    Pride of the nation
    a beast made steel
    Bismarck in motion
    king of the ocean.
HE WAS MADE TO RULE THE WAVES ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS
    To lead the warmachine
to rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine.
    The terror of the seas
    the Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine
Two thousand mens and fifty thousand tons of steel
set the course for the Atlantic with the Allies on their heel.
    Firepower, firefight

I've played that scenario multiple times and have not been able to save the Prinz Eugen, so the only conclusion I have from is that during the real battle the British shooting must have been very bad. Wales did hit the Bismarck and vise-versa, but Hood couldn't hit a thing.

The British initially mistook the Prinz Eugene for Bismarck and fired several salvos at her. When they realized the mistake, the British shifted their fire to Bismarck. This created a situation where the gunnery directors had to recalculate their aim thus resulting in the less than usually stellar British gunnery we're used to. And for Hood, this delay would prove fatal.
