An absolute legend. I first heard him on VOA on my Short-Wave Radio, then saw him later on TV. Thank you for all your work Mr SSali, all the best from South Africa.
What a wonderful, honest, and insightful man. Sad to see him go, but if he is finding happiness out there, that is all that matters. One of the best in the world for sure! Good luck with your retirement!
Shaka Ssali remains a strong persona in my political & media purview of African diversity. I vividly remember my first contact with his show ( VOA's straight talk Africa) on a visit to a a friends house and while waiting for him in the living-room, his uncle was watching the program which was boring to me though cos of my liking for knowledge i gain from show like that...and i clearly remember Shaka asking a question and how the uncle shouted : Shaka tell them ! That exactly was how I knew the person of Shaka n always tuned to his every program. Long live the legend ! Long live Shaka Ssali !! Long live Africa !!!
Shaka Ssali inspired me since I was younger boy in secondary school until I joined journalism school in my country.now I became TV presenter at South Sudan broadcasting corporation. SSBC TV. Thank you for inspiration
I start to flow straight talk Africa shows when you host our President Hage Geingop president of Namibia. since that day I fell inlove with straight talk Africa and most of all Mr Shaka Sali you are very intelligent, calm all the best God bless you

A big salute to kabale kid. You will always be our kid not as kabale alone but Uganda as a whole. We salute you for managing to touch the minds of all Africans both in Africa and outside Africa and the rest of the world. Am more proud that at the time of your retirement, you have left our hearts BETTER AND NOT BITTER. THANKYOU SO MUCH. ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT
A great son of Uganda and Africa. A great journalist and a great leader in his own space. I didn't know he retired. My sickness kept me off tv mostly and I forgot about him. His show - Straight talk on VOA was apt. Content very fulfilling. Wherever he is God bless him
