It is only for me a red flag, when somebody says: I was right for 26 years, and am right this time aswell??? It is hart to stand up for yourself when you were told a lifelong you can't be right, not even in the things about yourself.
Okay...let me just get this off my chest....ladies...PAY for your own dress and get what you want....your Mom, Grandma, MIL, auntie.....they all had their moment in the light....it's YOUR time to shine!! YOU do YOU....all the way! I am sick of seeing other folks influence your decision of how you should look on your day!!!! That's it...I'm done....
I made that mistake and allowed my Mom & sister to bully me into the dress they wanted. It was a beautiful dress, but still regret it to this day that I didn’t choose what I wanted and didn’t even get to try on what I wanted 🤷♀️
I agree but I would also add that if you're a person who wants to pay for the bride's dress don't treat her like a doll to dress as you wish. Parents who do that don't treat it as a (wonderful) gift but rather as a way to show their importance and boss around their daughter for the (hopefully) last time.
1st dress was perfect! Made her figure really stand out and the bride really loved it as well. I don’t know why you would consider others opinions..it’s your wedding day not theirs 🤷♀️
1st dress was very hollywood and very NYE but didn't really look bridal, more red carpet. not that the 2nd or 3rd dresses were much better though. i wish they had kept looking.
The first dress fit her so perfectly and accentuated her body so well. In my humble opinion I thought it was the best one she had tried on. It’s a shame she cared too much of what her mother wanted.
I bought my dress without the help of my mother. It was untraditional and I adored it. I put it on at home for my mum, after she knew how in love I was with it. When I tried it on for her at home I could tell she didn't like it. She didn't say anything, showed no emotion at all. Eventually all she could say was "do you like it?" Luckily my friends adored the dress and said how perfect it was for me.
The last dress she tried on was gorgeous and perfect without the belt. In my opinion a belt doesn’t work with the dress because you can see it doesn’t belong. Why couldn’t they have tried a veil instead?
yeah i thought the whole point of the beading was that it looks like it's cascading down the bodice and skirt like sparks. a belt just cuts the whole effect off.
the first one was the best one, I don't know why brides get swayed from the original idea because someone else doesn't like it. I wouldn't care about others' opinion.
She brought her mother along because she wanted to include her in the shopping trip and it's possible that Mum might be paying for the dress. The final dress with the belt and the bling is a compromise and pleased both Mum and daughter!
Even though I also prefer the first dress, it is obvious this bride cares a lot of what her mother thinks. She is the bride and not us so it doesn't matter what we want and if we care about the opinion of others or not. This bride cares so she is willing to compromise.
I hate that she didn’t get the first one. It was much better suited for her theme and she seemed to really like it. When I get my dress, I’m going by myself. I don’t need anyones approval and I don’t want it.
David Emmanuel can be lovely, but the way he always goes “My work here is done” at the end of every appointment and walks away, is something I could do without 😒😆
Also - he always says, "ooooh" when a bride first steps onto the riser, perhaps trying to sell the dress by implying his approval. Doesn't matter what the dress actually looks like - it is always, "oooooh".
Budget: £1,000-1,500. Dress #3: £1,567 ("just a little bit over budget" - PLUS the cost of the belt, which now becomes part of the cost of the dress, exclusive of the veil). Dress #1: £1,648 (10% over budget). Dress #2: £2,038 (36% over budget - WHY did they show this dress?). Even with +4.5% (plus the cost of the belt), a budget is still a budget. Why even bother to ask when the lowest-price dress is over budget?
they always do this. brides who come in with a budget of 1000-1500 get dresses in the 1500-2500 range. brides who come in with a 3000-5000 budget get the bargain-bin dresses on clearance for 750.
They show brides dresses In dress Budget ! The the bride does t like it ! She agrees to go over budget ! Nothing to do with the shop or consultants 🤷♀️🤦♀️
Comedy gold. Mom's wearing a dress that looks like a summer apron and is sporting a Karen haircut but she's under the impression that she's right about fashion (for 26 years!🤣) while wanting to add a belt to a dress with beads cascading down the skirt. It completely ruins the flow of the beading.
I think when family and friends go with the bride to choose a dress they really should focus on the BRIDE'S taste, not their own - regardless of who is paying for it - or not go shopping!! That first dress was perfect for a New Year's Eve wedding and would definitely have got the groom's vote!
It always baffles me that the pickiest person about the dress or fashion in general are usually the out of fashion not stylish people. I’m legitimately confused. Not trying to sound mean 😮
It may have come in 67 pounds over budget but they also have to add in the cost of the belt as well which is probably somewhere between one hundred to two hundred pounds. I hate that the mother had to be so opinionated. When shopping with my daughters for their gowns I allowed them to pick the one they felt most beautiful in whether I favored it or not.
That first dress was gorgeous.. Definitely old Hollywood glamour... Suited her figure down to a T... The other two dresses looked a bit drab... But that's just my opinion. Hope she looked wonderful on her wedding day
I actually didn’t care for any of the dresses. None were really that flattering. The first one fit the venue the best, but satin is completely unforgiving (every lump and bump shows!).
The way she said "we" need to like it and "we" need to put a dress like NO!!! It's YOUR day!& YOUR dress not your mother's! She had her wedding or if not she can go have her own! Hate moms like this!!
The second dress was awful. I can't believe all three loved it. The third dress was nice. It was very New Year's Eve. But that first dress was amazing!! I do wonder if maybe Hannah didn't feel comfortable in the low V and they didn't show that part. She went from Jlo to Nun, which seems odd.
It's not about the Mother ..... Sigh 😔 Mother's like that should just keep quiet 🤫 or be gagged from their opinion. Waiting 26years living through her daughter much 🙄
I am surprised that they didn’t put a veil on her in the dress she chose! But perhaps she only wants to wear a tiara or a flower crown of some sort? 🤔 Regardless, she looks stunning and I wish her all the best. 💗
She has an amazing figure and the last dress did nothing for her at all, I wished she stood her ground and chose the first one or at least something in the same fabric that is mermaid style
Her entourage led her astray. Out of all of the SYTTD episodes, this one I think about the most. She looked absolutely arresting in the first dress! A SHOW STOPPER, as if she were an A-list celebrity getting married.
And $1567 a little of a budget but people always forget those belts are very expensive and also alterations. So I don’t know why they don’t even give the price of the belts when they talk about the finished gown. And here you go.
Can’t stand mothers of the bride telling the bride what they like and don’t like . It’s totally up to the bride what they wear for THEIR day !! I wouldn’t take the bossy sods with me to the shop!!
what a cliché of a mother being envious of her daughter, horrible that she had such an influence on her, also looking at the mother she shoudn't be one to take style advice from, please mum take care of your own needs, grow up and support your daughter in being herself!
The first dress!!....the first dress!!....she should have stuck to her guns, and not settled....that first dress really flattered her figure, like it was made specifically for her....but I know that if my mom didn't like that dress I probably would have not pushed for what I wanted, either!!... compromise.... compromise.... compromise!!!....
Emanuel and the assistant in this are the most irritating people on these dress shows. If I walked into a dress shop and saw either of them. I would say, "#@$@ no!" and turn on my heel and leave. But I would only go to Gok or Jo and Al but I will never want a wedding dress - so it's just a theoretical thought.
It is only for me a red flag, when somebody says: I was right for 26 years, and am right this time aswell??? It is hart to stand up for yourself when you were told a lifelong you can't be right, not even in the things about yourself.

People pleasers are people pleasers you can't change them with a speech.
10000% AGREED
I made that mistake and allowed my Mom & sister to bully me into the dress they wanted. It was a beautiful dress, but still regret it to this day that I didn’t choose what I wanted and didn’t even get to try on what I wanted 🤷♀️
Amen sister!! Took the words right out of my mouth!!
That first dress would have won with a detachable skirt-
1st dress was very hollywood and very NYE but didn't really look bridal, more red carpet. not that the 2nd or 3rd dresses were much better though. i wish they had kept looking.
I agree
The first dress fit her so perfectly and accentuated her body so well. In my humble opinion I thought it was the best one she had tried on. It’s a shame she cared too much of what her mother wanted.
Only means one thing..mum owns the money paying for the day. Elope!!!
The last two dresses didn't even compare to the first dress! It was absolutely perfect in my opinion
Another episode of "Mum, it's not YOUR wedding!"
Yes I agree...
Boring...mother had her wedding years ago..I am sure mother chose her own dress.
Australia
Hahaha
I bought my dress without the help of my mother. It was untraditional and I adored it.
I put it on at home for my mum, after she knew how in love I was with it.
When I tried it on for her at home I could tell she didn't like it. She didn't say anything, showed no emotion at all. Eventually all she could say was "do you like it?"
Luckily my friends adored the dress and said how perfect it was for me.
I paid for my daughter’s gown. I would never have used that to influence her choice or manipulate her decision.
She shouldn't add the belt. It really disrupts the flow of the sparkles down the waistline
I loved the first dress on her, it fitted perfectly and was very old Hollywood like her theme. She looked great in all of them though
The first dress was perfect. Her instinctive first choice was the best
The first dress was amazing on her! Too bad she got talked out of it.
Sell, sell, sell ... to jack up the price, she is going to buy a veil but a belt most would not think of.
the first dress was stunning, the others were doing nothing for her figure
The first dress really flattered her figure. I loved it on her! I wish she would have stood her ground on that one.
"She doesn't know what she wants!" No, she does. You just won't listen.
“Off you go” as if he is addressing children. So pompous. “My work here is done”. Can’t stand him.
He's really condescending. It amazes me how he keeps congratulating himself on designing Princess Di's horrific gown.
noone can
If your old enough to married pick out your own dress
Your mother doesn't matter it's your wedding not hers
My daughter tried on a number of dresses and I thought she looked beautiful in all of them. What is wrong with these mothers?
Belt ruined the flow of the dress
the first one was the best one, I don't know why brides get swayed from the original idea because someone else doesn't like it. I wouldn't care about others' opinion.
I liked the first one too. But the one she picked works well for the New Year. As long as she is happy, I feel she will rock it.
She brought her mother along because she wanted to include her in the shopping trip and it's possible that Mum might be paying for the dress.
The final dress with the belt and the bling is a compromise and pleased both Mum and daughter!
FirSt one was the wjnnet
I agree
Even though I also prefer the first dress, it is obvious this bride cares a lot of what her mother thinks. She is the bride and not us so it doesn't matter what we want and if we care about the opinion of others or not. This bride cares so she is willing to compromise.
Imagine the dress Auntie Gok would have put her in… under budget, 1920’s or Hollywood glam.
She didn’t have self esteem issues or body issues so she never got sent to GOK🤦♀️
Mothers need to be as open minded as the brides are expected to be. Brides should try on every style first then take it from there.
I haven't thought of it with this angle before, but it is spot on!
"My work here is done"
You did nothing David
He didnt help shop for the dress? He didnt help the stylist? He didnt help grt mom on board?
He is so condescending. Doesn't even acknowledge the bride when the arrive for their pre-booked appointment. "So who's my bride"? arhh
She picked the dress that looked the worst on her!! Lol... thanks mom!!!
Old Hollywood was dress #1. I thought she looked amazing. I understand wanting to please Mom though. I really do hope she has a fabulous wedding.
The bride is the star Mom should compliment and not compete
What is it with moms and them wanting lace on their daughter’s wedding dress? My mom and I had the same issue when I married in 1981.
I hate that she didn’t get the first one. It was much better suited for her theme and she seemed to really like it. When I get my dress, I’m going by myself. I don’t need anyones approval and I don’t want it.
I agree with the majority here. The first one was amazing for her figure. Suited her ver well.
Mom, you're wrong this time
Mom didn't understand the assignment. That first one was a perfect 20s, New Years Eve party dress!
David Emmanuel can be lovely, but the way he always goes “My work here is done” at the end of every appointment and walks away, is something I could do without 😒😆
lol he's the tuxedo mask meme
DAVID: my work here is done!
BRIDE: but you didn't do anything
DAVID: [wooshes away]
Also - he always says, "ooooh" when a bride first steps onto the riser, perhaps trying to sell the dress by implying his approval. Doesn't matter what the dress actually looks like - it is always, "oooooh".
@@lucisue53 lol
he's never lovely
He always comes across so fake
The first dress was beautiful on her! It’s her day, she should have the dress that SHE wants.

When you go to buy anything you never reveal you max or you have not wiggle room.
They show brides dresses In dress Budget ! The the bride does t like it ! She agrees to go over budget ! Nothing to do with the shop or consultants 🤷♀️🤦♀️
She should have made Her Own choice
1st dress was hands down the best. I hope she reconsiders. She looked gorgeous in it. The others were frumpy.
Mothers need to back off. The daughters are old enough to marry, they can choose their own dresses.
Why the heII do they ask what the budget is? Then they totally ignore it. I hate this store.
The first dress was very beautiful on her. Who cares how long the mom has been married the dress is only on for one day.
I loved the first dress. She looked amazing. Not that she didn't look beautiful in the dress she picked, but the 1st dress showed off her figure
I think when family and friends go with the bride to choose a dress they really should focus on the BRIDE'S taste, not their own - regardless of who is paying for it - or not go shopping!! That first dress was perfect for a New Year's Eve wedding and would definitely have got the groom's vote!
Hello from USA I loved the first dress she looked absolutely gorgeous in that wedding dress.
It always baffles me that the pickiest person about the dress or fashion in general are usually the out of fashion not stylish people. I’m legitimately confused. Not trying to sound mean 😮
1st dress was made for her and was perfect for New Year's eve occasion
Why do they bring mothers. I agree with other posts. Pay for your own dress and get what you want.
How can yo forget this is about your girl & not you?
Exactly!!!!
Mum has not “always been right”. She is accustomed to being submitted to☹️
Dress number one, very radiant and stunning on her.Brides needs to act grown up and make decisions on their own.
Bride’s budget £1500 max…consultants put her in a dress costing £2038!! Why?
It may have come in 67 pounds over budget but they also have to add in the cost of the belt as well which is probably somewhere between one hundred to two hundred pounds. The first dress was PERFECT. T_T
I loooooved the first dress on her so much 😭😭😭
Is every woman so obsessed with their mother’s opinion?? It’s nuts.
Her mother is paying for the dress
The first one looked incredible on her!!!! Mom still thinks she is a little girl
Gok would have put her in something fabulous...I was underwhelmed by her selection
if i had a nickel for every time someone whined for gok in the comments, i could afford a custom pnina from kleinfeld's.
@@dietotaku But would you want it?
@@dietotaku because it's true
That first dress was gorgeous.. Definitely old Hollywood glamour... Suited her figure down to a T... The other two dresses looked a bit drab... But that's just my opinion. Hope she looked wonderful on her wedding day
Feels like the first dress was custom-made for her.
I hope the bride updates her bangs before the wedding.
I actually didn’t care for any of the dresses. None were really that flattering. The first one fit the venue the best, but satin is completely unforgiving (every lump and bump shows!).
On this episode of Say No to the Opinionated Mum:
I wouldn't care for new year's or anything .. just buy the dress that makes me look WOW
The way she said "we" need to like it and "we" need to put a dress like NO!!! It's YOUR day!& YOUR dress not your mother's! She had her wedding or if not she can go have her own! Hate moms like this!!
consultants shouldve shown her a fringey, sparkly, 1920s dress! and there could even be lace on it. this episode was disappointing
Looked so beautiful in the first one!
The 1st dress is stunningly beautiful on her!

First dress was best and totally had old Hollywood vibe. Well moms happy anyway bc she’s always right 😒
First dress was amazing on her. Chosen dress is too mummy's lil girl playing dress up 🤢
I am surprised that they didn’t put a veil on her in the dress she chose! But perhaps she only wants to wear a tiara or a flower crown of some sort? 🤔 Regardless, she looks stunning and I wish her all the best. 💗
Loved her choice, perfect for a New Years Eve wedding.
She has an amazing figure and the last dress did nothing for her at all, I wished she stood her ground and chose the first one or at least something in the same fabric that is mermaid style
First dress wow
Why do parents think they are entitled the first dress was perfect
6:07 I think the bride says it all, even convincing her Mum here
How many of these brides actually wear the dress that they pick? I feel like it’s only for the show but then they were something completely different.
Personally I don't like the 3th dress,
Can’t stand mothers of the bride telling the bride what they like and don’t like . It’s totally up to the bride what they wear for THEIR day !! I wouldn’t take the bossy sods with me to the shop!!
Ronald Joyce dresses are always so nice and in budget.
Think if it were me i would go dress shopping myself its my dress my choice hard to please everyone
Honestly I don't think that dress was right for her. But it's her choice or their choice.
My husband bought my wedding dress back in 1978 I chose it so I got the dress I wanted ❤❤
Mom was 100?% correct about dress 1 (liked nothing about it) and dress 2 (loved it). Dress 3 was the perfect New Year's Eve dress.
They all made her look older and frumpy!!
They always get the brides to buy over their budget on this version 🤨
what a cliché of a mother being envious of her daughter, horrible that she had such an influence on her, also looking at the mother she shoudn't be one to take style advice from, please mum take care of your own needs, grow up and support your daughter in being herself!

The store needs Essence of Australia ..
If you really wanted to make your daughter happy mum then keep your mouth shut its her day nor yours.
beautiful dress..............
never a belt was so wrong on a dress
You're right beautiful dress for New Year's Eve I love the sparkle too have a wonderful time and a wonderful life with your new husband.
Não senti verdade na escolha dela. Ela aceitou pra não decepcionar a mãe. Mas não era o que ela queria de verdade.
I really want to know how mothers dare to challenge the taste of their daughters on their marriage dress.
