It’s always fun here. The weather has been great. I did talk to a person working on the ferries that the real Royal Iris ferry is long gone. That was the one operating during the Beatles time. This one was renamed Iris too. He said a Greek rich guy had bought it but he then went back to Greece and it is somewhere else deteriorated. Costs too much to rehab. What a shame. That original had parties, dances for young people on it. I did go on that original Ferry probably mid 80s at a party they were having. Oh, to be young again!
I knew this trip would be a killer but all I can do is what I can do. The big problem is O keep getting a bit lost looking for stuff and I am walking way more than I should have needed to. Google maps don’t seem to help me at all. I hope you have a bit of fun with some of these little videos. Thank you!
I went on the ferry in the past. In the mid 80s and into the 90s they actually still had dances on the Royal Iris. I went on one of those and I actually saw John’s uncle Charlie Lennon there. Maybe one day I will drag his picture out. It is a nice way to see the skyline and relax a bit. Happy New Year to you and thank you for being in this space.
