- BobbiJo Cooley was having a moment...she couldn't decide if she wanted to be an agiltiy dog or a Basset Hound! Maybe she was just enjoying the love from her fan club! Anyway...she did eventually jump the last jump and complete the course.. while basking in the cheers from the crowd. I LOVE my dog!
Recorded on November 12, 2011 using a Flip Video camera.
She is a winner no matter how long it took to complete!!

Yep... Just like every Basset hound I've ever had. If anyone ever considers having a Basset, never forget that what you want is of far less importance to them than what they want.

Our basset is the exact same! Very smart and trainable (well, if there are treats on hand), but so distracted by scents! And then even when not distracted, looks at things and says "eh, is this worth the effort?" XD

I absolutely love basset hounds! Dog intelligence to me is not running agility courses in record time; rather it is stopping at top of pyramid thing to check things out. This basset performed very well in between-the-poles thing and through-the -tunnel thing. Bravo Bassets! Leave speed to other dog breeds. Bassets take their own sweet time. And so do I.
It's so good that you can laugh at this! :) When this happens with my pap, I get so frustrated; obviously I need to learn more patience skills! Lol! Good job!

Yeah. This is more like it. I just watched Diesel the Basset Hound run an agility course, and he smoked it. It was very un-Basset Hound-like. (Except for the part where he stopped at the top of a climb to look out the window.) 😀

I have 2 - they instinctually know our moods. They are not brain numb; don’t believe the bias written about the breed.

No fair, those agility courses aren't made for Bassets. More suited for a Border Collie.
It’s the challenge for the Bassett to own the course and complete it. And border collie is how fast of completion.
Both breeds need the mental challenge of the course.

Yes and that’s why dog is there running- to remain slim . Slim for a Basset is quality of life overall on those short legs.
