I sold over 200 glitter Christmas baubles in Oct/Nov/Dec 2023 - inspired by you! All on Facebook Market Place. It was a great way to start my Cricut business adventure. TY!
I did sell at a local shop from a booth. I found that I really needed to FOCUS on just a couple of things. I craft EVERYTHING and it was like I was trying to make every type of craft updated by season and that left me not really focused on selling my business. So, as much as I LOVE CRAFTING I have to decide on a couple of items and pump those out.
So you said you started focusing on a couple things? Are you referring to the items you are creating (like tshirts, mugs, etc etc…) OR are you referring to what you are designing? I am thinking of getting the circuit maker 3.. to order it tonight in fact (since it has a great sale for a bundle pack) I am an artist and just getting back into drawing and would like to sell physical items, thinking of taking your lead and focus on 2-4 items with various designs
This is all very helpful but do you have any videos showing exactly how to market, where to market how to go about actually making a sale! After years of trying I have yet to make any sales ☹️
I am thinking of getting a cricut. I asked for it for christmas actually. Lol I am considering doing this as a side job as extra money and if I do as well as i hope I do making it my full time job so I can be home with my children more. Thank you for this video and your info. I saved this video so i can come back to it when i get my circut machine along with a few other of your videos. ❤
I'm highly considering buying a cricut starter bundle and trying to turn it into my full time job at home eventually so I can leave my warehouse job. So happy I stumbled across your videos
I did finally buy a Cricut. Now I have to learn how to use it. Hopefully, it's not as intimidating as the Instapot. My goal this year is to conquer that too. In Alberta and I agree on the pronunciation of the word "Decal"
I am thinking of buying one and starting an online business. This is the second video I have watched of yours and I love the way you explain things so thoroughly. I will continue watching your videos and as soon as I buy my cricut, I hope to be successful.
I would love to start up my own at home business, making custom home decor. It’s just such a scary thought to leave my 9:00 to 5:00 job. So I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. Thank You ❤
Thank you for this video! I have had my Cricut a few months and have not regretted it one single minute! I have made about $300 so far and that's only on a few shirts and some marketing stickers for some friends
@sambadace I haven't really tried much more after I made the stickers. I got overwhelmed and started second guessing it all. It's all about action though and actually putting offers out there! You can do it if you really want it 💪 go for it💓
Yea Canada! I'm in Ontario and currently on medical leave from my regular job and I have been thinking of starting my own business using my Cricut machines and I pretty much have all of them. I started out making personalized mugs for my family at Christmas and then I did T-shirts for my sister who has a choir group with some of her grandchildren in it. I want to learn more of what I can do, so I can turn my hobby into a profitable side hustle, but I'm always concerned about copyright infringement. I look at videos on here and most of them are great, but sometimes I get burned out by inspiration overload. I have an idea of what I want to do, more along the lines of personalized items (T-shirts, hats, bags, coffee mugs, and so on). I just need help to get started and grow from there.
Great video. I was selling handmade items at craft fairs. Then, when the pandemic came, I opened an Etsy store. A friend gave me a Cricut machine. I want to use it to add customization to my products.
Thank you for your video. I was looking for a video to see what I can make with my new cricut and I saw your video. You’re so inspiring! I am not sure if I actually have the guts to sell anything I make but your video is so helpful for those who want to pursue this dream. Looking forward to more of your videos! Best wishes to you!😊
EXCELLENT video….! Most helpful info. Also…am from U.S. Found you during pandemic via RUclips, forever changed and inspired, most especially by the word decal. Such a cuter way of saying it. My U.S. neighbors will get over it. 😉😂🙋♀️💖
My bf mother just gave me a cricut. And I’ve have prior digital design and printing experience. I would like an engraver but those run 4K or more. So now that I have my hands on a virtually flexible machine I’m curious if I can start up. My thoughts are having a quirky mismatched store. Like your mismatched socks we all you know wear
I didn't hear the part were you said that you pronounce decal differently in CA. So I paused the video and googled deckel thinking this must be a circuit term im not familiar with. Couldn't find info on it so I went back to watch that part of your video again. Now i understand lol. Thanks for the video. Im thinking about getting a circuit.
Great information! I love design work, so thought about venturing off into designing physical items with a circuit. My question is, where do you find the mugs, tshirts, etc to put the designs on? And how do you go about pricing products?
Thank you so much Christina! I always love your ideas and tips and I admire and appreciate the way you share with us from your experience and give us a shortcut. The information you share has been very useful in many ways.
Thank you for an amazing and helpful video! I just bought my first ever Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut easy heat press and planning to start my own business. I would love to connect with you and get some tips. I have 2 boys (4yr & 1yr), would love have to flexibility to spend more quality time with them.
I’d love to start my own business too as I’d love to earn and stay at home with my 4 children and spend more time as family so would of looked as a gift customer base but starting Is a lot as equipment, research and resources
@THEDIYMOMMY I am having one hard time. I just started the T-shirt world for my husband's Patreons and I am having a really hard time with the new Cricut heat press. I originally thought it was just because I was doing it the old-school way and using an Iron but my one vinyl is taking a long time to press. I have messed with the heat settings and eventually, it works but I am thinking it may be the vinyl I use. If you doing shirts where do you purchase your vinyl at. I get them from Hobby Lobby but I am thinking maybe this brand or something is off. Flocked Vinyl is working very well right now.
Thanks for the ideas. I love watching your design ideas. I have a small business that mostly has the Cricut at the center of it. I teach Cricut and other creative classes but also sell homemade items. My homemade items are Misfit Crafter Menagerie. Classes Misfit Crafter Studio. Been doing this off and on for years. And over the past few years hitting it hard. I still work full time so most of my free time I used building my business.
Hello Christina! Great video as it was very helpful. Is the bonded fabric blade the exact same thing as the fine point blade for cricut explorer 2? I read about it and some said it is and others said no. I wanted to make some felt projects and would like to know if this would cut it. Thank you 😊
Yes they are the same, just colored differently so it's easy to keep track of which was used for fabric. To use this blade with felt you need to stiffen the felt with an iron on backing or something like terial magic
I'm new at your channel, I would like to know what cricket machine you recommend to buy.. I'm planning to buy one for my daughter, she loves to make stuff, she's even selling her drawings at Etsy.
I would strongly discourage anyone from making anything Disney related without a license, which is extremely expensive and difficult to get. Disney has been really cracking down on small businesses and Etsy sellers. They WILL sue you! Otherwise, all great ideas.
@teeser Disney owns the copyrights to their images. It's not that they are a bad or good company, it's that it it has become easy for small businesses to use images for their business, so instead of warnings like they might have done in the past, they are more apt to sue now.
❤ i did a xmas craft show and hope to sell my stuff at store on whyte avenue in Edmonton. I work full time so trying to slowly get my stuff out there for when I retire and can do full time for some extra money and do what I really love. Thanks for the tips, its very appreciated. I love your content and style! Fellow Albertan as well❤
I’ve lived in Ontario and Manitoba and I say it the same way as you, Christina. Canadian culture and language is so heavily influenced by US (it was the UK in my parents’ day), so that may account for differences even within Canada.
You should be careful selling Disney images(or any other licensed brands), if you don't have the proper licenses to sell their brand and they catch you, they will come and shut your buisness down, I believe they can take your equipment, and they will sue you. I know people do it, and sell it all over etsy, but there is a good chance they are doing it illegally. If I understood it correctly, it cost thousands of dollars to have the proper licenses to sell Disney brand. So even if you buy it off etsy, or wherever, does not mean your safe. Disney hires people to specifically go out and search for people who are using their brand illegally. So I'm not saying don't, I'm just saying there is a huge risk. Personally, it's not worth the risk for me, so I stay away from anything trademarked.
make money selling items you make ??? haha nice joke ... try come live in Germany and sell anything and you're gonna learn, probably the hard way, that the taxes you'll have to pay aren't worth the effeort 🙈

It is scary, but so rewarding! Perhaps try starting something as a side job first and see where that takes you! 🩷

Hello!
Which model is recommended to do vinyl stencil for cake decoration ?
Thanks

I usually just use the Cricut vinyl right from their website!
@@thediymommy I might have to try that
Great point about using good photos.
What machine was you talking about the ink infused?
Thank you for your video. If I understand, I new a cricut and also a printer ?
And a lot of other items :)
Bonjour, avez vous un conseil concernant une bonne imprimante pour faire des stickers à l'aide de la cricut? Merci d'avance!!!

Thank you for all these informative videos super helpful
I'm new at your channel, I would like to know what cricket machine you recommend to buy.. I'm planning to buy one for my daughter, she loves to make stuff, she's even selling her drawings at Etsy.
It depends on what she wants to do with it - the Joy is great for smaller projects and the Explore 3 for larger.
Where do you get your clear sticker paper for your stickers to me them waterproof
Yeah!! Finally, someone who pronounces DECAL properly! 😉😂(Originally from Alberta)
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for all the ideas and tips. My 2 daughters and I are planning a going into business. The information on this video was very helpful.
Thanks, really helpful! Would love to get one soon!!
Thanks for watching!
Are images on cricut sellable?
I would strongly discourage anyone from making anything Disney related without a license, which is extremely expensive and difficult to get. Disney has been really cracking down on small businesses and Etsy sellers. They WILL sue you! Otherwise, all great ideas.
Yes, that's wise!
They’ve become a really bad company .
@teeser Disney owns the copyrights to their images. It's not that they are a bad or good company, it's that it it has become easy for small businesses to use images for their business, so instead of warnings like they might have done in the past, they are more apt to sue now.
Please what is the name of the machine you used to press the sticker unto the t shirt?
Cricut EasyPress
The pronunciation of decals is weird. It took me some time to figure out what the person was saying. Well I like the more common pronunciation.
Common to who? The way she says it is common to Canada. 🇨🇦
Very informative. Great title for this video btw😂😏
Thinking about starting
It’s not only in Western Canada…we say escalate the same as you in Ontario..
❤

We say it in Ontario too
Whenever I say it's Canadian, someone from Ontario gets mad at me. 😂
@The DIY Mommy maybe it's a millennial thing, because people of my vintage say it your way.
I’ve lived in Ontario and Manitoba and I say it the same way as you, Christina. Canadian culture and language is so heavily influenced by US (it was the UK in my parents’ day), so that may account for differences even within Canada.
I like you!
Where did you get your t-shirt? All I see are more for men. Yours look like for a girl which is what I want! Loved the video!
love dekkels
I would not use anything Disney. Even if you have them on at Disney, they may ask you about where you got them and askbyou to take them off.
I googled Canadian English...its still Dee cal....definitely not dekel. That's just a local thing😊
A hat do you use on your mugs
If that word was spelt the way you pronounce it "deccal" the "e" in decal is a long sound since there's only one consonant.
You should be careful selling Disney images(or any other licensed brands), if you don't have the proper licenses to sell their brand and they catch you, they will come and shut your buisness down, I believe they can take your equipment, and they will sue you. Yes, that are all pretty much breaking the law, and those fines are stiff, like own your house stiff!
I would love to start my own business with a design “SHANDRA’S Food Adventures.”
