Thanks for showing that head swap with the Jason 5pack head, I've been planning on doing that since I got that 5 pack. I know you disagree, but that head just says older Tim to me and I think it looks fantastic on this figure's body. And I prefer the black domino mask over the green, so I'm really looking forward to the head swap now that I know it fits and looks good on the figure. I'm gonna pose mine with the teen titans/young justice figures, not Batman, so I'm not as worried about his height
I've got one of these on pre-order from Amazon. Nice review. I have to say that I think they sort of dropped the ball on this one though. He's just too tall and too bulky. It looks like Tim's been popping roids and hitting the gym. The Knightfall Batman looks positively puny next to him. In fact Robin looks like he is almost the same height and build as the Hush Superman. I mean Tim was never portrayed as ripped in the comics. I really wish McFarlane would get a little more consistent with their scaling. They did the same thing with Impulse. He's just about as tall as the Flash.
Was never really a Robin fan but I love the looks of this one, should have him by Sunday. His waist does look a tad long, wonder if there's a way to get the torso to sit a little lower in the diaper part. 🤔
4:11 - It looks like you fixed it. You may want to pop the legs off and push the peg further into his leg if it happens again. I have a feeling it's not pressed in all the way. If it is all the way in, then the only thing I can think of fixing it is by removing the peg from the leg and saving the end down so it sinks further into the leg. But I don't think that'll be necessary.
The problem with the trunks and legs seems to be general, though on mine it's only on his right leg, the other side doesn't seem so bad. It doesn't jar too much, but it is annoying.
Terrific comprehensive review. Found him at my LCS and picked him up. Only issue with mine is that the wrist pegs that go into the forearms are impossible to rotate. The hands turn on the pegs easily enough and they swivel up and down without any issues but the pegs on both arms fit so tightly into the wrist holes that they don’t want to move. I find that when most reviewers review the articulation on dc multiverse figures they omit the wrist post articulation. Do you have the same issue and if so how did you resolve it ?
@@dHuntersReviews gotta love dc 😂, im ok with being two robins. maybe one day tim being dicks robin or hanging with Jason etc. Same thing with damian but why not just let him keep the red robin name. its just weird
@@dHuntersReviews No, Tim was definitely 13 when he first took on the Robin mantle. Tim Drake is my favorite comic book character of all time. I have his entire series and Young Justice/ Teen Titans run. I know every last detail about him. Just bought this figure. Best Robin action figure out now. 🤓
@@dHuntersReviews Lol. Yes he had the Red Bird car in his early years, and yes he was driving it underage with no license. The Bat family have never been bound by the law. They've always operated outside the boundaries of the legal system. Tim was 13 when he first donned the role of Robin. This is well documented. A simple Google search will confirm that fact. 😉👍
This figure is too tall/big. Head / Face us just mediocre. Toddy Mac needs to hire better sculptors, seen people make better 3rd party heads. They are out there..hire them now!
Actually his sculptors are great, he needs better painters to match the fantastic sculpts. And yes there are 3rd party head out there that cost as much as one of Todd’s figures. Don’t forget this is a mass market $20 retail line.
@@dHuntersReviews McFarlane has VERY inconsistent sculpts on the faces/heads. The majority are less than desirable. The very first Superman head made was good & every one since then has dropped in quality it seems. Hush Supes doesn’t represent Jim Lee’s quality art at all. Heads are a focus point, they must be GOOD no matter the price.
You're right, some heads are great, some are awful. Black Adam looks amazing, unmasked Batlfeck looked bad. A lot of the faces have horrible paint jobs that make them look bland, and repaints make them look light years better like Henry Cavil Superman.
Awesome review as usual, but geez Ive never seen a mcfarlane figure with leg joints that loose before
Not often, but it happens .
They probably went to make this red and green version but then thought wait if we release a red version first then we could get double the profit.
That’s exactly what it is.
Very good review. I like this version of Tim, the classic look! though it is bit bulky and taller, however fits perfectly with the Hush Batman.
This is true, but I wanted him to fit with the Knightfall Batman!

You’re welcome
I like how the face is more realistic and not cartoonish like Damian Robin.
Agreed

I agree
The greatest robin ever
He isn’t perfect, but I really like him!
The new one looks bigger in the best because of the different colour between the chest and arms. It’s an interesting optical illusion!
New one looks smaller in the chest though…
@@dHuntersReviews I genuinely don’t think it is. I truly think it’s an identical buck 😂
I do too, but it looks slimmer, you said it looks thicker?
I have the same issue for the diaper. I think it’s how they positioned the legs on the package which sucks
Damn
How does Alan Scott's red match with "year one robin"?
It’s one year later robin
Alan Scott is much darker
@dHuntersReviews damn, was hoping to replace the arms on my robin but I'm not too experienced with painting

I tried with no success

I tried pushing it in more no success
I give him 10 he's great
But he isn’t a perfect figure, not worthy of 10.
He is great though.
I like the red and black color scheme. However, i understand why most prefer this one.
I totally prefer this one

Mine is also the right leg
More 'head swaps' I've seen a Keaton batman head that looks good. U should do a dedicated head swapping and custom episode ❤
One day I’d like to do a video on all my customs, but I think I have too many.
I feel like I'm losing my mind but the new one looks way slimmer than the gold label all red version
I think it’s a trick of the paint
But I feel the same way
I think they seated it different so it looks taller and slimmer I dunno
Yeah the all red one looks fat next to the new one

Similar issues
Heat him up in boiling water and gentlest free them while he’s soft
Thanks for doing that unmasked Jason Todd headswap
Thanks for the idea!
i want that same red robin for mcfarlane to make. i want the batfamily to make sense
Yes
Now he’s Robin again with another new costume
@@dHuntersReviews gotta love dc 😂, im ok with being two robins. maybe one day tim being dicks robin or hanging with Jason etc. Same thing with damian but why not just let him keep the red robin name. its just weird
My favorite Robin as well until DC ruined him now
Yes I am very displeased with how they are handling him lately.
Agreed
imho tim drake is a slimmer character. he looks super thick next to night wing. that should be opposite
That nightwing too small
And yea Tim is a little too bulky
Better than I expected based off the red version
That upper torso looks thinner to me too but like you said it could be my eyes playing tricks on me.
I think it’s exactly the same, but it does seem slimmer
d hunter ❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yessir
He should be the height of McFarlane Red Robin. He's looks too buff also.
Agreed on both points
Too tall, too buff
Is it worth 30$???
I’d say hell yes
I paid $20
@@dHuntersReviews alr thx. I’m just starting out and I want a Robin. Any other figures that u would recommend for new collectors
Knightfall Batman
New 52 red hood
White knight Azrael
Batwoman
Rebirth nightwing
Tim was 12/13 when he became Robin.
He was definitely older than that

He had to be at least 16 in Robin Reborn
He had his own car shortly after

I’ll check
I read that story
I recall him looking and being older
Lol stealth iron man got an upgrade😂😂
?
This Robin looks like Jake Gyllenhaal
Slightly
I’m having the same diaper issue.
That sucks
This figure is too tall/big.

Yea the diaper is the same on mine @dhunter
It’s not a huge deal but a little off and I had trouble fixing it
