Both producers did good for me.
However, the task was to follow the chord progression (which is what music is all about).
Buddy Kay's creativity led him to adding too much that he ended changing the essence and progression of the song and in turn - the chord progression lost meaning
Xherpard on the other hand tried to compliment the progression rather than take away from the song and chose to stick to the chord progression so it doesnt lose meaning or the soulfulness of it though i wish he didnt add those strings on every bar. He should have just kept it clean with the subtle layers
The thing with a soulful chord progression is that; you have to avoid adding too much and allow the sound to breathe so we can hear the beauty of the progression and that's what producers like Kabza and Maphorisa to stand out in their amapianos
