@@Elijah-ov9kr he was referring to the original Toho versions of Godzilla who were mutants born from nuclear radiation, while Monsterverse Godzilla is an ancient species that evolved to naturally eat nuclear radiation, he wasn't born from it.

One detail I just love in this show is that in the flashback scenes, both between Cate and Lee, is that Godzilla's spines are that of his 2014 appearance. And in the modern day, they're that of his KotM appearance. Almost as if spine shape and pattern is intrinsic to the growth of his species. Almost like they weren't fully developed in the past until his growth in this show and KotM.
The change in Dorsal spines reflects a Canon Monsterverse Comic taking place after Godzilla 2014, called "Godzilla: Aftershock". In the Comic he does battle with Muto Prime, who shatters his 14' Dorsal plates. The leak of Radiation from his body goes on to form his KoTM dorsal plates. HOWEVER, What is remarkably impressive, is the accuracy to the 2014 design. After a movie Digital model is used, it's kinda lost to time, as each media will use their own model. After G14, the files of that rigged Model of Godzilla were lost. However, this model looks IDENTICAL, how they got so accurate is beyond me.

@juniemunie2931 storage of those individual models after use in a movie is insanely expensive both from a hardware and beaurocratic stand point. These files would be in the dozens if not hundreds of gigabytes to maintain the fully functioning model. Unfortunately, most movies don't make near enough to justify the cost of storing them.

@juniemunie2931 actually most physical prop based movies (and costumes) are also lost fairly quickly after filming. They require extremely special conditions (like the movie theater museum in the Salt mines in Hutchinson kansas) and again are really only done for extremely high grossing movies. Certain or select props like say the main gun a character uses, the final version of the main characters costume get saved, but by and large most of a movies props are destroyed or sold or rwpurposed once shooting is done to keep costs down in that area
