

not gonna lie when I first got them, It didn't hurt but after couple of hours, my teeth started to get hurt and I barely eat food. I just have to get used to it.

So in my opinion I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping, I randomly bite down on my bite blocks which hit my bottom teeth and it causes A LOT of pain.
I suggest trying to sleep with your mouth open and you might need to take medicine because for me it hurts the most at night time like unbearable. And I do tend to wake up a lot, so I can say it’s uncomfortable right now.

I've had mine for a little over a year
When I first got them on it was sore the first few days , especially if I hit my front teeth together too hard. But it's not terrible. Ibuprofen can definitely help. I just got them tightened today and it seems like it hurts way more than it used to
