Honestly, true. You gain hearts for succeeding but don't lose anything unless you re-roll and fail the hard task, how many times has someone re-rolled and failed the hard task? That shows how much it's not just the heart regeneration that was the problem, failing a task and receiving no punishment is also a problem. Then there's factoring in gifting a heart, which can keep a player in the game for another session. As much as I want this series to go on for another 3 episodes, it's not the tasks that should be made harder, it's the game design that needs to be fixed. These may all sound like complaints, but I'm generally curious about what would the players do if x or y was taken away? How would they make fun content if they couldn't gift hearts, or failing a task took 10 hearts, but re-rolling and failing a hard task took 20? Or you couldn't go to the end/nether/deep dark, and hostile mobs took 5 hearts?

Thinking on it... Grian technically big brained the system. Magma Blocks and Slimes split off into smaller parts when 'killed'. Meaning: All smaller parts need to die for the mob to truly be dead.
Whoever made this task, was a genius. This was a great way to thin out the crowd and make people lose some lives and hearts without it feeling too forced
While I agree this task was very fun, I didn't like the "override" mechanic it made most other tasks in the session irrelevant. They could have just said "Help as much as you can"
I think this outcome was for the Warden vs Wither too, but some how instead of taking out greens, it took out reds, so they came up with a task much more agressive. This session was super fun to watch
I like this task for how it changed the entire genre of the episode. Secret life is so versatile and this is kind of why. Secret life is quickly becoming my favorite because every episode feels so unique and memorable
How come you guys don't do the "end of session wrap ups" anymore? Was so funny hearing people react to what others tasks were, one of the best parts of the videos ^__^
I'm actually glad they don't do that anymore. I like being able to watch other peoples' videos without already knowing what their task is because of the wrap up from another video.

Probably something that will go in the final recording(the Secret Life movie), but doesn't appear here, because it reveals too much of the other players' events.
Game developers actually have to take that into account when making their games. So it's actually a great hide-and-seek strategy to climb high up in video games, as Grian proved in this video.
this session genuinely felt like a zombie apocalypse movie. people were dropping like flies, the humans (and cleo) banding together and still being picked off one by one, the reconnaissance mission where the zombies all ran right past grian and skizz, and the coward surviving. definitely my favorite episode so far !!
If i had i nickel for every time in secret life a group got named with part specifying one member i’d have two nickels which isn’t alot but its weird that it happened twice.
Not really. He wasn’t in plan sight at all. He was very hidden and could only ever be seen on the if chance that someone looked up at the same time he was leaving and at the right angle
It’s so thrilling to see these normal, people you know so well turn into uncomfortably scary villains all of a sudden. You hear Pearl talk about her new bow, and it genuinely feels like they’re up against some unstoppable evil apocalypse. Amazing twist on the series, guys. I can’t believe how good this season is turning out once again. I’m on the edge of my seat, even though I watched Gem’s perspective and know what happened. I love it.
scar's bloodthirst in the life series is something really shocking when you are used to see him on hermitcraft, pearl is kind of expected but i get your point
Grian, next time you’re at the top of a ladder that high up, you can place a block on the top of the ladders, fire arrows on it; and break it when someone is on the ladder. All of the arrows will fall down in them. Edit: multiple arrows will still only do one arrows worth of damage, but if you lined one up on the edge of the block, it could be far enough to the side to give them knock back that would push them off the ladder
@@grianclips9803well, I guess you've could have blame the zombie task in the first place. It's quite a terrible suggestion since it ruins other people content for being overpower. But it's now for cutting down lives than entertainment.
32:27 Grian is going to test if the gaming rule works, the rule is "Gamers never look up" (i accidentally tipped "Grain" instead of "Grian", im a damn moron)
As a very small destiny streamer I can assure you that it does, in fact work. And, in this case, it... (expand to show spoiler) ...did end up working. Just as I thought it would.
Grian’s “Spawn an Enderman” strategy would’ve actually worked well, seeing as Gem was staring right at it. If Etho hadn’t stared at it (he was warned by Grian), Gem could’ve been killed due to her low hearts. I have a feeling it will be used more in the future.
I think next season you should let Pixlriffs just fly around in spectator mode and make a "this week on the life series". all of these zombie fights would be great to see from above
Replay Mod would work even better than spectator mode, since you get footage of everything that's happening at the same time even if the spectator person wasn't looking right then.
Ya know: You call it "the cowards way" yet you ended the session back on 30 hearts. That's more than most can say. So I'd say, above all else, it was the smart way. Also, you successfully hiding from Gem's hunting party made it quite the gripping episode in my opinion. While I knew you'd survive having seen other peoples POV before, I still thoroughly enjoyed finding out how you did it.

@michaelrhine3152 cleo "survived" by using lots of ender pearls while provoking the zombies. So the opposite of how to survive in a zombie apocalypse on earth. Also just hiding would work best because zombies would be eaten by bugs in no time, so you have to hide for at most a week.
I love that I watch Pearl's perspective first and always think where on earth is Grian and after watching this I understand that he's just hiding in plain sight
ironically, i think Skizz's plan of "kill etho to stop the spread" would have worked. Gem's task required that the most recent infected person must participate in the next kill.
the thing that made this session feel the most like a zombie story was me watching multiple perspectives where by the time i get to this video I know what actually is happening but other people react to the news with limited information and i feel the dread like "it's starting now..."
I feel like it should be said, but having the yellow names have something that's exclusive to them instead of being just "almost red" was so nice this series. Plus the tasks that kept all alliances on their toes and keeps the series so interesting. Notes for the next series!
This is probably the best episode the life series has seen for a long time, it was like watching a movie. The apocalypse was crazy! And Grian surviving to the end like the Chad he is was fantastic! Great vid as always!
I watched Scar's POV first and actively decided I did not want scar to succeed (After he was zombified), because that would've meant Grian had to die :'D I was so glad he survived
There's always a session where things go sideways and everything falls apart. It happens in every series, and this is the session for this series. I'd say there's one or two more sessions before everyone's dead.
I feel like the Red name tasks might have ultimately been the reason they had to do this zombie apocalypse thing. Most red tasks involve dealing 5-10 hearts of damage at most and only once at a time which completely halted their killing power, they were just too limited by their tasks to keep the pace of the previous seasons.
Reds basically have staying power, though. If they stay on top of their tasks, they have the highest heart regen ability out of all. If martyn completes 4 tasks in a session, that's 20 hearts he's recovering. Those tasks are going to be much harder to complete with a red standstill next session.

Whoever made this task, was a genius. This was a great way to thin out the crowd and make people lose some lives and hearts without it feeling too forced
While I agree this task was very fun, I didn't like the "override" mechanic it made most other tasks in the session irrelevant. They could have just said "Help as much as you can"
actully the orginal task that someone commented was to leash a chicken and carry it with yourself throughout the session.
I think this outcome was for the Warden vs Wither too, but some how instead of taking out greens, it took out reds, so they came up with a task much more agressive. This session was super fun to watch
@@utkarshkumar5225 they were talking about Gem's zombie task, not Grian's
I like this task for how it changed the entire genre of the episode. Secret life is so versatile and this is kind of why. Secret life is quickly becoming my favorite because every episode feels so unique and memorable
How come you guys don't do the "end of session wrap ups" anymore? Was so funny hearing people react to what others tasks were, one of the best parts of the videos ^__^

When in doubt, spawn the *warden.*
I love how Grian having to keep a magma cube as a pet is both a blessing and a curse.

scar's bloodthirst in the life series is something really shocking when you are used to see him on hermitcraft, pearl is kind of expected but i get your point

Grian’s “Spawn an Enderman” strategy would’ve actually worked well, seeing as Gem was staring right at it. If Etho hadn’t stared at it (he was warned by Grian), Gem could’ve been killed due to her low hearts. I have a feeling it will be used more in the future.

There's always a session where things go sideways and everything falls apart. It happens in every series, and this is the session for this series. I'd say there's one or two more sessions before everyone's dead.

@@alicekryzeif Grian decides to have session 8 be normal with no crazy twists then we'll also have a 9
It has been session 7 like... 3 times now (last life, limited life, secret life)
I feel like the Red name tasks might have ultimately been the reason they had to do this zombie apocalypse thing.
Those tasks are going to be much harder to complete with a red standstill next session.
the way grian and skizz turned to each other when pearl was describing her bow... priceless
