Today we are looking at the evolution of Anniversary Units animations that exist in Dokkan Battle (F2P cards excluded). This is a great time to look at all the Tanabata unit animations because of the LR AGL Broly & LR PHY Gogeta dropping on Global that has been released with stunning animations!

it honestly feels crazy how we went from sprites holding a ball of energy and releasing it to making near 1:1 replicas of *movies*

At this point I'm starting to wonder if they're just taking clips from movies, editing out the enemy, then programming the sprites to go where the enemy was

7th was my best one ngl. I remember it was during the covid and all of us have to stay at home, just when I was about to die of boredomness the 7th anni showed up. It was peak asf, especially the animation and the ost

I love a unit in special, that i didn't play dokkan on their time (i loved dbl and thought dbzdb was just control v animations) but i Completely Love Teq VB, It's not only my favourite character but one of the firsts LR's i've managed to eza on 8th anniversary (yes, i'm a "newbie") and if he's not top, i'll make sure to make him one of the best teams (His eza was so op on its moment that he even got new ost 🤑🤑)

You know one area where the 9th anni dropped the ball a lot. Voice acting. Where the hell are my screams, grunts and so on man.broly has like one grunt before a scream that never comes, gogeta a grunt and a line. The gammas are missing screams and Beast is the only one without missing audio, cuz he only has 2 lines that are animated, so it poses no issues there.
Like it's simple. You know how characters have a 2 part scream? One is like a preparation and the other is the real scream. Why do both gogeta and broly only have the first one. Another character i have such issues with is Int MaGOAT Jr. But at least with he we have the big line screamed out "DIE", unlike all of ninth anni (again, without gohan).
At this point, there's a reason why I see 7th and 8th, WWDC and Tanabata of 2021-2024 (Blue duo's mid anikations pre-transformations aside, cuz we got the full package voice acting-wisd), as well as to a lesser degree 6th 5th anni (not a fan of how they splice the cuts of animation from from 130 for Goku which is also distracting me woth broly. Things ain't flowing like I fewl they should. Vegeta is good though and the Blue fusions get a pass, cuz despite the silent screams, they are older) to be complete packages. You get the voice acting, the clean animation with no awkward cuts or sections that look like they are old or incomplete, you don't get mute screams. It's all complete. The new ui goku is there too for the most part aside from these two weird cuts of mui punching in 2 fps 2017 style, but that's almost nothing in hindsight. You can even get the super heroes units in there. They may not have lip flaps, but the animations are, consistent, good looking, with voice acting where it needs to be and with Phy Ulthan beatong the living hell out of Beast animation quality-wise
To many these are minor complaints, but as a newbie animator, it just saps my appreciation for many units cuz I see it and can't unsee it, though I get that this is partially a me problem. However it does make me feel scared for 10th anni. I just hope that it can look on a level comparable to 7th and 8th anni.

5th anniv was the biggest jump in animations, the gogeta str was absolutely insane and to this day he still looks amazing, comparable to the 9th anniv one

To celebrate our first decade we will be releasing LR Jaco aswell as LR Bubbles & Gregory! Dont worry guys, LR Kid Buu will release during the 100th anniversary because we are dokkan!

@@legendaryred24 i remamber running 3 year anni units at 6th anni when powerfull comeback was meta and have beaten most difficult events like lge gt. I will never forget battle of wits mission, i fuckin screamed out of frustation

Was the 2018 that kaioken Goku came out different from the 2018 LR Gogeta (Pre Transformed) came out?
So yes they did it really weird bc at that time they released those Goku’s and Vegeta’s unawakened for year 3 but awakened in year 4 so I put them on there once for year 3 when they originally came out but with their awakened animations bc they look better

2022 is not Broly Trio, that is STR Broly who has an animation similar to theirs.

Dear Diary, i beg for world that tomorrow i can skip class for the best thing ever, called dokkan, i prefer being shafted that having a 12 hour class (not really 12 hours but i spend next day like 8 or more hours) and i beg for me, my mother, sister, father, grandfather, my dog, the neighbour, my bud, TheDummy, toshi, omatsu, bandai namco, that i pull gogeta and broly with 5 hundred copies, same for gohan and gammas
(Upd later if i get shafted, having 1 thousand stones or i spent good quality time)
