They only had 3 players who were All-Stars in their prime like Kenyon Martin, Jamaal Magloire and Michael Redd. That’s it!!! Kaniel Dickens (no 50) was the big star of the Ukrainian team Cherkasy Monkees back in the mid 2000’s. They visited Luleå, Sweden for a pre-season tournament in 2006. On our team was a 19-year-old Jonas Jerebko. He locked Dickens down almost completely periodically during the one or two games they played. I was the team photographer back then and I have this funny picture of Dickens giving Jerebko the evil eye from pure annoyance over the pesky teenager constantly being in his face. Little did he know about what would become of this kid.
Tyrese will be as he played the Christian Laettner role in the 2024 Olympic US Team. Maybe if he leads the Pacers to the finals or something like that, he will be inducted on his own...
The highlights of this draft class are Michael Redd, Stromile Swift as a goated name, Darius Miles acting career, Speedy Claxton as one of the last great nicknames and Marko Jaric swooping a prime Adriana Lima. All things considered, that's not a bad run, Lima was the hottest woman on the planet and making significantly more than him, it's an all time example of out punting your coverage.
Kobes class probably has to have the most all stars and best players. Almost all of the starting line up not only had players coming out the gates dominating, they even had late bloomers (Kobe) being either the best in the league or one of the top role players.
"The 2000 NBA Draft is infamous for producing very few stars, with most players failing to live up to expectations. This gives context and highlights the overall disappointment of the draft class.
This draft does not reflect Jamal Crawford's career. The guy won three six men of the Year awards and teams just misused his talents. He arguably could be a Hall of famer
I remember this draft well. Even in the first season, you never got a vibe that any of those players would be great. Martin was the best one out of all of them but he only looked good because he played with Jason Kidd when he was at his peak. Honestly the next few drafts were bad as well. This was probably why they changed the rules 5 or 6 years later. Hardly any of those guys could not shoot a jump shoot to save their lives. This class and the next few classes after were the reason the 04 Olympic basketball team lost 3 games and only won the bronze medal. Its the worst basketball team ever put together. It was so bad that they had to bring in D Wade, Lebron, and Carmelo Anthony after just their first year in the league.
He was never above average at his position, let alone top 10. At his peak he was a starter for teams with losing records. In the back half of his career he was a sixth man on playoff teams. Not contenders, just playoff teams.

Yo Kenya Martin mention so I hope this will reach at gils arena
Work on your English
2002 draft class was worse than this. Only Amare was elite in 2002 class but we can count some decent guys in 2000 class. For example Kenyon Martin ,Hedo, Lewis, Jamal Crawford, Desmond Mason, 3 Pointer Quentin Richardson, Mike Miller etc..
Chill bro. 2002 def wasn't worse than this. "Only amare elite"? C'mon brother. Yao ming(8x all star and HOF), Caron Butler, Boozer did his thing for a 2nd rounder, Tashaun prince, Matt barnes, Rush, Luis scola
And yes, 2000 def had some decent guys. Honestly, i think this 2024 draft got to be worst i ever seen
Excellent
Looking back at it, it may have been wise for teams to trade lottery picks in the 2000 Draft for second round picks in the 2003 Draft.
The 2000 class is the reason teams trade future firsts.
8 more All-star years for Lebron to surpass 96 class. 😂
Cap
@@Learnninggammess a lil' bit. but he'll be an automatic all-star if he will still play for the next 8 years.
I was only 14 during this draft. I didn't realize how bad it was. Being a Raptors fan, i enjoyed the Mo Pete pick.
Every draft class having at least one or two hall of famers is interesting. You never know who's going to pan out, but almost you can almost guarantee somebody will be great...
Congratulations to all the players out the 2000 draft yall should feel some type of way💯😂😂😂
2:55 thats not the 2000 draft class definetly
That would be the 2001 draft
1:58 the word you’re looking for is aforementioned***
2013 draft wasnt the worst in terms of players. It was the worst in terms of teams making stupid choices. Giannis wasn't even a lottery pick.
They only had 3 players who were All-Stars in their prime like Kenyon Martin, Jamaal Magloire and Michael Redd. That’s it!!! Furthermore, Many of the other high picks, like Stromile Swift and Darius Miles, struggled to make a significant impact in the league. Overall, the class lacked depth and star power, which made them to become the biggest busts of all time.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
What about the Purvis Ellison, Danny Ferry, Stacey King draft class? Who from that class did anything
Little did he know about what would become of this kid.
zion and tyrese haliburton have a great chance to making the hof????????? okay that's fucking insane what the hell?
Tyrese will be as he played the Christian Laettner role in the 2024 Olympic US Team. Maybe if he leads the Pacers to the finals or something like that, he will be inducted on his own...
Yeah this draft was so bad, I don't even know those two players at the back in the thumbnail. 💀
2013 draft was bad too, but definitely not as bad as the 2000 draft. I wonder if the 2024 draft will be part of the conversation in a few years?
Haliburton a hall of famer? LMAOOOO
When Kenyon Martin is the #1 pick. That draft-class is the worst ever
The wild thing is that if you look at the realistic alternatives, Kenyon Martin might have been the best pick despite being a disappointing #1 pick.
Injuries really hurt his career. Kid was talented
Kenyon had a good career. There's definitely been much worse #1 picks than him. But yeah it wasn't a good draft at all.
You never saw Kenyon in New Jersey Lol, him and JKidd were running the eastern conference
He would have won ROY had he not gotten injured the end of the season
I remember Stromile Swift having 1 Great game in Vancouver. The Grizz still hurt.
Mike Miller is my favorite player from this draft.
Dude was unguardable back in NBA Live 08 💯🎮
"The 2000 NBA Draft is infamous for producing very few stars, with most players failing to live up to expectations. It’s widely regarded as one of the weakest drafts ever, with Kenyon Martin, the No. 1 pick, being the most notable player in a class largely marked by busts and underwhelming careers."
This gives context and highlights the overall disappointment of the draft class.
Lol, Zion ain't making the Hall. That chance has long passed
I'd like to see a video about the crazy depth and longevity of the 2008 class.
jamaal crawford should be in the hall of fame
🤣
Im going to be watching Gil’s Arena differently after this
Michael Redd had 6 seasons with 20PPG+. Should have had more than 1 all-star appearance for sure.
Not putting dirk nowitzki, russell westbrook and kawhi leonard in this video is a crime
Darius Miles was pretty good idc
Pretty good at what?
Pretty good doesn’t mean anything lol. That was a nothing statement
pretty good at hating a rookie lebron 😅🤣
Miller got a ring
Mehhhhh that draft had a lot of long time vets and champions. Just no big nane stars. And trying to trash Kenyan is NASTY WORK
martin was a good rebounder
This draft does not reflect Jamal Crawford's career. The guy won three six men of the Year awards and teams just misused his talents. He arguably could be a Hall of famer
HOF is a major major stretch.
Zion to the hall of fame is fucking hilarious
This class was so bad it pulled down the overall caliber of play in the league for a few years.
Even though there is no all star, but this draft, these players became respectable role players
Bron alone has more achievements than this whole draft class combined.
I have more achievements than this draft class!! I'm not done yet😊
Haliburton HOF mention and no Trae is crazy
Them putting Hali over Lamelo is funny 🤣
lol Lou Ratchett used Speedy claxtons name in one of his skits, had no idea that was an actual person
crazy that the person who passes the ball the least is the one who leads the draft class in assists lol
the 96 draft was hands down the best class ever...
Zion Williamson will be enshrined into the "all you can eat buffet" HOF, definitely not the one in Springfield, Massachusetts...😅
But wait... There's more! 😂😂😂😂
Jamal Crawford not being an All-Star in his career is a DISRESPECT!
He was never above average at his position, let alone top 10. At his peak he was a starter for teams with losing records. In the back half of his career he was a sixth man on playoff teams. Not contenders, just playoff teams.
He played off the bench for most of his career. Knicks were probably his best chance to become an all star guard and it just didn't work out.
No it’s not lol..inefficient asfk..not a good playmaker..poor defender. Massively overrated.
9:28 😂🤣😅
you need to do a video on the best draft class
I m already exhausted 😮
Crawford will be a HOF player
Hedo led the magic to the finals.
The Kenyon Martin disrespect is atrocious 😢
I believe the 2000 class is suffering from the Y2K bug lol!!!!!!!
Michael Redd was definitely the best player from this draft.
11 of the first round picks played in the NBA for over a decade.
Injuries hurt Redd and Martin
Kenyon was the best player I think he was probably snubbed out of 3 all star games and all nba defensive teams
If Kenyon had stayed in the East, he probably would have picked up 1 or 2 more allstars. He had no chance in the West
@@holdmyweight3597 Yeap if he stays in the East he’s only really battling with Bosh and O’Neal so he makes 3 to 4 times also he got in a lot of fights on the court so a lot of voters didn’t vote him on the all nba or all defense teams. It was a 5 yr stretch where he was one of the best defenders in the league
I’m not saying it was a great or even good class necessarily. But I think it was more they were right in the middle of the stars who blossomed in the mid to late nineties and the great players in the early 2000s. There are some really solid players you showed on that list. 90s to 2010 was just absolutely loaded
Why are you calling 2013 a bad draft? It produced Giannis
Duh
