Obtaining barrier block in creative 1.16.5 (still works in 1.17)

Quick tutorial on how to get barrier block in creative mode
Basically this experiment shows that the barrier block code does in fact still work in newer versions of the game. We just haven't found a way to make it work in 1.13+

you can use a trapdoor to make the floating comparator without needing to use the update suppressor (of course you still need it when making the barrier)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Falling block swap is literally impossible in newer versions. Punchster gave me a proof. Bedrock item is kind of the same tbh. Every single one of the tricks used in the 1.12 setup is super dead. Savestate, silk touch override for bedrock, fire extinguish code, chunk population right in front of your eyes, chunk loading on demand. DEAD. There might be an undiscovered glitch with unthinkable power, and I'm very hopeful, but I also predict that with every update it's going to be harder and harder

u can also make it with igloo generated by structure block, but actual world generation dont give updates so it dont work in survival

And boom! Barrier block!

Structure block. Game uses it and jigsaw blocks to generate stuff, I think. At least jigsaw block in bridge type bastions.
