  • Take a look at one of my recent maqamat coaching calls with two of my students - recitation starts at 12:00 mins in, full timestamps are below. We recite from surah al-Furqan, moving through maqams bayati, hijaz, nahawand, and rast.
    Because these students are more advanced, we're doing more reading and less explanation of patterns that we might do in our Overnight Qari course.
    Follow along and repeat after me if you'd like to learn how to recite Quran with maqamat.
    If you enjoy the video, I'd appreciate a thumbs up and subscribe - jazakumullah khair for your support!

      thanks, I'll try to post more. I need to get/hire someone to help me ... I have a lot of coaching calls that have good stuff that can be shared here on RUclips, but it takes time to edit to repost here.
      As for your question, it's hard to give a one size fits all answer ... students often vary in terms of their recitation skills beforehand, like before the start working with me

    Salaam brother, can you repeat Qasr rule please

    • @IdreesAllyMaqamat
      @IdreesAllyMaqamat  2 года назад

      wasalaam, do you mean you want me to explain the rule of qasr on madd munfasil? qasr just means short, as in a 2 count. So for example if you read إنا أنزلنه then the alif maddi at the end of the word إنا would just be read like a regular alif with no additional elongation

    • @Foralluhaterz
      @Foralluhaterz 2 года назад

      @@IdreesAllyMaqamat i see. Could you give an example for the beginning of Al Baqarah and Al Imran.
      Can the meems in both cases be shortened or only in Al Imran as it is followed by a hamza after the meem?

    • @IdreesAllyMaqamat
      @IdreesAllyMaqamat  2 года назад +1

      @@Foralluhaterz so in alif-lam-meem that's a diff case from this. Madd munfasil is when you have a letter of madd (alif/ya/waw) ending one word, followed by a hamza starting the next word. This example (alif-lam-meem) is a diff case, not due to a hamza. There's a longer explanation, but the short answer is that in baqarah you have to keep the full madd in the meem, whether stopping or continuing. But for ale-imran when stopping you do the full madd, but when continuing you can do short or long.
