    Thank you for this excellent tutorial! I’m making a little witchy cap for my 2 year old daughter for her to wear this winter now! 💕

    I've made six. Used thread, baby fingering, sport and worsted to make this pattern and used all SC stitches on some and all HDC stitches on some. All turned out great. Works great without a brim for not only a Gnome hat but great for a clown hat and Santa Hat as well! Even turned my Happy Accident into a cute cowboy hat by just pokeing the tip inside a bit! Thanks again, Karen ! Another favorite!

    I made the mini version of your hat and I love it!. I stitched on some white felt stars that I'd made using some truly and a cardboard template. Then I attached a hair clip to either side. That way I can wear it on the side clipped on. So I can be a witch for Halloween 🎃 😃

    Thank you for such a well explained tutorial!
    For those who are still struggling at the beginning, I started with a magic circle instead. No chain, just stitched 4 singles doubles directly into the circle. And put a stitch marker on each stitch to locate them. Because that clump ball was so confusing 😅

    love the pattern, thank you for it!! A little tip, you can put the marker yarn in front of your last stitch and stitch over it then just flip it back and forth as you add more rows, that way you never have to pull your hook out of the stitch and have to pull it through. you let your left hand move the marker yarn. hope that explanation was good enough lol

    Love it! Gonna use bright crochet thread and make some without the brim for 'Gnome Hats' for my little 'Dudes'! You could also add a handle and make a doorknob 'May Basket' (filled with potpourri or flowers) with this pattern. You could make dandy 'Pee Pee Teepees' too! Also loved the idea for adding 'hair'!

      Thanks... I've now made six. Three Gnome hats, one Santa hat, one clown hat and one happy accident that became the cutest little cowboy hat ever! (Poked the top inside a bit & curved the brim sides up and bent the front and back of the brim down.) Now for a couple of Pee Pee Teepees out of Sugar and cream.

    Tried it two times but my brim is still getting wavy 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did one row of 2 single crochets in each stitch after the row were we only used the front loop of the stitches. What could I have done wrong? 🤔 It’s looking cute on my plush bunny’s head though 😊 Thank you for the well explained tutorial 🙏

    • @karenscrochetchannel5034
      @karenscrochetchannel5034  Год назад +1

      Maybe you need to try doing one single crochet in one stitch and do two single crochet in the next stitch for just one round and then work one single crochet in each stitch for the following rounds. You may also have some yarn that no matter what you do, it just wants to curl that way. I hope this helps, and thank you for watching my video :)

    Hello there! Thank you so much for your tutorial! It’s the nicest design I’ve seen so far 😊 I have one question... how much yarn do you need approximately for the adult size? I live in Greece and we are quarantined (lockdown) at the moment so I want to see if I have enough yarn 😊 Thank you!!

    Hi I came up with a witch hat before I saw this video , I want to use mine as pin cushions however once stuffed I decreased to close it up but there is a bulge. So it won't sit flat. Should I make a separate disc and hand sew it on to close it ?

    • @karenscrochetchannel5034
      @karenscrochetchannel5034  Год назад +1

      hi, I would say yes to using a separate disc and when joining, I suggest sewing a join right at the base of the hat and a join at the edges of the brim to make it sit flat. Don't overstuff the main part of the hat to prevent bulging, this will also let you make the pointed bit fold over if you wanted that style. Thanks for popping by, and I hope your wich hat pin cushion turns out just how you want it to 😊

    How do I do a split color hat?

  • @valerie9111
    @valerie9111 Год назад

    Try try as I might I just cannot master the first few rows. I've tried many many tutorials but can't get there. Yours is a bit simpler with only one increase each time. Is there any hints or tips you can give me other that perseverance?. Believe it or not but I'm quite a competent crochetier. As it's almost Halloween time so I'd love to crochet these hats for my gnomes (that's the easy bit !!)

    • @karenscrochetchannel5034
      @karenscrochetchannel5034  Год назад

      you could try making a magic circle and putting your stitches in for the first couple of rounds without pulling the tail end tight...sorry this one is a bit fiddly at the beginning, I do hope you can get it right, or maybe have a hat that isn't quite so pointed and begin with 8 stitches??? Thank you for watching my video and I believe you will find a way to master this :)
