Wow! I first heard Fahey on the "Kottke Fahey Lang" album. I became an instant fan and have been listening to him for close to fifty years. I've heard some excellent covers, but I've enjoyed yours the most.
Wow!! Truly mesmerising rendition, dunno why but it really touched me. The way you played it was very sincere somehow, as though you'd written it yourself, and that's hard to pull off when you're performing someone else's piece. You really got that idiosyncratic, syncopated fingerpicking down, and it flowed so naturally too!! Absolutely blew me away. I would love to learn to play guitar one day so I can play John Fahey too, but I can only imagine how many years of hard work and practice it must have taken you to get this good!! Keep 'em coming!!
Thank you so much for your comment! I actually never really studied properly, just mostly sat with my guitar and some tabs and a big love for John, so I think you can and should definitely do the same :) Looking forward to hearing your rendition..
@@talsela12345 h just stumbled on this video and it’s amazing, you play it so well! Would love to see a Sligo River cover. One of my favorite songs to play, it’s so relaxing!
Did you learn this by ear or use a tab? I can only find one tab online and its slightly different to the way you're playing it. So far I've just been learning from watching this video seems it's the best sounding and most accurate. Cheers for the great cover!
Hey, thank you so much! I learned the basics from a tab i found online, but i had the help of a great teacher to get it accurate.. Good luck with playing this one, looking forward to hearing your version!
That's what I'm talking about. If all one did is learn and play Fahey you would have enough good material for several years of play. Some of his stuff ain't so easy.
I've listened to this song hundreds, if not thousands of times, and this sounds less a cover and more a reincarnation.
I’ve been playing this song for years and I thought I had it down and played it well…until I saw this 😂 amazing cover!!
Beautifully done.
Less than a minute to fall in love. I've been listening to Fahey nonstop for days, and this fits right in with the vibe. Brilliant.
Superbe interprétation !!
Sorry I’m late to the party but was looking for resources to help learn this song and stumbled upon your channel. Amazing playing! Thank you. 🙏
Very good. To see a young person playing so well, especially John Fahey tunes. I had the great fortune of seeing John Fahey live, just amazing

Really fine job. Very faithful to the Fahey original. Much enjoyed!
Thanks so much for your kind words! Loved your stuff as well. Always nice to meet another Fahey fan :)
WONDERFUL!!!
Fahey is the man, seems you are the woman! beautiful cover.
Couldn’t tell the difference between yours and the original. Beautiful picking and you got the structure perfect!
Impeccable
Gosh It's so nice to see these sweet renditions of Fahey.

Oh yeah!
Just now learning his tunes... like you instantly had to try and play, beauty of a rendition..thank you for sharing!
Really nicely done. John would be happy!
