When heated ZnCO3 with limited amount of water
ZnCO3 + CO2 - ZNO + CO2
When zinc carbonate (ZnCO3) is heated with limited amount of oxygen, zinc oxide and carbon dioxide gas will be produced. The zinc ore undergoes calcination here
ZnCO3(s) ---> ZnO(s) + CO2(g)
ZnO + C ---> Zn + CO

The reaction is as follows
ZnCO3(s) ---> ZnO(s) + CO2(g)
This zinc oxide is reduced to zinc by using suitable reducing agents like carbon
i.e
ZnO + C ---> Zn + CO
This can also be termed as a redox reaction
