You could cut holes for the word to your radio boxes so the wires are behind and not routed down from the top. You could also make trim pieces to cover the wire outlets. A heavier first coat of paint helps avoid that streaky look you were fighting.
Hi travistucker. Yes, this ground control station needs room for improvement. This is just the basic setup for something functional. I routed the cables on top as I may need to extend the radios on a tripod for later long range setup. As for the paint, your right. A thicker primer would have a better outcome. Thank you for the recommendation. And thank you for watching.
@LyndonsWorkshop no hate. I meant nothing bad. I'm just trying to give some tips. I think you did really well. I was going to type that, but my kid got her arm stuck in the gate, and i clicked post, i even thought about it after. Such is life.
@LyndonsWorkshop if you were going to use longer cables on occasion, you could use surface mount connectors and cables from here to there. Many solutions, really. Painting is never fun to me, i always have to do 30 coats to get the look i want
@@travistucker7317 . Not at all. I welcome tips. That’s how I learn by adapting to other people’s ideas. Yes, I wanted a bigger and better monitor also but is limited to my area as the laptop is blocking. For a bigger monitor you may need a wider case for more space.
Hey i love the video just one problem i don't know what the name of any of the pieces you're using😔 or where you got them can you make a video or list of where you got all the equipment also i love you're channel👍
Is there another video showing the tx rx devices that are required and how to actually control and receive telemetry from a plane or quad? Can I use my rm pocket as the tx and rx for mission planner?
@Emillsmailov. Thank you. I’m just using a generic one I got from amazon. I think they are just rated 400 meters distance. But you should be able to get longer distance telemetry radios depending on your application.
Can you fly the drone with that software, I'm a noob, and know pretty much nothing about this stuff. Buy I purchased a 600$ anaconda plane from ready-made rc and been trying to figure out what I need to fly this thing. I also got a speedy bee f405 flight controller to put I nav on. Have no clue how to do any of this stuff lol just been sinking money into all this gear. But I'm old and want to fly with a joystick.
@@billyjackswildamerica6326 I don't know but I download some software called "drone simulator" I'm using that to learn how to teach my self the super fine motor skills needed to fly a drone in a small space with out breaking stuff in the real world.
Hi GoldenCoastGTA. If you are into ardupilot or pixhawk based drones(Quadcopters, fixed wings, rover). This is a control station to command your drones.
Hi Hazimjamil. I bought it at harbor freight. The model is Apache 4800. It’s roughly around 20x15x8 inches. It would be nice if you go with the models with wheels.
@@urPainYT . I’m not an expert on drones but I’ll try to share my experience along the way on this field as raw and understandable as I can. I try to show the hobby not just the success but also the failures. Thanks.
So basically you made a laptop case to hold everything, but you can't take out what you want, because everything is screwed down. How is that better than just a laptop bag, where you only take out what you need at that moment? This makes.....no sense to me.
Hey, I've been flying model airplanes since the 90's and I'm very familiar with current transmitter/receiver tech. I'm trying to figure out how Ardupilot works with a ground station like this in conjunction with a 2.4Ghz transmitter. I know you can run Ardupilot from a windows based PC and code custom buttons and joysticks and what not. But why are you burying a transmitter in the bottom of that case and why do you have an elastic holding the right stick up like that? Does that transmitter override any commands sent from the PC or something?
Hi AnthonyCelata. I'm flying my quadcopter with a telemetry radio only, to run my experiments. Although recommended to have the 2.4Ghz transmitter as a backup, it is not necessary due to existing failsafes (such as return to launch, etc.)if signal is lost. I did include the 2.4Ghz transmitter in the video just to show the sufficient storage space below but I'm not using using it during flight. Also the rubber is just to pull the stick to the side as it is protruding.😁
Well done man! Amazing work, this content is unbelievably underrated
@apollonpotoudis9337. Thank you. Just sharing my hobby to fellow creators out there.
Now build a table that doesn't wobble like a jelly 😁
Yes. I finally got rid of that pvc table. 😂
Lol😅lol😅 u know u wrong for that one hahaahahahahah tooo funny

Open question. 05:28 what software is on the laptop for drone monitoring?
Sorry for the late reply. I used mission planner for the telemetry. You could also use Qgroundcontrol as what engineers usually use.
