We were just in 5 European countries and used German, Czech, Austrian and Swiss trains. Each of these has its own website and apps. You can buy your tickets online and take a screenshot of your ticket barcode to show any conductor. We had a 8 days SwissPass I bought online after arriving in the Zurich airport. They sent an email with the confirmation and barcode. A screenshot worked for all conductors if asked. You will be asked sooner or later in all the countries. Swiss and Austrian trains were clean newer and ontime. Germany has many rail companies it seems? Not as puntual. The French trains were a little dated. Overall, they all were super.😊
Hi. If I buy the swiss travel pass, do I just show like a bar code or QR code to the conductor in Basel going to Interlaken? Taking a tvg lyria from Paris to Basel then Basel to Interlaken.
@@Balta211 There are many passes available, research them before your trip. Depending on your mode of vacationing, one pas may be better than another one. Once you select the right pass, it may save you _a lot_ of money, those passes are not some little tourist tricks, they really work extremely well if chosen suitably.
Hi. Love the work you put in on the videos. is there an alternative to Berner overland pass for the winters? Because Berner overland pass is not available in winters.
Hello Thank you very much. if I already have the swiss travel pass printed or on phone, do i need to do anything at the ticket machines, or just board one of the trains that take that swiss travel pass? And on panoramic trains does the seat reservation costs anything?
Hello. I want to buy the travel pass, but I am traveling with my family, it is hard to some of them be ready for the phone, Can I buy the pass on the train station? how long does it take to be active? At what time the ticket store is open on the train station? Can I able to buy the pass on the multimedia kiosks? Thanks.
Wow I can get a free luggage delivery? So after I land Zurich airport I can drop my luggages there and ask them send to my hotel in Zurich straight? I can walk out hand-free? How long does it take to reach my hotel then?
Hi, my question is that if we are a family of 5 and have a Swiss travel pass for 8 days, then how do I book my travel in advance from Zurich to Luzerne in a manner that I ensure seats so that I am not standing on my journey because sites like Omio and Rail Europe have no provision to use the Swiss travel Pass.?
I plan to buy Half fare card + regional pass ( BOP 3 days) because i almost travel within this region. So i can buy two these passes online but i want to buy when i arrive Zurich airport. please let me know there is any change of price between buy online in advance or buy at airport? Any if i buy at airport, can i pay by credit card? thanks so much
It depends how much you'll be using the cable cars/boats/trains, and what the prices are. For example, with just _one_ ride to the Jungfraujoch (the Berner Oberland area) the HalfFare monthly pass pretty much pays for itself. So you need to reasearch this a bit, it's all on the Internet.
Actually, with the right pass _and_ with the SBB app on your phomne you can _easily_ save _hundreds_ of francs (I'm not exaggerating, the savings are phenomenal with just a bit of research, no other European country in my experience offers those kinds of discounts for train travel).
Very handy video. We are planning our first Swiss travel. Thank you😊
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy that this video is useful for your travel planning. We look forward to welcoming you to Switzerland soon 😊

SBB offices at any train station, some (most?) of them also on the Internet.
SBB website is the best option or at the Airport counter
That’s why you have to listen to

Did you purchase your Swiss travel pass at the train station?
Do we have to validate our Swiss travel pass in 2024 ?
Also, Can you help us know is the airport has locker facilities?
So the ticket is checked once you are already seated, rather than before you enter? Just confirming!
Exactly! During the journey, while you are already seated, the train attendants will walk around the train and check your ticket.

I am new in Switzerland and I got a fine from sbb swiss of 158chf for not activating my pass early enough. What should I do?

Just get on and find seats... the trains are large and OFTEN.😊
Could we use Swiss travel pass for the Glacier express? What is the best kind of ticket for the trip to Zermatt - St. Moritz ?
Yes, you can. You will pay only for a seat reservation which is mandatory for Glacier express.
How can we purchase mountain train tickets with 25% or 50% off with Swiss Travel Pass online? Swiss Travel Pass option doesn't show on SBB app.

SBB app doesn’t specify which seats are in family zone! Which seats are in family zone?
can you help us with the charges for baggage drop?
Shall I buy Swiss half fare travel card ?
I am planning to visit zermatt for 3 days .

I bought the Swiss Travel Pass online but can't put it mobile. Can I just show them the paper?
No worries, it is also possible to print your Swiss Travel Pass and show the printed version.
A screenshot of the barcode from the message confirmation works too😊@@travelswitzerland_official
So no need to scan to enter platform ?
No. There is never any platform access control in Europe AFAICT. Of course weird exceptions may exist but normally it's all open.
Can I purchase the Swiss Travel Pass at Zurich Airport?
yes...need your passport
It is not an airport😮😊More like a shopping mall.
Incredibly expensive....shameful..

I have lived in Winterthur for 15 years now and I must tell you for free that Zurich is the best state in the world
