  • I couldn't highlight this plant right away because 1.) it often loses its leaves in dormancy, so it's just a caudex; and 2.) in the spring, it started to get hit with some thrips. It still has a little thrips damage, but I thought was good enough to show its characteristics (and scars) as #184 of "365 Days of Plants".
In this video I'll cover where this is native to, how it grows, where it grows, and best conditions for lighting, watering, fertilizing and more.
Container is a vintage glass container, which I absolutely adore, particularly as the light hits the different color glass mosaic.
AND YES, we are past the halfway point and can I say we're moving towards the finish line? No. No, probably not quite yet...

What a cool plant, I love that it looks like a pinecone, that in itself would be fun to grow, it is a cute little plant. I have never seen this in person, you have so many interesting plants that I could only hope to find to grow. Thanks again Summer, see you tomorrow.

OMG! I just realized we're more than halfway through this series!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to tell you how to run your channel, but sometime between now & April 29 2020 (181days) I think you need to get out there & buy 365 new plants! You gotta keep this thing going.. Also, it might not be a bad idea to add some new southwest facing windows into your home. 👍🏼

I don't doubt for a second that this is an absolute Ton of work, & that fact doesn't go unnoticed.. Also, to be honest-- my comment kinda comes from a place of pure selfishness. I just really enjoy the series & look forward to them each day. Keep up the great content!! 🤙
