    I'm sitting here watching this video in Palm Springs where it was 116 degrees today. Just looking at those beautiful snowy mountains made me feel a little cooler. Ever since the pandemic I have been hooked on your videos. They're the next best thing to actually being onboard.

    Question? What is your favorite type of airlines?? My favorite is Alaska airline! Edit: i also wondering that since you being hold camera to video but i was wondering if you took little break to arm calm or just hold all the way? except meals

      Well, I enjoy a lot of different airlines. My favorite US airlines right now are United, Alaska, and Southwest. I tend to fly them the most. Although I do try to fly as many different airlines as possible. And yes, I do occasionally take small breaks when filming.

    Surprised that your plane was on the ‘B’ concourse. Delta has the entire ‘A’ concourse, maybe later this year when more gates are opened on ‘A’ those ‘B’ gates won’t be used anymore.

      Yeah, this was the first and only time I've flown out of the B concourse. But, I always see a few Delta flights over there. I'm not sure what'll happen when everything is completed finished.

      Thanks my friend. My advice to people is always to remember that RUclips is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes a long time to build things on RUclips. It really is a grind. Remember, my channel is 8 years old. And I've uploaded well over 2,600 videos. The biggest thing besides just being patient is to be consistent. You can have the most amazing content ever, but if you only upload twice pear year, your channel will never gain enough traction to grow. Upload at least once a week, is what I always say.

    Skylite, your videos are my favorite among all of RUclips - so well done. I’m amazed at how many flights you’re able to document and then post - wondering if you take these trips JUST to shoot video? The steadiness of the camera is impressive. I tried shooting video like this a few times and it was a shaky mess. Serious kudos for your efforts!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      Thanks my friend. I really appreciate those kind words and the super thanks. Everything I make on here gets put back into the channel! I do take pretty much all the flights you see on here, just to get the footage. And that’s a lot of flying that has to be done to have daily uploads.

      @@VPR2B That's the best way to do it! Sadly the window on this plane was pretty scratched up. It made it hard to film clearly. It would've been even better if the window had been clear haha.

    • @VPR2B
      @VPR2B Год назад

      @@sla31 It looks go good I feel like my head is OUTSIDE the window! Can I ask how you get this so steady? Is the camera attached to the window? Can’t imagine you holding the camera for hours on end …

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад +1

      @@VPR2B it is not. I hold the camera by hand, even on longer flights. The problem with attaching the camera to the window is twofold. First, some airlines, just don’t allow it. And even if the airline does, sometimes flight attendants just won’t let you do it. And second, and more importantly, I film so the iPhones. The 14 Pro right now. And as amazing as the cameras are, they are not designed to be action cameras. So when you attach them to the window, all of the engine vibrations get transferred into the lens of the camera. It gives the the footage a warped or would you say that how would you take ripply look to it. Like if you threw a rock into a pond. So, all these years later, and believe me I have tried many other options… The best way to get the best picture is to just hold the camera by hand. My arm, full of fat and muscle, is the only way I’ve ever found to absorb all those vibrations. I also wear long sleeve black shirts and black gloves to keep my hand and arm from reflecting in the window.

    I read that the reason commercial jets don't fly over the Himalayas is because if they lose cabin pressure they can't descend low enough for breathable air. I suppose the Rockies would also present a challenge to descend but always flying around them would just be unwieldy.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад +2

      I could be wrong, but I'd bet there's also more airpots situated throughout the Rockies than the Himalayas that can handle larger commercial jets. I mean, just off the top of my head I can think of quite a few airports in the rockies, or right on the edges of them, that can handle at least 757 sized aircraft. Salt Lake City, Denver, Jackson-Hole, Eagle-Vail, Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Grand Junction, Durango, Montrose, Santa Fe, Boise, Bozeman, Billings, etc. Even with as rough and daunting as the terrain is, there's quite a few diversion points.

    • @austindarrenor
      @austindarrenor Год назад

      @@sla31 Sure, vs the chances of finding a usable runway in the Himalayas being slim to none. Imagine dodging mountains and snaking thru valleys just to be low enough to be able to breathe, lol.

    You say it was the full flight and yes, it was very close, however, what is that small section you skipped during minute 55 of the video just before the captain announced the beginning of the descent? What was so wrong with that 30 seconds or minute or so that had to be skipped? Copyright concerns? Any other issues? Just curious.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      I was talking to the flight attendant. They were picking up trash and asked why I was filming. It doesn’t make for a very good video if you can hear me and the FA chatting haha. My full flight videos always have very very small bits cut out, when the flight attendants are doing the drink service, or if they are picking up trash, and I need to talk to them etc. sometimes it’s even the passenger next to me asking what I’m doing, etc. It’s just easier to stop recording for a few seconds, then to try to remember the timestamp and edit the sound and all that stuff later. The cut for a few seconds is a very easy way to remind myself that small edits are needed when I go in to edit the actual video.

    • @praisethatprays6305
      @praisethatprays6305 Год назад

      @@sla31 I always think that the moment the pilot reduces power to begin the descent is one of the more interesting parts of a flight, especially the shorter flights which easier to watch because they are not so time consuming. Just concerned that this was deleted even incidentally because of the timing of the flight attendant's comments. Maybe you can do a video that would actually highlight this moment since it ends one phase of the flight and begins the next. That was the motivation behind my last comment.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      @@praisethatprays6305 well, I’d say that 98% of my videos do have that phase uninterrupted. But sometimes, especially on short flights, that just happens to be when the FA’s are around. This isn’t something that happens at the same exact spot on every single video.
