I love The Average German! Cracks me up every time. I am German and this series is so on point showing the funny and awkward little details in our culture. Love it 🎉
I really love The Average German, too! Been at the Bauhaus University Weimar for a short study--and God, most of my money was spent drinking beer! Clare, you're amazing!
I personally think that Germans like to chat very much. Neighbors will stand on the roadside and chat, friends will stand by the car and chat, and some will chat in the gym.
Australian and I have visited a Kneipe / Bar which was next door to a market. So I saw many a worker having a bier. Some did get drunk, others would be there and have maybe 2 biers over a few hours, just talking and or playing those electronic game machines on the wall. Obviously as a tourist yes I enjoyed some beer and talking at times to locals, Orkus observing what was going on.
I am an American that has studied lived and worked in B.W. and learned swaebian as a result. Ive always dreamed of relocating but what profession ? Is there a place I could use my niche aquired talent. I sags dir doch du wirschs gar net glauben wenn sowas hoersch aber wirklich ich deds gern dona umziehn aber weis net wie
I love this format so much… gut gemacht! 👏👏👏 P.S: Germans are supposed to be straightforward, why would they put up hanging with people they don’t like? 🤦♀️
2:25 This was an extremely accurate scene. The only bottle openers in the country are for foreigners. If you can't open the beer with whatever you have around you, you don't deserve to have beer. The angry neigbour is probably an elderly rentner (pensioner) who hasen't anything better to do with their time 3:39 Having an umbrella gives you away as being a foreigner
The "Master of Moaning" sign is hilarious. As a tired neighbor myself, my wife and I were awoken in the night to the sound of VERY vigorous sex with sound effects. I'm pretty sure the entire neighborhood heard it. Maybe the entire city! Only in Germany.
Note in British English? The frequency of getting drunk, guess they are self reported? So how many times a Yankee, a Brit, an Irish get drunk per year?
I do not know anyone who gets drunk even once a year. So, are my friends and acquaintances sensible, or just boring? Or is this an American thing, like not smoking?
@@dweuromaxx I'm an American who spends a fair amount of time in Europe, and I'm skeptical of those statistics. Getting drunk eleven times a year is really a lot, even for younger people. I'd call that borderline alcoholism.
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 Fair observation. Of course, being 'drunk' is always slightly subjective: one person's tipsy is another's inebriated. There are certainly countries known more for their fondness of being drunk, though.
Sorry but why are we calling it soccer when pretty much everywhere except America calls it football? The governing body of world football is literally called FIFA not FISA😂
Ok it is Avarage German not Median German.. otherwise Michael would never get drunk 11 times a year or meet in a Kneipe, but at home or at a friends place.
I think, German don’t get drunk „that often“ because they are used to drink a lot. Should have mentioned that Germans drink the most alcohol i the world.
I don't know why she still hides behind things when she's literally a friendly house ghost lol. Love this series!

Thank you, Vanessa. We enjoy holding up the mirror 😊
I felt that eye roll at 3:01 right through the screen.
This is one of your best series! Waiting for the next one!!
Thank you :) more to come!
We had a blast recreating the iconic Pulp Fiction dance (on a Michael Müller budget) 🕺
Really funny series. I need to try that famous German bread. Michael and his 'watcher' go very well together.
german weekend goals: abendbrot, a couple of brewskis, and an angry letter from a neighbor
loving this series!! need to see more
The angry neigbour is probably an elderly rentner who hasen't anything better to do
seriously love these, and am using to help my German friends learn English, thanks and can't wait for more
That's awesome to hear :) thank you, Tony!
I’m gonna tell my kids Clare Gower was David Attenborough
Amazing episode, please keep going with this hilarious series!!
Thanks, Alex, we shall 🍻🇩🇪
I really love The Average German, too! Been at the Bauhaus University Weimar for a short study--and God, most of my money was spent drinking beer! Clare, you're amazing!
Thanks, Sandro! How much per week on beer are we talking? 😏
Its 9:00 pm but it is still bright so summer is like that right now it is winter and about 4:00 pm darkness prevails,...
Love the AG series.. and Clare is hilarious.
This is super funny. Love the witty and dry comments by the presenter. Great work by the crew. binging all episodes and can't wait for new ones!
Thank you 😁❤️
I just found this video, and I'm totally in love with it.. I'm definitely coming to Germany. ❤
Very creative presentation..also i love her accent its pure English ❤❤
Wonderful series well done! Love all of them ❤
Thank you!
I love the format of this show. Really cleaverly made!
1:02 wait, so she's British?? That adds an extra layer of hilariousness, since Brits are famous for their nature exploration documentaries 😂
Love this Attenborough meets spy thriller depiction of the average German lol
Favourite comment so far
Such a great summary and so spot on. Love it! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
This one was a really nice “documentary”. I did enjoy a lot this format.
Love it. Waiting to watch Michael’s weekend schedule
We're going to find out what he's up to on Sunday next 😏
I personally think that Germans like to chat very much. Neighbors will stand on the roadside and chat, friends will stand by the car and chat, and some will chat in the gym.
Love it! Thank you guys!
Nobody eats 3 times bread a day in Germany. A warm meal traditionally for lunch or for dinner is normal.
That's true. Abendbrot doesn't mean bread for the other meals.
i also wanna see how average german deals with german bureaucracy 😅
Crazy videography not at all boring ❤
Australians get drunk 26 times a year on average! Always knew we were legends😂🇦🇺

In Australia, beers also commonly drunk?
Beer is not drinking!....It´s enjoying! 🍺
I love this series
Good 👍 series waiting for your next one ☝️
This is funny and now I know I'm just super German and not depressed.❤
This is brilliantly entertaining!
Thank you, Sir! 🇩🇪
Hilarious as always i love these videos ❤
Thank you! More to come 😏

👍 - also for the YT algo! 😊
I love these series!!
I just love this series! The reporter is dead COOL
We're glad you're enjoying it. Make sure to follow our channel in order to not miss out in the future 😊
Love this series, your facial expressions are hilarious ( and so apt)😂
The pulp fiction dance had me cackling
My fav series is out again! ❤
Love this series, such a good idea ! 😂
Glad you enjoy it! More Michael to come 🏎
I can relate to the love affair with bread. His dance moves will definitely pull in the bingo hall
🕺 heck yeah
Thanks
Lovely series. A year on, hope Michael is ok 👌
Would be cool to see this for many other countries too!
Which countries are you most fascinated by? 😏
@@dweuromaxx France, Norway, Spain would be cool!
hilarious series
These videos are fab…only weird thing is her switching from stealth/incognito mode to kitchen bestie
Haha... Michael Müller lives in the upside down 🌪. But really - would you prefer her to be always hiding?
I think she is Schroedinger's reporter: simultaneously present and not present in the scene.
Clare is excellent at making us laugh….
🤩 thank you
Lovely and funny
The dance 👍👍

I loved the series, specifically this lovely girl playing sherlock holmes 🕵️
It's the dancing for me...
It's still so light out at 9:00 pm???? 🤔
During summer it's possible.
Love Germany and Germans
I love this format so much… gut gemacht! 👏👏👏
P.S: Germans are supposed to be straightforward, why would they put up hanging with people they don’t like? 🤦♀️
They *fear* having to spend time with people they don't like. Of course, sometimes they have to face this fear 🥲. Thank you for the love!
The most average German behavior in this episode: Opening a bottle of beer with the TV remote.
I'm really enjoying the show, but I'm just curious what the show would look like if it were done by an actual German production!
hehe the pulp fiction reference
2:25 This was an extremely accurate scene. The only bottle openers in the country are for foreigners. If you can't open the beer with whatever you have around you, you don't deserve to have beer.

3:39 Having an umbrella gives you away as being a foreigner
I'm foreigner and when its raining, I'm only one without an umbrella. May be people in Munich are more sensitive about that
Most Brits I know would say “Not too bad”
This is a quote from a study. We're sure in real life, "not too bad" is exactly what they'd say! 🇬🇧🫖
Terrible dancers 😂😂

Strange that I never seen drunk Germans, with exclusion to Oktoberfest
Note in British English?
The frequency of getting drunk, guess they are self reported? So how many times a Yankee, a Brit, an Irish get drunk per year?
I always thought different parts of Germany have different hobbies depending on the region of the country.
he was having a Becks beer.. his goalkeeping buddy needs some sun.... so pale...
Well thats five minutes of my life I'll never get back
dont forget the other 33 seconds and many more seconds you're wasting reading this this comment ( that applies to everyone)
When Clare found out "Michael's" last name irl, that must've been a bit awkward🤪
Is the 50/50 left/right multicoloured beard considered average in Germany?!
We are not so silly😂
And German boys don't talk about their feelings with their buddies. It goes like :"Alles klar?"" Jo, alles klar! "
well it happens when they are in private and trust each other enough
Don’t pick on us Aussies for drinking, I’ve seen Germans going nuts on the amber fluid 😱🔥🍻🍻🍻🍻
Why does Michael have a half-half beard?
Maybe he's born with it... Maybe it's Maybelline 🧔♂️
02:00 Really, sandwiches for dinner? Is it common in Germany to not have a hot meal for dinner?
A cold "Abendbrot" is a common dinner option, especially for older generations, the majority of Germans still enjoy a hot main meal in the evening!🍽
Correction. When asking a Brit how their day was, it is likely they will say : "Not too bad".
I do not know anyone who gets drunk even once a year. So, are my friends and acquaintances sensible, or just boring? Or is this an American thing, like not smoking?
Hey Patrick, do you ask this question as a German or an American? Perhaps you have sensible friends, indeed!

@@dweuromaxx Indeed, and perversely, the Aussies seem rather proud of that reputation.
In my country If you are a drinker most get tripsy every weekend, there 52 weekends so 11 times seems low😂
I don't have an English girl spying on me. I'm German too.
...but you wouldn't know if she was there 😏
Love how British bash Germans! :D
Can you do a video on German dating
Yes, Gwendolyn Penelope. Yes we can! 💘
Host is absolutely beautiful 🎉
Did he open his beer bottle with the remote control? 😳
Germans have the superpower of being able to open a beer with almost any object. 👀🍺
Lol no this is very immaculate

Average Australian are changing Mate. Not all are just white borgans.
Gott sei Dank, es ist Freitag, shouldn't that be GDEIF in German?
Let's start that trend!
only 11 times?
:0 how many do YOU get drunk?
Another thing that is confirmed. Brits are good at spying 😂😂😂

I don't think they are misarable, but for sure bored.
Only DB and bureacracy can make people miserable here
German people don't eat a lot of bread compared to us Egyptians.
German culture is ideal for every introvert.
Sweden as well.
Why this man has two colored beard
Maybe go to a youth rally?
His beard colour is suspect 😮
