      @petyrkowalski9887 Vitali Klitschko retired him. Vitali just as Lewis took the fight on a 10-day notice only due to Kirk Johnso's injury. Lewis was saved by the judges, and the fight should have been stopped if Vitali had agreed to it. Let's move past that point. Lewis was mandated and had time to prepare for Vitali but opted to retire instead. Vitali would have knocked him out in the rematch as he knew he would lose against Vitali. Other than that, Usyk would school Lewis without any problems. Usyk is by far more skilled fighter, has better chin and conditioning, and is by far more skillful than Lewis.

    When I hear a title; "Four Kings" with Lennox Lewis included, my thoughts go straight to his HW era; Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson & Riddick Bowe!
    They where the 90's equelemt of 70's HW era; Mohammad ALi, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton & Larry Holmes".
    The 90's also had of course George Foreman, Michael Moorer, Tommy Morrison, Ray Mercer, Oliver McCall and Bruce Seldon up there, but they where marketed as below "The Great Four", with George Foreman iconic and popular but not regarded the same top pillar in his 2nd comeback.
    Lennox Lewis cleaned the house in his era. He defeated EVREY MAN he ever face in his professional career with rematches, and even if it was "freak-losses", he avenged both with proving true dominance including interests over his former conquerors.
    - 13 recognized world champions under his belt,
    - 3-time World Heavyweight Champion (2 was Lineal and undisputed) and
    - Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist and competed in 2 Olympic games!
    His wide arsenal of punches, dangerous power, superior body strenght and ring IQ made him the best-of-the-best of his era!

    • @WarioSaysSo
      @WarioSaysSo 2 месяца назад

      @@mattstyles1244 Hard to say with young Tyson, but what many forget is that they sparred each-other in there teens, and Lewis got the best blood shed on Tyson, but Tyson also made Lewis bruised up.
      They both got respect for each-other.
      Still, Lewis became the man who wanted more to have the fight as PROS then Tyson wanted it.
      Lewis said Tyson was a beast, but Tyson have also said that the strenght Lewis had combined with his athletic abilities was what made him early on concerned that while he was very good early, he knew Lewis with time would become great.
      Lewis had something special according to him.
      However with Riddick Bowe, that I have more doubts. Bowe never wanted to fight Lewis again after the Olympics, reason he dumped the WBC belt in a trash can after Lewis had after a BS negtiation long period accepted a weak pay-deal to accept Bowe's offer.
      Bowe never had the same killer instinct as Lewis. Bowe was tallented but also more bark then bite. And in 1996-1997 they was finally going to fight each-other, but Bowe messed up bad back-toback against Andrew Golota (Who Lewis smashed to pieces in 1st round).
      Bowe had to go wars with Holyfield, while Lewis could out-box Holyfield from distance = making it very hard for Holyfield to go warrior.
      Bowe became as PRO more warrior style of fighting rather then box, and while he was good at inside boxing, so was Lewis but he would never been able to beat Lewis like that as he would been tagged with big rights from distance - just like Lewis bombed Ruddock and had Tucker twice down.
      And another thing people forget with Lewis is he was a collected man in the ring, but inside a lion and if you was nasty against him, you would in the ring pay for that with interest - Bowe was one of few men who had got under that skin and Lewis would been a wild lion on Bowe as soon he smelled blood!
      Interesting, can't say I have heard many people score the 2nd fight for Holyfield.
      It was a better fight for Holyfield, sure he adapted from the beat he got in the 1st fight where Lewis had controlled the whole fight - and yet they robbed him in a historical bad way....
      I still had Lewis as the winner in the 2nd fight - And I was at that time myself a Holyfield fan (!)

    • @mattstyles1244
      @mattstyles1244 2 месяца назад

      @@WarioSaysSo A couple of things I would like to say is that Lewis victory over Bowe in the Olympics was very controversial. Bowe was clearly willing and able to continue when referee stopped him. Also, it was Bowe's slimey manager Rock Nueman who prevented him fighting Lewis in 1993. Bowe certainly looked more impressive than Lewis at that point The Mike Tyson of 1986-88 seemed unbeatable. I doubt Lewis or anyone could beat a young Tyson.

    If he used that aggression and footwork earlier in his career he'd be a massive name right now. But I get that he was cautious early in his career looking to perfect his trade, I do get that.
    He destroys Joshua in the rematch. Antony doesn't have the mental fortitude to win that. Some fighters get angry and more determined after a loss but AJ rematches for his ego, from his heart.

However, I do acknowledge that comparing era's is not easy. Everyone thinks their era is the best, or one of the best, and that is why the fans can only truly decide which era is best. For me, the best era for the heavyweights is during the 60's/ 70's, followed by the Mike Tyson/ Lennox/ Holyfield era. One weight = One champion please!!!!!!!!!

    I have a question for Lennox;
    How does it make u feel when people call u an undisputed champ when the WBO belt wasn't up for grabs for ur Holyfield fight???
    Massive fan

    Great boxer, great respect for his achievements. Calling Frank Bruno an Uncle Tom in public was well below the belt. Again and again saying that over different occasions was bullying. He knew the impact that would have and he did it anyway.
    FYI, Gateshead is not a city, and it's Oleksandr Usyk, not Alexander 😅

    It's funny the disrespect they put on usyk because they keep calling them a small man and the dude is 6.3" - 6.4" and Evander Holyfield was 6 foot 1 so he Really is not that small of a heavyweight he's an average size

    Well the fight we never got top see was Ike Ibeabuchi v's Lennox Lewis.
    That is the fight for the "Greatest Prime Heavy Weight In History".
    Sorry Lennox I would have my money on Ike. It would be a great fight though.

      Defeated every man in front of him that's another way to say he was ktfo twice, ran from vitally, first fighter in his prime he fought, didn't win as many belts as AJ, lied about bronze in 1984, beat mccall when he was crack addict

      So am I. He called the great Lennox a clown. That was mad disrespectful of him, and I lost a lot of respect for Joshua after he said that. One thing Joshua was right about though, was that they were not cut from the same cloth. Lewis was cut from Silk while Joshua has gone on to prove that he is cut from Polyester. Big up Lennox Lewis.

    The 90s heavyweights were miles better than the heavyweights in this last decade. I dont think any of the heavyweights in this day and over the last 10years, wouldnt have lasted, 5 minutes against the heavyweights of the 90s.

    Incredible boxer. Brilliant career during and after. And a not so good trainer (David Price, Audley Harrison, and damn throw Frazer Clarke in there, all took Ls after taking his advice).
