  • Its surprising how different a ride can be when you travel in the opposite direction to usual.
This ride takes us up the Stang Forest, to Langwaite in Arkengarthdale and across the ford to Low Row. From here we ride up Swaledale through Gunniside and Muker before the blast up Buttertubs Pass.
We stopped for a while to take in the fantastic views on this side of the pass before a spirited ride back down to Hawes.
Every road from from Hawes is a great Biker road and today we traveled to Ribblehead Viaduct before heading to Settle.
After a brief stop in Settle, we headed to Grassington by way of single track road to Malham.
The road from Grassington we travel along Wharfdale, past the Kilnsey climbing cliffs to Kettlewell and onto Hubberholm. From here we head to Aysgarth across Kidstone bank.
On a fine day, its worth stopping on the way up and looking back down Wharfdale for its iconic Yorkshire scenery. The road down towards Aysgarth is also worth taking slowly to enjoy the views and avoid the sharp corners befor epening out to fast smooth bends.
From here we go past Aysgarth falls, through Redmire across the moor tops A6108.
We turn left towards Downholm and enjoy the twisting, undulating heaven of a biking road to Richmond.
We took the quicker Roman road out of Richmond to Piercebridge and then home.
All in all fantastic mix of roads, landscapes and views.
