Fun fact: Guppies help control mosquito populations by eating larvae, which means guppies have probably saved many human lives from mosquito related diseases.
Unfortunately, I will soon only have two small aquariums available. They are a bit too small for "regular" guppies, while Endlers don't have the colors I want. Fortunately, I have some theoretical knowledge, and I'm going to use it to breed my favorite Endler-sized guppy breed. Mid-adult males of my favorite breeds will mate with a colorless Endler female. Sons are double sword, daughters have something color. If you do brother x sister, at f2 you will have big tailed males, but slightly smaller than the bought male. Let this also mate with an Endler queen, f3 x f3. And then the f4sons are the Endler version of my favorite guppy breed. I hope the theory works in practice.
I have a female dwarf guppy that is smaller than the average guppy male. She's not sick and quite pretty, just very, very tiny. I also have a small male that looks a bit like a panda guppy, but with red instead of blue tail. Their parents are mutt guppies, but I put them together to see if they would breed. I think she is pregnant, but not sure if she will be able to produce healthy babies, she's so small! I am thinking about getting an endler male for her as a mate. For me, the colours don't matter as much, I just want them to be healthy. Guppies are such fun and interactive fish, I'm hoping for a few babies that will be just as friendly and sweet as their mum.
When I bought a male two weeks ago, he had a light yellow body and a light yellow tail. Now his tail is turning a deeper shade of yellow, and the small black spot he had behind his head now covers 1/4 of the body. At what age does a male reach its definitive color? And does the temperature affect the color? The first few days I thought the water was 23 degrees, because that's how I had set the heating. But I saw from the thermometer that it was only 19 degrees! Oh dear! I increased the temperature. Now they swim around a lot happier. But did the higher temperature also have an effect on the color?
Yes, possibly. Guppy lose color when the temperature either too low or too high. When the temperature is low, guppies will become less active and colors will be impacted.
I have a pregnant guppy (an accident breeding at a pet store when a boy got put in the girl tank) and the guppy is still young and not quite an adult yet. Should I he worried about her or her babies?
Guppies get pregnant only after they mature. So she may be firsttime expecting mother, but she knows how to handle. As you see in video, only her belly become big g and flat in bottom, separate her to different tank to give birth.
I don't have a special breed that I want to maintain. But I want to prevent my guppy stock from becoming deformed and sickly due to inbreeding. Unfortunately, you often see diseases in guppies in Dutch pet stores. So it is a problem to buy new guppies. But I have come up with a solution! I know how to separate young guppies by gender after just two or three weeks. And if I put a new male in quarantine, he will have three virgins for company. And if there are adult daughters and sons, I choose what to do: "Do I replace some breeding females with the daughters of the new man or do I add the sons of the new man to my breeding group."
The female of the kingfisher has more color than the male. The female pike reaches one and a half meters in length, males grow to 90 centimeters. Mrs. Tiger Spider is three to four times larger than Mr. and has beautiful markings, while the male is dull beige.
eating fry as they cofused guppy fries as other live food. it caused by guppy fries swimming action. keep guppy fries for while and can swim fast as normal will avoid this issue.
i was told to not worry if my female guppies die after giving birth, because they say is normal, but I think with medicine I should be able to help them recover and live longer
Repetitive Inbreeding may lead to genetically defective frys. Unfortunately it’s very common on home community aquariums. Preventing looks simple, but often it’s tricky process. In general, below are the tips to reduce inbreeding at my tanks. 1. Don’t keep parents and kids (from same parents) in same tank for longtime. 2. Buy few new guppies from different breeder/stores every 2 months and mix them with your tank. 3. If you have different tank setups, mix them every few months. 4. If you don’t want the frys, just leave them in same tank with adults. They eat them to control population.
Usually, it happens due to various reasons. But for better recovery, 1. Don’t add them to their regular table with other males right away. Give them couple of days in separate tank with good water quality. 2. Add almond leaves and feed high protein food for couple of days before putting her back with male. These might help for quick recovery.

]l. I have been studying guppies for 55 years. And five years ago I saw homosexual behavior in male netgupping for the first time. That was very annoying, because I needed those guys to achieve my ideal. And I saw homosexual behavior at Endlers in the pet store last week. For safety's sake, I took a pair of a different breed. But unfortunately that male is also not interested in the female. Hopefully the female has been impregnated by another male. HOW DO GUPES BECOME/ARE HOMOPHIL?
I have observed too. But I don’t know it’s exactly Homephil behavior. I thought it’s lack of females in tank. I felt as long as female to male ratio is good, I have not observed much of such behavior.

Yeah, even I couldn’t control my guppy tank population in past. They breed crazy. So I use to add few female bettas to guppy tank to help me. 😁😁

All male in the animal kingdom are beautiful compared to female

True that male are dominant in animal kingdom, they are prettiest
Not true all genders if animals are beautifully unique exept for mosquitos

How long it's take for baby to grow big??
Usually it’s about 4-6 months based on the food nutrients that they take.

Yes, you can very well recover the female after giving birth
I live in India and the avg temperature is 30°c-35°c
Can i still breed?
Yes, people do all the time in India. But avoid direct sunlight to your breeding tank.
can you find a prevent all you fish from inbreeding

It a song called blue dream

My guppy fry is almost about 4 months old but he is small in size. He is not as big as his dad. Can u tell me why it's happening?
It happens due to food type he takes and how much he eats. It’s possible, even in same batch some looks way smaller than others.
@@aquadiaryofficial I feed them pellets and tubifex worm.
It usually takes a while to grow depending on temperature and food
