Of course I picked the (KJV) 🤦♂️… so hard to contextually dissect old English words that aren’t used anymore. I’ve read so many chapters that just go way over my head, should I get ESV or NIV?
@greg6162 ESV is the better option compared to NIV, and easy to understand. However, as you grow in your relationship with God and His word you will be able to understand KJV a lot more. I personally use NKJV, but a year ago I wouldn't have been able to even understand that.
@@greg6162 Hi, there! I understand the ESV is more of a textual translation (word for word) while the NIV is a dynamic translation (thought for thought). They're both good; the ESV might seem a bit more formal, like a KJV without the archaic words, while the NIV may sound more modern. Some people like to have several translations and compare verses while studying. In the end, as someone once said, the best Bible is the one you actually read. Blessings!
I read the Bible every single morning.... with my husband. We ask the Holy Spirit what book to read. We take turns asking. I don't want to start the day without the Word and Jesus Christ ~ my Shepherd.

For so many years I had no relationship with God and now I am so thankful to have Him in my life. I see now that all those years I had turned my back on Him, He never turned His back on me.

I will study the word every day this week! I do plans on the youversion app. I was going thru some tough warfare, threw away my old bible which was a niv version. I was formerly opening up doors to demonic things(horoscopes,living in sin, addiction), full of vanity, depressed, feeling alone, but NOW I have felt the presence of God, I feel his love for me and I have heard him call my name! I will study the word of God every day this week. There are times where I start and do good, and then after a week or so I fall off the wagon. I struggle getting up in the morning and then get so caught up with life that I never get around to do it anymore. I know this is a tactic of the enemy.. he knows how to and when to stir something up and he does this by keeping me rushing and busy. Please pray I am able to prioritize my time with the Lord.

I use an app in addition to my Life Church apps that replaces your cell phone update with Bible prompts and it sets prayers and Scripture for the morning and the evening! It keeps chiming until you open it or snooze it, but you must open it to stop it and when you open it there is a bible verse waiting. It asks your mood and gives you a verse and prayer prompts for how your day went in the evening and that has kept me on schedule. The YouVersion Bible I have used for reading the translation that works for me and audio as well, and I have a separate reading app that allows me to easily mark how many times I have read each chapter. I hope it gets easier. I had to struggle as well to get used to charging through the Old Testament, but it has been totally worth it. Once you get going, it becomes like a habit and makes the day better. If the reading is difficult, do know that you can listen to the audio Bible. I sometimes put on one Book on repeat and fall asleep and wake up to it. That has helped as well! Peace, family!

I will study the word every day this week! I do plans on the youversion app. I was going thru some tough warfare, threw away my old bible which was a niv version. I was formerly opening up doors to demonic things(horoscopes,living in sin, addiction), full of vanity, depressed, feeling alone, but NOW I have felt the presence of God, I feel his love for me and I have heard him call my name! I have rededicated my life to him and I thank him for his mercy and grace everyday! Hallelujah 🙏🏼❤️

I can’t even describe how much of a blessing that this video popped up into my suggestions as I was literally thinking of how to better read my Bible. I was just baptized this week and I need more of his word in me and this is the beginning of a beautiful journey, God bless church family.

😂 I have died in Leviticus many a time! The Bible Recap has been really helpful to me in helping work through some of the most difficult books and texts. I love reading the Word now and am working to spend more time in it each day.

Great sermon pastor Craig. I got saved from pornography when I met my fiance a year and 3 months ago. I told God that I did not want to start our relationship with watching porn and I havent even seen those images or videos once. Thank you so much the encouragment with the sermons especially the relationship sermons.

Thank you! I came to hear "who to study your Bible." However, near the end, your words "God uses your past," is clearly the reason I came. A tortured, painful past can creep up and destroy a present.

I will study the word of God every day this week. There are times where I start and do good, and then after a week or so I fall off the wagon. I struggle getting up in the morning and then get so caught up with life that I never get around to do it anymore. I know this is a tactic of the enemy.. he knows how to and when to stir something up and he does this by keeping me rushing and busy. Please pray I am able to prioritize my time with the Lord.

I use an app in addition to my Life Church apps that replaces your cell phone update with Bible prompts and it sets prayers and Scripture for the morning and the evening! It keeps chiming until you open it or snooze it, but you must open it to stop it and when you open it there is a bible verse waiting. It asks your mood and gives you a verse and prayer prompts for how your day went in the evening and that has kept me on schedule.
The YouVersion Bible I have used for reading the translation that works for me and audio as well, and I have a separate reading app that allows me to easily mark how many times I have read each chapter.
I hope it gets easier. I had to struggle as well to get used to charging through the Old Testament, but it has been totally worth it. Once you get going, it becomes like a habit and makes the day better.
If the reading is difficult, do know that you can listen to the audio Bible. I sometimes put on one Book on repeat and fall asleep and wake up to it. That has helped as well!

An-Nisa; 4:171]
In this verse Allah (the Almighty God) is speaking to people of the book. Allah forbids the People of the Scriptures from going to extremes in religion, which is a common trait of theirs, especially among the Christians. The Christians exaggerated over Jesus PBUH until they elevated him above the grade that Allah gave him. They elevated him from the rank of prophethood to being a god, whom they worshipped just as they worshipped Allah.
