My friend got to understand something in the movie business most of these people were already friends with each other it's sometime they meet each other at the casting office the cast for a part it's up to him they make a vow or pledge to each other that if any one of them get famous when they start their careers they would have helped out the other person that's why you see such a chemistry between two people because they were friends to begin with.

It's so interesting, I love the real world ideologies that can exist in comics and fictional literature, it's always to interesting to see what political aspects and histories are changed and what are kept similar

These two and their portrayals of their characters specifically in First Class and Days of Future Past were worth the entire hits and misses of the entire franchise period. I absolutely salute them and loved every moment of them in those two movies.

Say what you want about this film (which btw is not nearly as bad as critics are saying, if the 22% from critics compared to 66% from audience scores is any indication), but these 2 actors have amazing chemistry together, and played these roles to perfection. If i will miss anything from these films, it will be their portrayal of these characters. As for the film, I hope they eventually release the 30 minutes they were forced to cut cuz for me, pacing was the major issue in this film, and i feel like another 20 minutes added would have made a huge difference. Other than that, the acting, music and vfx, were some of my favs from any xmen film

Xxx 0000 it was really terrible. I can’t forgive them for what they did to Genosha! The script was terrible. The director is a rookie and it showed. No dynamic angles and takes like Days of Future Past. That Quicksilver scene is iconic and they tried to redo it and it fell flat. Script was boring. All the elements surrounding the Dark Phoenix Saga and they went “well a spaceship broke, go over there.” She gets possessed and that’s it! No twists, no turns. Sophie’s American accent is robotic. Ugh! So many things that are wrong. BUT I’m happy you got your moneys’ worth.

Agree. Even James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain met thrice in same films, twice working together as a couple on screen. Both of them even auditioned together for Detective Pikachu. If a chem of two actors could be so good so that they keep being paired again and again, then McAvoy and Fassbender could have the same chance.
I read somewhere that they were both cast in Danny Boyle's Trance, but Fassbender dropped out and Vincent Cassel took his role. It was a mediocre movie, but it would've been great to see them together.
First Class is my favorite X-Men movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. The chemistry between James & Michael / Charles & Erik is unmatched. They drive the entire saga, and it truly made the movies slowly worse that they got less and less screen time together. Their friendship and storyline is so beautiful and unique yet tragic. I'm also gonna out myself as a Cherik shipper, I really really really love the idea of them falling in love and how it would be loving someone whose ideology goes against yours, even if you in the end want the same thing. I think First Class did an amazing job at displaying their origins and friendship, and even if I knew it was never going to happen, I just wish there had been a romance involved. Luckily, there's fanfiction, and it's so sweet to see how James, Michael and even Ian and Patrick support the ship. Charles & Erik truly have an iconic relationship.
the struggle of who to look at when James is talking, like I adore him to bits and I wanna look at him the entire time but in the same time I'm tempted to look at Michael because the way he looks at James and the way he laughs at his jokes is way too precious to miss , there's so much love and appreciation there the struggle really is real
I'm glad that he brought up the Malcom and Martin comparison. I've never been an X-Men fan, but the very first time that I saw it Malcom and Martin immediatly came to my mind. I'm not sure if they were the inspiration for the characters, but I can really see it.
Well, I know that both Erik and Charles have a sort of deep mutual understanding, a respect of each other that words can't really describe. Even if they are on opposite sides of a conflict, they are like two halves of a whole. Basically, one can't live without the other. Something of a true and pure connection beneath the differing of opinions.
I've just been binge watching interviews with these two. Even if the films haven't been great, they've always been the best things about them. I hope the MCU retain them.
Marvel's job is so hard bc t's almost impossible to find two great actors who understand their roles as much as they do and have chemistry with one another. It's such a tragedy that a great start to saga with the perfect cast was followed by bad writing.
Critic ratings should go away. Seriously, just keep audience ratings on rotten tomatoes, but I don’t think critic scores have ever been accurate in anything. A 23% for Dark Phoenix is so insulting when the movie was actually great and well-made. Human Centipede 1 and 2 have higher critic scores, that should say something.
RT is a joke..they gave Sharknado an 82%.... IDK How anyone can take the critics scores from here seriously. This movie is not the best Xmen movie made, but its good for an emotional, dark, character driven film. Its very different from a typical superhero film, but its entertaining and has some of the best fight scenes i've scene of cyclops, storm and nightcrawler. The script is slightly lacking, but the actors, visuals and music definitely make up for it.
The movies were bad yes, but the dynamic relationship between these two is perfect. Marvel needs to recast them for future X-Men movies. Hopefully they look beyond the ratings.
Darkstar I think his ability is the very reason he couldn’t turn evil. Because it makes it a lot harder for someone who can literally feel people’s pain to start a war knowing that he’s the reason behind their suffering.

this biggest shame is that the xmen won't have these two in the MCU nor will marvel dedicate the time to these characters as they did in these movies. The best scenes had these two interacting and I never thought id like their young versions so much. Its a powerhouse duo.

The Rotten Tomatoes trolling with the bad scores was horrible. It was so brutal!! I get that it’s Rotten Tomatoes, but really?? Especially since Dark Phoenix has a high audience rating!! I honestly just never pay attention to Rotten Tomatoes, I only pay attention to audience scores and maybe MetaCritic.
Dark Phoenix is terrible. I'm sorry that you disagree, but with the prices of theatres ATM, RT has an obligation to share what critics think. Transformers movies are almost all horrendous, but get high audience scores because nobody cares about art when watching those films. For a series that started so strongly, it's upsetting to see it reduced to such things because of men in suits.
I'm really glad that Michael Fassbender addressed the connection between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr with Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. Ever since first class came out I had learned in school that the two characters Professor X and Magneto were based on those two historical figures. It was within the recent year that I read somewhere that someone at Marvel said that they weren't based on Martin and Malcolm and that they were more based on these two civil rights leaders from Israel. But based on me going back and watching first class plus doing a lot of historical research I'd say that Charles and Erik are more like Martin and Malcolm then any other historical figure that I could think of because just like Martin and Malcolm, both of them wanted a better future for their people but they are ideologies were total opposites. Plus in that scene in first class where Charles and Erik are talking about the mission that they're about to go on plus debating how mutants will finally be discovered by mankind and the outcome, you could totally feel the vibe of Martin and Malcolm and would it be like if they were in a debate with each other.
Wow this is an amazing interview that focused the essence of this reboot of X men: the relationship between Charles and Erik and how that shaped the X men’s stance in the world. You really asked all the right questions here! It’s great to hear what James and Micheal has to say about the characters, going in depth and describing their favorite scenes and how their arc evolved over the years. Based on their answers you can also tell that they are so dedicated to not only their characters but also to the other’s character and that’s why they can make Charles and Erik so tangible and human. I agree with James that not having more professor X and Magneto moments developed is a great opportunity lost in the later films( which is what makes first class the best one from this reboots in my opinion ), because they are both such excellent actors and have such strong chemistry together as Charles and Erik!
I know this has been said to death, but, do be on the look out for someone who looks at you like Michael Fassbender looks at James McAvoy. Also, 7:45, "the peak of bawdiness"? Starting 12:27 is pure gold material. Now imagine if they were cast as the characters they supported.

I'm glad that he brought up the Malcom and Martin comparison. I've never been an X-Men fan, but the very first time that I saw it Malcom and Martin immediatly came to my mind. I'm not sure if they were the inspiration for the characters, but I can really see it.

Well, I know that both Erik and Charles have a sort of deep mutual understanding, a respect of each other that words can't really describe. Even if they are on opposite sides of a conflict, they are like two halves of a whole. Basically, one can't live without the other. Something of a true and pure connection beneath the differing of opinions.

I've just been binge watching interviews with these two. Even if the films haven't been great, they've always been the best things about them. I hope the MCU retain them.
Marvel's job is so hard bc t's almost impossible to find two great actors who understand their roles as much as they do and have chemistry with one another. It's such a tragedy that a great start to saga with the perfect cast was followed by bad writing.

Critic ratings should go away. Seriously, just keep audience ratings on rotten tomatoes, but I don’t think critic scores have ever been accurate in anything. A 23% for Dark Phoenix is so insulting when the movie was actually great and well-made. Human Centipede 1 and 2 have higher critic scores, that should say something.
I hate that they do it repeatedly throughout the video too. That's really not necessary
They gave Glass like a 40% when that film was a masterpiece but they gave the female ghostbusters reboot a 64%.

RT is a joke..they gave Sharknado an 82%.... IDK How anyone can take the critics scores from here seriously. This movie is not the best Xmen movie made, but its good for an emotional, dark, character driven film. Its very different from a typical superhero film, but its entertaining and has some of the best fight scenes i've scene of cyclops, storm and nightcrawler. The script is slightly lacking, but the actors, visuals and music definitely make up for it.

Darkstar I think his ability is the very reason he couldn’t turn evil. Because it makes it a lot harder for someone who can literally feel people’s pain to start a war knowing that he’s the reason behind their suffering.

this biggest shame is that the xmen won't have these two in the MCU nor will marvel dedicate the time to these characters as they did in these movies. The best scenes had these two interacting and I never thought id like their young versions so much. Its a powerhouse duo.
A shame these actors couldn't get a more ceremonious farewell with a propper x-men movie. Hope to see them again in another movie
Am I the onlyy one, who likes this very strong bromance, of charles and erik, but would also be happy, to See them as two people who are officially in love with each other, not as friends, but also don't want them to get married or anything, as it wouldn't emphasize the tragedy of the film

The Rotten Tomatoes trolling with the bad scores was horrible. It was so brutal!! I get that it’s Rotten Tomatoes, but really?? Especially since Dark Phoenix has a high audience rating!! I honestly just never pay attention to Rotten Tomatoes, I only pay attention to audience scores and maybe MetaCritic.
Dark Phoenix is terrible. I'm sorry that you disagree, but with the prices of theatres ATM, RT has an obligation to share what critics think. Transformers movies are almost all horrendous, but get high audience scores because nobody cares about art when watching those films.
For a series that started so strongly, it's upsetting to see it reduced to such things because of men in suits.

I'm really glad that Michael Fassbender addressed the connection between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr with Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. Ever since first class came out I had learned in school that the two characters Professor X and Magneto were based on those two historical figures. It was within the recent year that I read somewhere that someone at Marvel said that they weren't based on Martin and Malcolm and that they were more based on these two civil rights leaders from Israel. But based on me going back and watching first class plus doing a lot of historical research I'd say that Charles and Erik are more like Martin and Malcolm then any other historical figure that I could think of because just like Martin and Malcolm, both of them wanted a better future for their people but they are ideologies were total opposites.
Plus in that scene in first class where Charles and Erik are talking about the mission that they're about to go on plus debating how mutants will finally be discovered by mankind and the outcome,
you could totally feel the vibe
of Martin and Malcolm
and would it be like if

Wow this is an amazing interview that focused the essence of this reboot of X men: the relationship between Charles and Erik and how that shaped the X men’s stance in the world. You really asked all the right questions here! It’s great to hear what James and Micheal has to say about the characters, going in depth and describing their favorite scenes and how their arc evolved over the years. Based on their answers you can also tell that they are so dedicated to not only their characters but also to the other’s character and that’s why they can make Charles and Erik so tangible and human. I agree with James that not having more professor X and Magneto moments developed is a great opportunity lost in the later films( which is what makes first class the best one from this reboots in my opinion ), because they are both such excellent actors and have such strong chemistry together as Charles and Erik!
I know this has been said to death, but, do be on the look out for someone who looks at you like Michael Fassbender looks at James McAvoy.

Ya know these guys worked so hard to bring a quality product to us. Frankly The Producers, Directors, and Writers failed them and us miserably.
When I see people say “ The actors didn’t look like they wanted to be there.” I think that’s total bullshit. Everything you see, hear is from the writers, directors and the producers who pay for it.
Dark Phoenix failed because of them. Their plan sucked. Even after Marvel Studios gave them the winning Blueprints

It's SO true! The relationship between Magneto and Professor X was one of the most interesting things about these X-Men films but for some reason the directors just give them less and less screen time with each movie. It's so disappointing....

I like to Charles Xavier and Magneto cuz he had a relationship together where in first class they are not getting along but all that changed when it gets into the original trilogy. One of the best characters Between Brothers finding hope each other. Defending the X-Men and preparing them for the worst as the danger room session
