I absolutely adore this man. I have for a very very long time. Not just as a comedian, actor, and musician, but as a wonderfully wise human being and engaging story teller. Despite an abusive childhood and hardships he faced as a young adult, Billy has always been able to maintain a healthy perception of life and what it truly means to LIVE. His intuition at balancing the good with the bad and his deep understanding of the human condition fills my heart with hope and optimism for the world. I love you, Billy. There will never be another like you.
All other comedians today are trying to be him but failing miserably. My favourite man ever. He tells the truth warts and all. I've seen him twice and I cried laughing.
I figured that out years ago and I tell people who care to listen that forgiveness has more to do with you, than it has to do with who you are forgiving or what you are forgiving them for. By forgiving them what you are saying is, I will no longer let what you did to me, affect me. I have been carrying this burden which has affected me in different ways at different times in my life but now and forever more, I am taking the power to hurt me that I gave you for so many years, back and will never let you or what you did, hurt me ever again.
Growing up in Michigan I grew up watching the CBC and over time preferred it to the American networks...and Stroumboulopoulos's show is a shining example of what CBC has to offer.
I saw Billy with the Humblebums in 1972. He has been in my life ever since. I have met Billy twice and I gave had the best fun times impersonating him. Billy knows what I do and has been very supportive!
Yeah he's an absolute legend, got to meet him once after a show he did in Adelaide back in 1995. Remember it well him saying, "Jesus Christ you're a big boy, remind me not to get on the wrong side of you." Then he did this funny sort of mock cowering thing and said "Please sir, don't hurt me, I swear on my mother I didn't eat the last sausage roll", I was pissing myself laughing (For context, I'm 6'3, product of a maori mum and italian dad and at that time had just stepped away from A grade rugby, so I was quite big and mean looking).
More Billy, please! Such a great attitude. This interview was too short, but kudos to George for not cutting him off. P.S must find the 82 interview with his wife because he looked a handsome bastard!
I would love to see him do stand-up live. That would be amazing! Great interview. When was the first time he was on the show? I would like to see that show as well. Rhank you.
I have an autographed copy of his book, "Gullible's Travels." My biggest high was I saw him twice in South Africa, and I jokingly told him to 'get on with it,' to which he told me to "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" He is the best ever comedian.
Probably isn't any more. George would cut off like that to commercial all the time and when the show resumed it would be about something or someone different. Kind of annoying. You expect more and never got it!
About 30 years ago I worked with a man that said that he once went out drinking years prior to that with Bill Connolly. What he said was that when he woke up the next morning his cheeks were aching in pain because he was laughing so much the night before.
@@irbennett Why would you doubt this story ? I can only tell you that my co-worker told me this story and I also know that the co-worker was the son of a famous actress. That is a far as I can go in personally verifying this story.

i give billy connoly so much credit as he had such a bad childhood life and turned out so good and funny a man.
Growing up in Michigan I grew up watching the CBC and over time preferred it to the American networks...and Stroumboulopoulos's show is a shining example of what CBC has to offer.
George Stroumboulopoulos is one of the best......such a great interviewer. Not fake...chatty questions. Reminds me of Billy a bit.
I would give anything to have dinner with these two. Both seem so human.
I Swear i could listen to Billy Connolly all day everyday

Hi Everybody! Hi. C
Hi Everybody! Is that right? That’s pure magic, so it is, pal!
yep, character like that takes a lifetime to develop.
I love Billy Connolly! He's a true Scot!
Except for the Irish/Indian blood that flows through his veins.
What does that mean? The Big Yin is from Glasgow, born and bred, but doesn’t live here now. I’m Glaswegian born and bred and he’s loved here.
@@willowmadhuridixit8991 He's right he has Irish/Inddian blood.

Well when it was only 13 days into January that's hardly a compliment.
That’s the joke, it’s sarcasm. 😁
My mum's mum ran away with another man when she was an infant. Our family wouldn't speak of her after that.
