as someone from new york watching you walk through the city and getting nervous crossing is so funny 😂 we all cross the street like we have no will to live 😂😂😂
Exactly what I was thinking 😂😂 I’m born and raised in Jackson Heights, live in Turtle Bay now and you can ALWAYS spot the tourists based on how scared they are to jay walk haha we New Yorkers have no fear of god when it comes to walking into traffic 🤣
At the corner of the block with Urban jungle, near the popeyes and dunkin donuts, is one if my favorite thrift stores! i forgot what it's called, but it's so cheap and I find so much cute stuff there. That area has four great thrift stores, including L train vintage, it's my favorite spot to thrift.
Omg I live in New York and if you come again I definitely recommend Le Point Value. It is really similar to Urban Jungle in variety and prices. They almost always have $1 sales where they would have jeans, hoodies or blouses for $1 and have a lot of cool coats for $5
When you live in NYC but you have strict parents so you barely leave your house and don’t have a social life and have nothing to do in the city so instead your life is at home and non-sociable. Ahhh that’s life😍
I been thrifting at urban jungle for years now and they are amazing ! Everything there is very cheap! Every single time I go here, I always get so many items. I recommend
Erica D you talking about lower Manhattan apartments. In Brooklyn, Harlem, and the Bronx, you can snatch a reasonably sized apartment from anywhere from $400 bucks to $1000 dollars.
Omg you should totally move here living in NYC is a wonderful melting pot and an experience to live here! In my opinion Brooklyn is the best borough to live in I want to move to Brooklyn when I get my own place if you got money Manhattan is the best borough for you and queens is the most cultural out of all the boroughs no one claims state island as a borough it's literally the suburbs so don't move there and the Bronx is something else
LOL in my opinion, NY isn't as great as it's portrayed. The people are lowkey rude and at times kinda ghetto (mostly in subways). Everything, as you may know, is overpriced and kinda expensive. The streets are dirty and there's trash everywhere in most of queens minus bayside (where almost no apartments are rented because most buildings are houses instead of complexes) and some other areas and ofc long island. Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx from my experience of living in New York is a hot mess xd Most of my friends that live in the Bronx wake up to gun shots
Yeah, the Goodwill bins (first stop) are located in Long Island City, Queens. There is another location downtown Brooklyn on Livingston St. (regular Goodwill not bins). Near that thrift store is The Salvation Army thrift on Atlantic Ave.
@@ericad3850 yeah same ! I find the vintage pieces I have because of their fabrics tbh, old coton/linen/wool doesnt feel the same at all as modern ones ! I one found a 100 years old piece just because of how different the cotton felt
yesss!!!! As a person who can only buy clothes from thrift stores PLEASE THRIFT MORE!!!!!! More ppl thrifting = higher supply demand!!!! And that means fast fashion will slow down and there will be an eco friendly change for everyone 💖💖💖💖💖💖 We love an eco friendly youtuber that uses their platform for good 🌱💖💖💖
I was in NY on vacation a few weeks ago and sadly didn't find any good thrift stores. Though my friend is going there soon. Does anyone have more suggestions on where she could go thrifting?❤️
Urban Jungle is the best! (But an absolute nightmare trying to fit all those jumpers and denim jackets in my luggage when I’m already at my weight allowance)
Omg you guys made it to the Goodwill in Queens! I'm from Toronto but fly to NYC for work almost every week and make it a point to make a quick stop there! I always find some super gems ( Found an authentic Fendi purse worth 3k!!!! ) You legit have to have your RBF on so no one messes with your stash! lol But the payout is so worth it!
I’m surprise he didn’t get yelled at Head for having your camera at that place. Depends in Long Island city are crazy!! Very aggressive people can be there.
there was a really great smaller L train vintage right by urban jungle but i think its gone now :( next time you guys come to new york city definitely check out buffalo exchange in chelsea - designer label heaven! its huge also if you feel like venturing to real outerboro new york, myunique in jamaica and the bronx are also amazing. they feel lke thrift stores you'd find in the suburbs. they also have stores in long island and jersey. there was one in downtown brooklyn and it was the best but they closed down a few years ago :'( i find vintage designer here pretty often (lots of old dior, chanel) super cheap, old workwear, amazing vintage dresses etc
you should have hit up beacons closet! its a better version of Platos closet, more vintage with the same/better prices. there's one in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan ! def check it out next trip
See the thing is, I've got like 7 thrift stores in my city but they're all very lacking in both organisation and the overall stuff sold there.. I can go to every single one of 'em and find nothin x.x I desperately want to go one of these places where instead of individual people selling stuff it's all organised in groups of clothes and you can actually find ish
Hi I will love to go with u girls thrift shopping I love ya ….come down to my sister place in Ansonia ct best place also they help domestic violence which it’s a amazing ❤️
