i couldn't keep myself from thinking that during the interview luca was sitting on a chair, trying to hear amir's voice through those headphones and amir was standing exactly like in that photo. weird, yes.

Let me also say thanks for the video and subtitles.
But can I suggest that in future interviews you focus the interview on just one of the areas you covered here. You've both clearly demonstrated your skill in learning languages and have so much experience in each of these areas (reading, speaking, resources, problems, etc) that you could easily do several detailed discussions on any of these sub-topics.

You made me consider something I had not thought of before.
I am currently learning português. I want to be able to function in Rio de Janeiro.
Early on I learned food words (including preparation and ordering). There were other important verbs for me (read, write, love, like, need). I also learned types of animals. This gave me a large choice of nouns to create sentences. Yes, "the butterfly fries the shark" is surreal but I am able to practice grammar. The fact that I am able to discuss food is great!
45 years ago, i was taught german in school. I never learned nouns and verbs that were useful to me. About all I can say is "I have a time ghost with my children's song". I studied for 2 years to learn that. Not very useful.

7 lingue... cavoli... mi inchino alla vostra superiorità.
Luca, nonostante tante lingue ufficiali conosci pure qualche dialetto?
Quando parli spagnolo si sente che hai l'accento iberico (io parlo quello messicano) e lo stesso con il portoghese (non lo parlo bene ma da queste parti è più frequente studiare quello brasiliano, che varia foneticamente).

Ого! Я никогда не встречала людей (иностранцев) с таким чистым языком! Даже после 5 и более лет проживания в русскоязычной среде люди таких результатов обычно не добиваются(
Вам надо срочно открывать свои языковые школы)

Football was invented long before American football which by the way is a poor copy of rugby. You are right Amir, we must adapt our vocabulary to the place we live in, it's just that I hate to call real football (the original sport played indeed with the feet) soccer. You are a gifted polyglot keep the good work, I hope to see more videos of you guys. Saludos de Suramérica
