I love this album BECAUSE it sounds Demoish. I like how raw it feels. I like how noisy it is. How the vocals are almost drowned out. The productions and beats are just so heavy and sick. And it was the first album I heard from her so I have so much nostalgia attached to this album (which may skew how I view it). Watching her perform this album live is so magical. Charli gained a lot of fans during this bedroom era I think it’s definitely one of her best albums even if it’s not as polished and perfect. I do agree the first half is better than the ending though
I have been listening to this album again for the past week! It's one of my favorites. She was so young! The lyrics! The degraded and less crisp sound adds to the depressing nature of the album. It drags you down. But the plot line is a toxic relationship. Track 1 is surviving bad times and being like yes we did it, but the toxicity is still there. You have a moment of going back to them, and then you end up in the same place again. Only to end up still loving them as always. That's true romance. Lol.
The fact that she wrote Set Me Free about the first Twilight movie, It could fit the soundtrack so easily Also fun fact, Cloud Aura was the only track from her mixtape Super Ultra to make True Romance, and it replaced the song Midnight last minute before release (which is tragic cause it would've fit the album more though it was really intense, I love Cloud Aura though)

Ughhhh ❤ I first found Charli during this era my freshman year. I've been out of school 7 years this year holy shit. This album was my soundtrack throughout high school and was everything I needed. To this day 1 of my all time favorite albums. ❤ I remember my mom driving me and my friends like 8 hrs in a snow storm to go to the show and on our way there she tweeted she was going to be at a record store so we stopped by and met her and she was so incredibly kind! (I may have cried when I got back to the car to actually finish going to the venue)
