i think injury really killed his confidence. The fact that he was bulldozing everyone but after getting that back fucked and a couple of knee injuries, he lost agression to make contact again to avoid said injuries thus killing almost his 100% offensive options.
I loved peak Ben Simmons' play style especially the flashy passes and defence, but the fact he never played for Australia before the falloff still upsets me, the 2021 Olympics especially cause he was apparently 'working on his game' pfffffffffff
Imagine if he was drafted to a team where he was the number 1 option. He could've been a 23 points, 10 rebound, 8 assists type of guy while playing elite defense.
@@desmondyatlin4265 They put him in position to be the 1 and he lacked the work ethic. He liked the lifestyle, having money, access, he’s 6’10 and lightskin bro was running through Kardashians and hoes. He really played ball just to maintain that. Then his excuse was mental health.
If I remember right there was a stretch in the end of his rookie season when embiid got injured, for like 15-20 games ben played insane and philly lost like only couple of games, so we’ve seen him in that position
Peak ben simmons was great, all jokes aside it’s a shame what he’s become now, dude was one of the best transition players and an elite defender, so much fun to watch.
Ben losing his confidence I think is a huge factor in his lackluster performance. Every NBA player needs to have irrational confidence to make it into the league. Idk if Ben could ever get back to being what he was prior to that ALT series.
He's the same player he was in HS/College skillset wise. Didn't take his scoring arsenal seriously, ball handling creativity to manipulate defenses, nor his two foot finishing creativity to finish in between week defense sell out to eliminate direct rim attacks.
I actually enjoyed watching Ben Simmons play; even if he could, I don't think that was as big as his was never being aggressive enough on the offensive end like if he post a shot I believe everything would be good
you know something's wrong with you when someone makes an essay about your career before you even retired
Used to be my favorite player. Bro was on a hof trajectory shits sad to see, confidence is really everything.
Why not anymore?

He should have won dpoy that year before the fall. He was locking up stars in the 4th quarter. They were scared.
He deserved it way more than Hobert that year. Simmons was guarding 1-5 and Rudy was being played off the floor.
Hee had Enbiid behind him
@@dbradandthem2727 embiid can’t stop the jumpers. It’s a team game and Simmons was an elite defender. No debate just facts.
Focus on negative aspects as that's normal for losers

Yeah but his shooting was always a problem
He was the number 1 option. He couldn’t/wouldn’t shoot. Crazy potential, but I don’t he actually worked hard to develop.

He should have played as a point forward. Similar to Lebron if I he had the confidence
