I think that wallpaper turned out a better shade than what was advertised! It really works with the home! Your husband has great carpentry skills even though he isn't a carpenter. He should be proud. Beautiful space!
Oh my goodness how beautiful! Your husband did an amazing job on the cabinet and the trim just makes it all tie together! You guys are quite the team. Congratulations it’s beautiful!
Your cozy home with all its warm, welcoming, timeless touches has always been my favorite home on RUclips. It is simply classic. You and Dan are a wonderful team. I love how you both make your dwelling grow and adjust to meet the changing needs of your sweet family. Blessings! 💚
Wow he did an amazing job building this pantry insert! You did great painting it and installing the wallpaper. I know you will enjoy it so much! Love it!
What a beautiful space you both created for your family. I loved watching the teamwork. It makes it feel extra special. I feel like we are very similar when it comes to little details. People will often comment or even tease me for enjoying these little extra details. However, it makes me happy and brings ME joy and I guess that's all that really matters ❤
Dan did an amazing job on the pantry! 😮 an idea I thought of in your spice cupboard is putting some of that wall paper on your vent, that would look pretty when you open up the doors! 😊 that is if you have leftover paper!
I love everything about your pantry ... the wallpaper, paint color, stain, hardware, deep drawers, trim....you are so fortunate to have a husband that not only sees your dream but can build and bring it to life. Enjoy!! #teamwork
You and Dan did a beautiful job! I love the warmth and cozy it adds to the kitchen. I have a pantry in my kitchen that is basically the same size and now this makes me want to redo ours.
It looks absolutely lovely Hilary! It looks like such an expensive update. Your hubby did an amazing job on those drawers. He has wood working potential. Love the color and the wallpaper. So beautiful!
Beautiful. Maybe a big basket on top as a holding station 😊 You are blessed to have a handy husband. My husband would of threw up a couple shelves and call it a day. This project was made out of love. 😊
I went ahead and tried that suggestion with a large basket we keep on our refrigerator and I loved the look! Our fridge looked empty though, so I'll have to keep an eye out for another large rectangular basket 💛
Great job!!! I think you really made the most of this space possible. It looks so good with the wallpaper, and I love a new gray paint color. It was very smart of Dan to construct the drawers like he did. He's a keeper.😄💕
Amazing! It’s like a cozy little room all of its own. It would make a great coffee station, too with a power strip to run anything electric. Also to avoid banging up your drawer fronts, consider adding felt strips or just a small felt squares to the inside of your door molding so the drawers would bump into them. And with Valentine’s Day just yesterday, this kind of thing to me shows love in action. Flowers, cards, etc. are nice but your husband making this effort for you is 100 times better.
Nice job you two! It was worth the 3 weeks work and wait. Other than the cabinet of wonderful drawers, my favourite part that makes it so cute is the baby shelf with the mini corbels. That little shelf will come in so handy. It all ties into the rest of your house beautifully.
We lived in Vermont for ten years and had friends who made maple syrup. They all kept theirs in the refrigerator but most of them bought or made it by the gallon.(It takes forty gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup.) Hillary’s family probably does use that size up in time. Interesting fact that if it does develop a little mold on the surface, you can carefully skim it off, boil and use.(Too precious to discard!)
Nicely done. Dan did a great job! The wall paper was a very nice touch! I too use wide mouth jars with the white lids in my pantry. I have my broom and mop in my pantry too. I call my pantry The Mercantile (an Ode to Little House)
So well done! Older homes tend to have what seems such awkward storage spaces. Our living style has changed over the years, but you and your husband certainly did a lively job with this extra little storage area.
As your kids grow into teens...a low basket for phones and a strip charger could be perfect on that small shelf. It could be a nightly routine as they grab after school snack...and keep phones there for morning.
The pantry is beautiful! I love wallpaper, especially flowers ❤ I don't think anything is a better organization tool than a drawer. They hold so much and you can see and access everything. We are replacing all our base cabinets with large drawers in our reno and I'm so excited to put everything in them. I also love to work together with my husband on projects..they say it stresses a marriage but we've been married 35 years and had a whole lot of fun doing a lot of different projects together 😊
What a lovely pantry space! The cabinet your husband built looks very professional. The wallpaper, hardware and even the broom and mop are very nice. Those little touches are the icing on the cake!
Love, love, love the pantry! It looks amazing. Dan did a wonderful job, but I'm not surprised, He is such a talented man. I would want to leave the pantry door open all the time just to gaze at it! Your cottage decor is unique and lovely!💗
A lovely upgrade. If you ever install drawers again, consider putting the rails under the drawers so you can maximize the width of the drawer and get more storage space. For seasonal “ extra space consider a narrow floating shelf simply put over the two pieces of wood extended out on the two side walls from your microwave shelf. When you don’t need it you can simply take it off and during holidays, for example, you can have a shallow shelf in front of your microwave to hold some seasonal extras.
I was thinking the same thing! There was a lot of thick wood and wasted space on either side of the drawers. Looks fine when they're closed, but less actual storage space inside the drawers left to right.
Part of the building process included making the mistake of building the drawers too wide and then they couldn't fit through the opening! Unfortunately to make them fit they had to be more narrow than the actual cabinet space in order to fit through the doorway. Hope that makes sense! 💛
Beautiful makeover! I love seeing a smaller pantry. I’ve never had a real walk-in pantry in any home. You may want to install a light under the microwave shelf. They have motion activated ones. Or put a tiny lamp on the butcher block!
Did I notice that you are measuring the kids' height in the closet? We do that with our grand kids!! I wish I could borrow your wonderful hubby! You guys did a wonderful job! Thanks for sharing your home with us! Now you've got me up and purging!!
Very nice job! Isn’t that how it always works out…you think a project won’t take long yet it does. I always tell my husband that if we plan a weekend to do a project its not enough time. Our Sunroom was supposed to be a weekend job…turned into a summer project and we had to hire people to install the new floor…budgeted and spent 3x’s that too! But, now its beautiful and cozy and a great space! I also have a small pantry and kitchen and found your video inspiring and just the motivation I need to reorganize my space!!!
The reality is, once you have the space opened up and messy you might as well tackle all the little projects, and they add up, time and budget-wise. Always worth it in the end when everything's cleaned up and you can just enjoy knowing what all was accomplished 💛
Love the Pantry Makeover! Wouldn't it be fun to make it a Baking Centre...with all your baking needs in there, sugar, flour, sprinkles, measuring cups and baskets for cookie cutters, etc.! You are both so creative and handy with projects!
Its beautiful. Put one of those tiny strip lights (or another motion light) under the decorative shelf to light up that gorgeous shelf and cabinet that Dan built. It's so beautiful, i swear i'd take the door off. :)
This was helpful! The ideas for organizing a pantry in a small space were practical and easy to follow. I loved how you incorporated English-inspired design elements to make the pantry both functional and charming.
Lovely pantry redo! Was thinking one small item - maybe add a few under the shelf light that you can push on/off? Help to see? Some of them are battery powered so no hard-wiring. :)
This is absolutely beautiful and so inspiring!! I’m so grateful that this video popped up in my feed as now I really wish to wallpaper closets and make little nooks a bit more lovelier to gleam each time the door is opened. Your kitchen is breathtaking and I am definitely off to watch more of your videos 🤍have a wonderful day 🥀🥀🥀
I just want to tell you I’ve been a subscriber since you were pregnant with your first and did her nursery tour, I was a teen then and now I’m a mom of two and you’ve been and continue to be such a wonderful example of a homemaker! I have loved your channel for years and of course I still do!!!You are such an authentic, sweet mama! all love ❤❤❤
i love your pantry makeover and I especially like having the microwave in the pantry. My microwave is over the gas stove in my kitchen. We don’t have much counter space at all. At 77 years old, I have lost 2 inches in height and the microwave is hard to reach. Not a problem because we don’t use it a lot.
It's super cute! So much more functional than what it used to be. It doesn't look as cluttered as before, it's neat & tidy. I like the wall paper and the trim elements, cottage charm and charming! Nicely done!
Looks amazing! Great teamwork. I know from experience how wonderful it is to have a husband that sees your vision and makes it happen. You are blessed!
The pantry turned out beautifully. I love your style . Dan did a great job on those drawers . I love how neat and clean your home always looks . Thanks for sharing .

Hi Hilary! YAY!!! What a fun little space!! You could hide from your kids in there!! Hahah!! 😉Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing!! 🥰
You and Dan did a beautiful job! I love the warmth and cozy it adds to the kitchen. I have a pantry in my kitchen that is basically the same size and now this makes me want to redo ours.

Looks so nice. Always fun to have a new beautiful functional space.

Yes and amen! And yes we will be adding some padded strips for that very reason 💛
It came out so pretty. It really fits the English cottage asthetic that runs throughout your house. So charming.
Oh wow! Pantry looks functional and very nice. Thanks for sharing, Hilary ❤
Gorgeous! Well done.

Just FYI maple syrup is supposed to be stored in the refrigerator after opening. It doesn’t contain the antimicrobial properties that honey does.
We never refrigerated it growing up, and I never have in my own home as well, with no issues. We also go through it pretty quick as a family of 6 💛

Looks so good! Thanks for being so inspiring!
Thank you for being here!
The pantry turned out beautiful. Love the wallpaper and your husband did a great job with the drawers.
What a lovely pantry space! The cabinet your husband built looks very professional. The wallpaper, hardware and even the broom and mop are very nice. Those little touches are the icing on the cake!
What a great space. Thinking outside the box with simplicity and functionality makes it seem like an addition to your kitchen. Great job!
Love it!! So funny I saw some peel and stick yesterday that I loved, I was thinking of doing my bathroom closet .Now I really want to.
Yeah do it!

How fun to open the pantry door everyday! Beautiful! 👍👍❤️

Wow! Great job! I was thinking, maybe you can get one of those rechargeable slim magnet lights for under the shelf of the microwave. 😊
i love your pantry makeover and I especially like having the microwave in the pantry. My microwave is over the gas stove in my kitchen. We don’t have much counter space at all. It’s beautiful!! Such precise measuring! It’s perfect.
It's super cute! So much more functional than what it used to be. It doesn't look as cluttered as before, it's neat & tidy. I like the wall paper and the trim elements, cottage charm and charming! Nicely done!
Wow! Great job Dan! This looks like a cabinet you can buy I was excited to see where it came from.
Your "new" pantry is beautiful and efficient. I understand why you leave the door open! You and your husband are both very talented.
Just beautiful and perfect for your family. Well done Dan!
Beautiful project! I know it makes you happy every time you open that pantry door❤
Love the wallpaper . You and Dan
Did an amazing job ❤️❤️❤️
Such a huge win! I love that you've created so many beautiful spaces.
You have rodents. The cabinet should be checked regularly for bite marks and rat nests.
Well done! I also love what looks like the growing heights of your children. My grandchildren do this in my kitchen as well!
Looks amazing! Great teamwork. I know from experience how wonderful it is to have a husband that sees your vision and makes it happen. You are blessed!
It's really just beautiful! You and Dan did a wonderful job and it is custom tailored to fit your family's needs.
The outlet in the pantry is so smart! Beautiful remodel. Your husband has now added cabinet making to his skillset. Wow!!!
It turned out so pretty Hilary....both you and your husband are so talented....lovely home!
Dan did a beautiful job and it is
Adorable…M♥️M of 5
Love❤it. You are so lucky to have a handy husband my doesn’t even want to help me to hang a mirror 😢
Awesome job Dan and Hilary! It looks amazing.
I love your pantry and the wallpaper. Just beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! I'm impressed!
Looks great! I was wondering if you could link the motion sensor light?
Great job! It’s so adorable. I actually liked the hint of imaginary pink.
It does add a nice warmth 💛
So stinking cute!!! Love the wallpaper, love it all!❤
Your hubby did a wonderful job, the pantry looks great. Love the wall paper too.
Hilary, you & your hubby are so clever! What a great idea that both of you brought to life! Very cool!
Sooo cute! If you are a tea drinker, tea bags would go nicely in your beautiful tin.
Your tea bags would fit nicely in the beautiful tin, then if you host a bible study you could pull out the tin for a tea bar.
You are right. I looked closely again and there is no way to have fit a built wider drawer in there.
Beautiful! Hubby is very talented😊 actually you both are
Dan’s the man 😁👍🏻!!! It looks absolutely gorgeous Hilary! Job well done by you both ☺️. Have a nice day today.🕊️
Thanks so much Donna! He really is 💛
Nice work! It's beautiful
it looks great! 😍 you and Dan did a wonderful job! 🎉😊
That is a pantry of dreams! Beautiful!
Lovely change.
Beautiful, good work Dan!
The pantry turned out beautifully. I love your style . Dan did a great job on those drawers . I love how neat and clean your home always looks . Thanks for sharing .
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely not always neat and clean, but I try 😅
The pantry turned out so beautifully 😍
This is my favorite home project you have done. It turned out beautiful and really fits the style of your home. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!! 💛
Great job. You used every inch of space. I love the cottage look
That came out so beautifully! I love 'refreshes' and try to do one each year somewhere in my home. You've inspired me yet again!
It’s good for the home and the soul 💛
I would consider taking the door off so the prettiness is part of your kitchen. .maybe you could build a s.all broom closet on your back room.
We considered a lot of options but found this one to be the best for us 💛
Great make over! I was wondering where you got the tall glass containers- Amazon?
Thank you, and yes, the ones in the cabinet. The very tall ones at the top of the pantry I’m actually not sure where I got those, maybe Walmart.
So darling so practical
pantry turned out great - blessed to have a handy hubby
Wonderful transformation of a closet!
Beautiful….truly amazing
Good job, Dan! Cabinets are awesome
Hilary, you and Dan did such an amazing job! I’d just keep that beautiful door open and gaze into that pantry all day. Every detail was perfect🌹
It’s open often for sure ☺️💓
The gray streaks in the floor and pasta is an indicator of rodents. It's not a criticism. It looks great, but it is a bandaid for the real issue.
My son spilled the box of pasta. Never had a rodent in the house
Oh my goodness, so beautiful!! You and your husband did such an incredible job, I would want to spend so much time in there lol! Truly Beautiful!
I definitely open the door just to look at it 💛
Beautiful pantry!
