The name of this village is Garlapadu. Tenali Ramakrishna was born here. He studied in Devarayabotlapalem. There are no real historical proofs that he studied there but the info is just passed down as word of mouth through. generations. Tenali Ramakrishnas works though does mention this village. After he went to Tenali from Garlapadu he became Tenali Ramakrishna. Unlike the other poets he was a pretty who relied on comedy. In the Rameshwara Swamy temple in Tenali, the deity statues are donated by his family. It still exists today as shown in the video. The statue of Kali that Ramakrishna himself worshipped is also in that temple.
