Love this song. My father used to sing it to me as a child. I named my youngest daughter after this wonderful old song. You've inspiried me to pick up my guitar and try to once again learn to play it!
That's by far the most beautiful version of this song that I've ever heard - pity it's on a lesson in some respects, I was almost in tears listening to it.
Thank you so much for this I only found your video today. My Nana Nora passed away last year and this was played at her graveside and I've been trying so hard to learn it since. My Grandad used to whistle the original Maggie song in work and then got a lot of flack for being an old romantic when it changed to Nora unbeknownst to him (I think secretly he loved it).Thank you so much once again, it means a lot to me to be able to play this song.
It is a real pleasure ! I actually sing it as Nora when I perform it but for technical reasons I had to do the Maggie version here..........the Nora version is exactly the same song but with that one word different....it is actually easier to sing than the maggie version.
i would like to take time again and say how much i love your videos, its more than just lessons these are great renditions and in many cases my favorite versions of these songs (when i feel like listening to these songs i just listen to your version)
yes I recognised the guitar... I was about to buy it but I found a Trameleuc (old japanese guitar, similar to lowden) for 280 euro (on the internet the smaller price for it is 870 euro!)! however the tanglewood's very nice for the price (found a used one for 390 euro) and all solid wood :) [you can listen to the Trameleuc [through a 15W Marshall] on my Little Wing cover :)]
Great song. Really enjoyed it. Please people learn to play with the thumb index middle and ring fingers on the right hand. P i m a is a much more economical way to play thus reducing inaccuracy and tension in the hand. Once learned you can play all arpeggiated styles. Hope you post more videos soon Flynners.

Delighted to be of help..........lovely story about your dad. It will come back to you easily as it is not a particularly difficult song.
